We've been going here every November for years. If you need a big hotel or a large bedroom the Speria is not for you. If you want a bijou / boutique Paris hotel that is excellent in every respect then I would happily recommend the Speria. It is very well located and takes about 50 mins with one change from... More

I made a last-minute weekend visit to my relatives and booked via Expedia - very efficient and got me a good rate. I had room 205 which is on the second floor - single room. The bed was a comfortable double bed, the bathroom was very large with a bath and shower. The toilet was in a separate cubby hole.... More

Adorable property, great location and lovely staff! I really enjoyed my three night stay here; we had a room with a view on the street side and loved it! It is reasonably priced for Paris and very clean rooms. The hotel is close to metro, great restaurants and walking distance to many attractions.

Hotels in Paris, unless your budget allows an approach to 'luxury' class can be a bit 'uncertain': often an attractive entry hall is a front for poor rooms, poor room service, poor plumbing. So it is useful to note that when you find something worth the mention that the info is shared. We were very pleased with the Bastille Speria.... More

We had stayed at Hotel Bastille Speria before, and were looking forward to return the weekend of November 14 and 15. Tragedy hit Paris the night before. As American ex-pats living in France, the terrible events of November 13th brought back memories of 9-11. With sorrow, anger, and defiance...that a few evil people could attempt to restrict the freedoms of... More

Very nice and tidy room. Great location. Near the subway station, restaurants, beautiful sights,... On a return visit to Paris, I definitely go back to this hotel. Next time I will ask a room with a view on the streetside.

Hotel BS occupies a great location on the edge of the Marais with numerous cafes, bars, and restaurants on the doorstep. The Metro station at Place Bastille is close by (take exit 8 for the hotel). We had a very pleasant room (402) with spacious bathroom. Unlike some reviewers we experienced no problem with noise, either from adjoining rooms or... More

Expect to be woken up with very loud lengthy waste collection around 6am. We are not light sleepers but the continuous very early street noise was impossible to stand. Not exactly the nice place where one could get a rest.

Stayed here when we joined a friend from Canada to have a 2nd visit to Paris. Good value and friendly staff. Only gripe would be that they do not always leave tea bags in the room and we had to ask every day for them. Room was warm (too hot sometimes! and bathroom was good. About £100 for 5 night... More

Arrival: We arrived at 12.00 and the checkin time is 14.00. There were no problem leaving the luggage in the reception until we came back to get the room. Room: We got room 601 in the top floor. This room and room 607 faces the backyard, which is all quiet. The only thing you can hear is other people talking... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
