Lovely little hotel and fabulous location. Rooms small but perfectly formed with air con, computer for the kids and a lovely clean bathroom. I would stay there again.

This hotel was great! We made our decision to stay here based on the Tripadvisor reviews and we weren't disappointed. The room was a little small but that's Paris hotels for you. It was fantastic having the Mac in the room as we could access information on Paris, trains etc. Staff were extremely helpful and polite (unlike some of our...

We were traveling all over Europe, staying in all manner of places, and I was a little nervous about Paris knowing that you don't always get what you pay for. This hotel was more than what I expected -- the front desk was so great and accommodating. The room was so clean and put together -- loved the bed treatment....

Dear Guests, Many thanks for your very positive review. It's encouraging to know that all our efforts to make you feel at home are being noticed! I just wanted to say that the iMac interface is on the point of being changed for a much simpler one (following our remarks and guest feedback like yours). We look forward to welcoming...

A 30 minute train ride from Paris CDG airport takes you to Luxembourg station from which the Hotel Sorbonne is a short walk. It is tucked neatly away from the busy streets nearby and Notre Dame Cathedral and the Luxembourg Palace and Garden (Jardin Du Luxembourg) are a short walk away. Our room was compact but finished to a good...

I really wanted to like this hotel. It's in a great location and convenient to many of the top sites in Paris. The desk staff were very helpful and responsive to any request we had. The decor was great and it was convenient having an iMac in the room as my daughter shorted out the converter our first day in...

Dear guests, Many thanks for your comments. Unfortunately it is impossible to compare room size and noise problems for a similarly-priced Parisian hotel and one in the countryside. As you can see in others guests comments, we still have one of the best value prices in the Latin Quarters. Our air conditioning system is adjustable to make it comfortable, even...

This is a small, recently renovated hotel in a great location. We easily walked to Notre Dame, Les Halles, Pompidou Center and Louvre from the hotel. The hotel's breakfast was ok, just worth the price but nothing more. The other reviews describe the hotel quite accurately, so I won't go into more details. We stayed one night in room 12,...

Dear Guests, Many thanks for your comments. We are very sorry that your stay wasn’t as enjoyable as you you expected, but one point is not true: our rooms have brand new soundproofed windows. Paris is a very vibrant city, part of its charm that makes it a very attractive destination. Sensitivity to noise sensibility is also different from person...

This very beautifully decorated hotel is situeted in the Quartier Latin. It's only a short walking distance down to the Seine. Our room was on the 5th floor, no. 55 to be exact, and faced the back yard. That suited us perfectly - no noise at all from the street. The room wasn't very big, but big enough for me...

My friend and I were both visiting Paris for the first time and looked long and hard for a hotel that suited our needs. I think we made the right choice with Hotel de la Sorbonne. Dear Guests, Many thanks for your positive comments. We will soon be installing a new version for Internet access that will be simpler and easier to use. Unfortunately we have no solution for the French keyboard, perhaps a funny part of your trip to France! We are always trying to do our best to have rooms ready for guests' early...

The design aspect and location next to the Sorbonne in the Latin Quarter are central elements so if you're kind of artistic and like a mix of old-fashioned French/modern art then you'll love it here. It's also totally clean and the staff are nice and help with any questions or problems, and the computer/internet/tv in the room is very useful....

This place was exactly what we wanted - all the coziness and warmth of a small B&B, but with the elegance and finesse of a modern boutique hotel. The staff was courteous and charming, the room was small (as expected) but gorgeous, and every amenity was clean, modern, and fresh. We stayed in the top floor suite - at the...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
