Liked staying at the Sorbonne again--I have been a few times over almost 20 years. Very helpful staff on reception and in the breakfast room. One suggestion--more soap in bathroom!

My friend and I had a decent stay at this hotel in March -- the room was small, but well designed. The location was fantastic, although there was construction all the time. The big downside appeared about a month and a half later -- bedbugs! I don't say this lightly -- but since my friend and I couldn't have picked...

Dear Guest, thanks for your comments. Hygiene is obviously of the utmost importance in our hotels, and all the mattresses at the Sorbonne Design Hotel had been changed for new ones shortly before your stay with us. Also, no other guests have made any similar comments since your stay, and as far as we can tell, bedbugs do not wait...

This is a budget hotel with the advantages of comfort, the very best location, helpful welcoming and friendly staff, and quality breakfast and service. This hotel has been refurbished in recent time and the decor is very impressive giving it a real feeling of an upmarket boutique hotel. The hotel had been recommended by family who had recently visited Paris...

I found the Hotel de la Sorbonne after doing quite a bit of research online. The hotel was excellent, with modern newly decorated boutique rooms, friendly staff and a great location. The hotel has is very central, located only a five minute walk from the Luxemborg stop on the RER line which brought us directly into Paris from CDG airport....

My husband and I recently took a weekend break to Paris to watch some tennis at Roland Garros. We decided to take a risk and save some money on a hotel room. Usually we try to stay at 4 star hotels but because of the tennis hotel rates were increased. This hotel is only 2 star, but it was fantastic....

I stayed at the hotel with my 5-year-old daughter, with a friend who brought her 5-year-old as well. Although the hotel doesn't particularly cater to children, we really enjoyed our stay and felt very welcome. They even arranged for a babysitter. Our rooms were of decent size, with two single beds pushed together to make a double. Very cool design...

We stayed here for 3 nights and could not fault it at all. The hotel is beatifully decorated and the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help. Our room was on the fourth floor and, whilst being on the small side, was scrupulously clean, well laid out and decorated to a high standard. Our room was cleaned...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
