We really enjoyed our stay here, so much so we have recommended our son to stay in the same place. We are a couple from Ireland in our 50s and it suited us perfectly. However I know it will suit our son because it is located close to all the trendy bars and restaurants in the Saint Germain area. We... More

We stayed at the Hotel de la Sorbonne in early January. The room was very trendy and well maintained. Although the bathroom was small, it served its purpose well and was very modern. The in-room Mac was very useful and the staff was amazing at recommending local restaurants and the best way to get around Paris. The only complaint would... More

Dear guests, Renovation is very nearly finished at our hotel. Soon all the rooms will be designer, and we've also installed air conditioning ready for the warm weather. Just the final touches are left to do: placing the fabric wall coverings, painting and carpet laying, all of which should be a lot quieter than the early work, when some noise... More

Enjoyed our stay of 4 nights in Hotel de la Sorbonne. Fantastic location beside St. Germaine des Pres. Lovely rooms , a little small, but very clean and well decorated. Mostly decorated in Designer Guild materials and as we are interior decorators we were extremely impressed We spoke to Designer Guild in London and their Agent says she will be... More

Great location in a silent street off of St. Michel Boulevard, near RER B and the metro, very friendly staff (all of them), beautiful rooms. I never trust the pictures of rooms - usually everything is smaller and more run-down, so i tuned down my expectations. Especially knowing that all hotel rooms in Paris are a size of some bathrooms... More

I loved this little boutique hotel. The staff & service were excellent, the position perfect, the details spot on. Its still in the process of being renovated, which makes it a little noisy, but its easy to see the butterfly its turning into, & i look forward to seeing it finished, & visiting again.

Dear Guest, we are very happy to see that you liked our hotel. The final part of our complete renovation program will be finished mid-March, and the main work which caused some noise is now over, leaving just decoration to be done (so no more noise!). New Deluxe and Top Floor rooms are currently being finished with amazing views of... More

We had booked this hotel for my 21st birthday and were very disappointed to be told there was a problem "with water" in our room. We were transfered to a different hotel (the rooms here were clean and warm but not as nice as the superior room we had booked) and we were given a full refeund for the booking.... More

Dear Guests, many thanks for your comment. Following a leak in the room that was to be yours - leaving it unusable - and as our hotel was fully booked, we were obliged to transfer you to another hotel. We understand your disappointment at not being able to stay with us. In order to compensate you for this last-minute change,... More

Very nice place to be, in the middle of Paris. You get your own Mac, pretty cool. I booked a single room which was cute - but can't tell how family rooms are like, if any.

Warm and cosy hotel with tasteful modern interior decaration. Every room has an iMac which you also use as tv. Breakfast is of international type with yoghurt, eggs, toasts, croissants, ham, cheese, marmelade etc. Hotell is located Wall-to-wall with Sorbonne university, and with only two minutes walk to Place Saint-Michel / Metro. We stayed at Hotel de la Sorbonne for four nights over New Year and were delighted with the location and the standard of this hotel - while it is without doubt small, it is beautifully designed and decorated and has every amenity you would need for a city break. Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
