· (The area) we thought it wouldn’t be as bad as the reviews made out but oh my god it was so bad please do not stay here don’t get me wrong it is cheap but I wouldn’t stay For free stay closer to the centre or don’t go at all!!! Do not take kids!!! I saw families covering their kids eyes to stop them witnessing the drug taking, drinking and refugees outside the hotel and all the way until the metro no where is safe here!!!!!!!!!

Stayed here for 3 nights for a last minute trip away and we were really impressed. The customer service was excellent, special thanks to the gentleman on the night shift on Thursday 5th sept (didn’t catch his name sorry). He was SO lovely and caring, he gave us great advice on how to stay as safe as possible, he watched us get into our Uber and wrote down the number plate as he wanted to ensure we were safe and just went the extra mile wherever he possibly could. Such a lovely man! The room was fab, cleaned every day and the beds were comfy! Breakfast was €6.60 each and was ofcourse very basic but really nice! Only issue was the location, we were told it’s very unsafe and not to walk anywhere due to a lot of refugees and homeless people around who will hound you for money etc. However don’t let this put you off as the hotel is great, just get Uber’s everywhere (they were actually fairly cheap) and you will be absolutely fine! Would stay here again.

Should you have really a short budget or want to just came here to sleep over only - than it could be fine. The price corresponds to the location-we were friendly recommended by the staff better not to walk outside when gets dark. Nevertheless, the room was tidy and clean.

This ibis is located in the middle of a shanti town and utterly unsafe. If your property is facing the roadside then it offers views of drug dealings, addicts and refugees. The metro is about 2 minutes from the location, which is the longest 2 minutes of your life. We witnessed two people getting robbed on 2 separate occasions and raised our concerns with the hotel staff who appeared to be surprised. Because we booked through hotels.com and paid in advance, we couldn’t get moved to another ibis which really complicated matters. The staff I came across were very nice chaps: a day time manager who’s quite lanky and extremely friendly and reassuring and the night time manager who’s African and extremely funny, with the exception of the bearded Indian guy on the night shift who is overtly racist and has no manners of speaking and starts yelling at you and cutting you off without understanding your question. The hotel security staff are there to harass clients especially if you ask for a refund or to be moved. Completely not safe for families or females travelling. Also, not the best representation of ibis budget hotels, which are great normally.

The hotel is situated bang in the centre of a Syrian refugee camp, tents lining the streets, buildings broken into and in disrepair, you get harassed driving up in the car and cannot walk outside the hotel without getting harassed or followed, my 5 year old son and wife were terrified. The inside of the hotel didn't smell great and the rooms were below par. They refused to allow us a refund or transfer after complaining and expressing our concerns, even when paying for a second ibis 30 minutes up the road. This hotel should be closed as the area is simply dangerous and unsettling.
