The Sanso Hotel, an invitation to urban travel ! Just a short walk from the BNF, in a new and still evolving district, the hotel is developing, with a 3-star rating. In total, the 70 rooms with a generous surface area of 12 to 35 m2 combine the comfort and functionality of an apartment with hotel services. Easily accessible, to attract business and leisure travellers, it is located in close proximity to Line 14 and the RER C, which allows it to connect major monuments in a few minutes such as the Louvre Museum, Saint Michel, or Notre-Dame-de-Paris. In the 13th arrondissement, Bercy Village is less than 15 minutes by foot ; the AccorHotels Arena is 17 minutes away. In order to resonate with the art deco spirit of the building, the renovation has been designed around simple and graphic lines, emphasised by geometrical structures. The rooms are available in 4 categories : classic single or double rooms, family triple or quadruple.

The room is clean and chic (refurbished) however there was no house keeping service during our 3 nights stay eventhough we didn’t put the “green card sign” as a way to refuse room cleaning for those who stay for more than 2 nights. It’s only several steps away from the metro station Bibliotheque Françoise with a mini market across the street and Cafés and Restaurants nearby.

The staff who helped us check in was friendly and polite at first but then his demeanour changed after we complained that we got twin beds instead of double bed as we requested upon booking and he confirmed it during the check in process. At first he said he couldn’t change the room because there was no more double bed available and asked if we requested it upon booking. It was ridiculous because he confirmed that before handed the key over. I asked further to clarify (I‘m a travel consultant so I’m very detailed) and eventually he asked us to bring our luggages back down and will give us a new key with a double bed. I made sure again that it was double bed and he replied impatiently with apparent annoyance that he didn’t have anymore double bed so he gave us a triple room (1 DBL+ 1 SGL). I thanked him and went straight to our room a bit annoyed. He could have made that situation as a great customer service by saying they’re sorry for the wrong room assignment and as a token of apology upgraded the room. That way I would have given 5 stars review instead.

Having arrived in Paris by Eurostar, it was necessary to take the underground train to the hotel. The receptionist had been particularly helpful on the telephone prior to our arrival and spoke perfect English.
The room was for three persons but was somewhat cramped. The room had a small balcony which looked out onto the busy street below.
Breakfast was very good indeed.

Great location next to a train station. Loads of amazing cafe's, restaurants & shops nearby. Yeah I can agree with other reviews that the bathrooms are a bit small, but any place I have stayed in Paris is like this. This is a decent little hotel with no frills in a decent location, clean rooms and friendly staff.

3 of us stayed here in December and our room smelled of vomit for our entire stay. We let reception know within minutes and they were unable to offer a suitable alterative. We asked to speak to a manager but were told to email. I have since emailed twice and have had absolutely NO response. Very dissapointed and would not recommend staying here as if anything goes wrong it will not be addressed

The hotel is located 5 minutes away from the Bibliothèque François Mitterrand metro station (Line 14) and is therefore really convenient and accessible. The neighborhood in which it is located is very lively and full of restaurants and shops. The hotel rooms are spacious and clean and we found everything to be in working order. The breakfast is rich and varied and one can really find everything needed for a breakfast, especially considering the price of the rooms. The staff are the jewel in the crown of this hotel, because they are all truly welcoming, friendly, helpful and professional. And it is not just a saying or an impression, but a fact: our daughter felt ill to the point of fainting and everyone immediately did their utmost to ensure that she received all the help possible, in the shortest time possible. And then they were also very close on a human level, which is not always found in large hotels. At Sanso, however, there is still a way to have human relationships beyond the customer-hotelier relationship and this is certainly an added value, to be rewarded with a well-deserved 5 stars.

Staff were very polite, helpful and provided us with any information we needed on the area. The room was very spacious and comfortable for a family with all the facilities needed. We were offered free tea and coffee in the reception area which was a very nice touch. When checking out we asked if we could leave our luggage whilst we spent our last day in the city which they catered for excellently, they gave us a ticket to bring back to collect our luggage which we thought was a great idea for keeping peoples luggage secure. The hotel is in a great location for public transport with both the bus and metro station only a couple of mins walk. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting paris and will use the hotel again if we return in the future

Looking at the pictures of the hotel online, I was super excited but upon arrival I was very disappointed at various parts of the experience. The biggest issue I had was the lack of facilities in the room. In the pictures I saw a kitchenette but upon arrival there was no fridge, no microwave, no kettle - so so disappointing! The kitchenette was locked and when we asked reception to open it (charged at €40 according to the sign in the room), they said management had decided the kitchenette could not be opened.

The balcony had water dripping from somewhere above and sadly that meant we could not enjoy it as much as we would have liked.

The toilet brush was absolutely disgusting and had clearly not been changed for a very long time. The shower in the bath had holes in the pipe so I often felt under attack from the water. It was a very uncomfortable experience.

All in all I was very happy to leave and I am glad to be home.

Just checked out of a one week stay in this hotel. It was absolutely excellent for its value! We were two minutes from a metro/RER station and a bus stop so the whole city was easily accessible, but the neighborhood itself was quiet in the evenings so we could sleep peacefully and wake refreshed. The room was much larger than I anticipated, and cleaned to perfection daily. We did not take the breakfast option, though it was available daily. The reception desk staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Paris!

I just had a really bad experience with this hotel. I booked a family room with free cancelation 1½ months ago through hotels.com after thorough research. However, today, 5 days prior to my stay I received a message ONLY IN FRENCH to contact the property. The person then tells me that they have cancelled my booking because they have had trouble with my credit card. As I have experienced no other problems with my card (even booked other hotels at the same time which were pre-authorized) it seems like a lame excuse. I am quite convinced they they were just trying to get out of the free cancellation. They did not even offer me another solution so now I am stuck trying to find a famility room in Paris with very little notice (=impossible). No way I will ever stay here.

Lovely boutique like hotel. Friendly staff and very helpful. Provided an early check in and we really appreciated it after travelling 23 hours. The rooms were impeccable. Extremely clean and lovely smelling. The beds we're comfortable and neatly done up each day. The location was quite convenient with many bakeries and other stores nearby. They had a lovely Halloween set up in October so they really get involved in each season. Breakfast was great as well.

Hi, the station (literally a 2 minute walk) is called Bibliothèque François Mitterrand. It is on the RER C and the Metro 14 (purple) line. To get to the hotel, make sure you exit at upper street level (not lower-street level). It's not clear on Google maps, but the hotel is just over a small bridge.
