We were on business in London and hopped over to Paris for 36 hours. This was our first time in Paris, and though we wanted to hip all the major attractions, we did NOT want to stay in the middle of all the tourist attraction. The Marais district is one of the most charming neighborhoods in Paris, it's very much... More

I have just returned from Paris and spent 5 nights in this hotel. The hotel was in a great local area bursting with boutique shopping and galleries.I love to shop and found this area great for more individual pieces rather than your chain stores. The hotel is quirky and everything the pictures show it to be.I travelled with my 15 year old... This hotel is one of a kind. Each room is unique - which to me is a luxury. The staff was wonderful, the room was kept very tidy. Our air conditioning worked well and the bedding was clean and crisp. Although small, the room was smarty organized and lovely with big windows in both the room and bathroom. This is... More

The hotel is perfectly located in the Marais District. From the outside it does not even look like a hotel, with the signs of a Boulangerie that was located there still in their place. The hotel, which has been designed by Christian Lacroix, is definitely out of the ordinary. The room where we have slept was a mix of old... More

Look if you are the kind of person that gets excited because you are in a hotel designed or frequented by someone famous then yes this place is worth a stay. If not you can get much better in Paris. There is nothing extraordinary about the decor and I say that as someone whose business it is to evaluate decor.... More

My boyfriend and I have just returned from our trip to Paris and the hotel du Petit Moulin was definitely one of the best parts of it. We had booked a Supérieure room and were given #102. The receptionist told us it has recently been redesigned by Christian Lacroix. You bet we were rather excited. And it was really worth... More

This hotel is in an excellent position to explore Paris and is ideally situated for the evening bars and restaurants in the Marais area. First impressions are that the hotel is quirky and uniquely decorated, however after a few days it becomes dark and dingy. We stayed in the best room in the hotel on the top floor in the... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
