My friends and I just spent an amazing 10 days at this oasis within walking distance of the best and classy parts of Paris. The hotel furnishings from reception to the rooms are pure class. Rooms are big and the service is immaculate. Every staff member from Concierge to Bellboys and Cleaners just rolls out the red carpet. We were in Paris for Roland Garros and there were lots of other Guests who were there for tennis. Tennis pickups and drop offs were a breeze at an extra cost of cause.
We stayed at the hotel for our anniversary. Hotel staff is rude and lacks in customer service. Valet parking had accident in our car which caused lots of damage to the vehicle we had wait for around 30 minutes for manager to come out and speak to us about hotel driver damaging our car still no apology rude manager. We didn’t even check out and not requested our car out not sure why our car was driven at the time. We had to drive back to London with 3 young children. It’s been 3 months we been chasing repair from hotel and explained it’s our everyday use car for school pick ups and other reasons but still it takes manager 2-3 weeks to reply to simple email who is defiantly not trained to deal with matters like this. Requested information few things in emails which been completely ignored it’s like they don’t even acknowledged what we requested.…
Just had an amazing 10 days in this deserving 5 star rated hotel. The furnishings from reception to the rooms is classy, the service from each staff member absolutely stunning. As an English speaker I was not made to feel like a foreigner (as is typical of establishments in France).
So we stayed here in Feb for our anniversary. Paid for valet parking. The Valet smashed our car pics available. The hotel no apology and we are still arguing with their insurance company. They take two weeks to respond to any correspondence. Please dont stay here. We had three young children and were left to drive home in a severely damaged car which we can't drive as the police have said it is illegal. mathilde vial is dealing with the complaint but rarely responds.
I have never seen 5 stars hotel with absence of mini bar, inability to pay the restaurant bill from deposit, and waiting time for room service ( regular salad) 2hs 45 min and stuff who hangs up on me.
As usual, check in is at 3:00 and they are very strict about it. We arrived at 10:00 am from the states and was forced to wait until 3:00 to check in even though numerous people came in after us and got their rooms almost immediately. They said our room was “different” than everyone else’s. The hotel is ok but for what you get, it’s way overpriced. The “Superior King” is much smaller than an average Holiday Inn or Motel 6 room in the states. There were two decorative pillows on the bed but no sleeping pillows. We had to request pillows from housekeeping several times. The upside is they had wash cloths. Most European hotels never have them so not sure how they wash their face. The location is nice and close to places of interest but be prepared for a 1-2 hour cab/Uber ride from the airport. Traffic is as you would expect in Paris. You sit still as much as you move. Uber quoted me one price but charged nearly double due to the traffic. (€135 one way) My advice is that if you want to check in as soon as you arrive, book the night before. That way you can check in right away. Maybe.…
With COVID-19 now (hopefully!) receding, 2022 promises to be a return to conferences, at least a bit. The first one for me was in Paris so it was back to the Hotel Du Collectionier, which was also the conference venue. What surprised me a bit was that I couldn’t really detect any significant work that might have happened during covid; the hotel seems content to inhabit the ‘faded glamour’ spot that so many often do. The room was pretty functional – some plug sockets were in quite odd places – but it worked. Ironing board was included, which was great. But it was quite noisy – not the quietest room I’ve stayed in by far. As for the rest of the hotel, the conference ran relatively smoothly, although at time I felt the staff could have left the food out a little longer for those of us running late! One of the big selling points here is the location, which remains great, and obviously hasn’t changed. Overall, not bad but not great.…
Set on a not too busy street 10 minutes from the Arc de Tromphe and the Champs Elysee. The front desk staff and concierge were very helpful, and let me use the phone to rearrange flight bookings when my cell phone would not connect. The rooms are not too small, and the bed is good. The coffee maker in my room was a bit stiff to open and close. The bathroom has a separate bath and shower cubicle - which makes the shower cubicle a bit small. Choice of English TV channels is a bit limited, but then this is France.
Hotel has a good location near Parc Monceau and Champs Elysee. There is a fairly good service but not portier. Breakfast is quite extensive (buffet). Room has enough closet space. Bed is firm and good. Shower in a bath. Fast wifi. This is rather big hotel, not very intimate.
Pros: concierge and front desk staff were courteous and working hard. The lower level common bathrooms were beautiful and nicely maintained. Cons: Hotel seems understaffed, lobby smells, and attention to detail in the guest rooms is totally missing. Heard another guest complaining the temperature in her room was so hot she was sweating each night she was here. Unfortunately we had the same experience and it was hard to sleep. Maintenance was called several times in our first 24 hours and so has housekeeping. The shower head stand was broken and was promptly removed and replaced. They came to address the air two times and nothing changed. The bidet spray was leaking and there was water dripping all over the marble floor. We had to call 4 times over 2 days to get an iron and an ironing board. Blow dryer cut out after a few minutes from over heating and looked like the lint filter at the back had never been cleaned. Came back to our room after the first day and and it was not serviced. Toiletries provided were half made in China and very poor quality. Would not stay here again.…
