The room was spotlessly clean but very basic and all the staff were very helpful and polite. Negatives were no telephone to contact reception and no tea or coffee making facilities. Notices told us that drinks were available, at a cost, through 24 hour room service but at 120 euros per night for a double room this is NOT value...

Situated close to museums, tourist attractions and the Moulin Rouge. Rooms are very basic and quite small. Can be uncomfortable in hot weather without air conditioning. This is a typical French old style hotel. Breakfast, if included is very basic which includes tea or coffee, a small glass of orange juice, a croissant, half a baguette and some butter and...

Why is Rick STEVES's recommending this? After we checked in, I looked online at other hotels in the area, and this was no terrific bargain. No air conditioning, lost our reservation and said we had no room. When I produced the emails showing our reservation and credit card info we gave 4 months in advance, the clerk made a phone...

Reception staff = Great Location = Great Rooms = Great for the low price Cleaning and kitchen staff = A disgrace beyond imagination. Felt like dealing with 13 year olds. No problem with them not speaking English, but I do have a problem with them laughing when we need help and obviously talking negatively about us in French. Needs to...

The hotel was tiny and quiet. We stayed on a random weekend in March so there wasn't many people staying there. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was a croissant and baguette in the morning with coffee or hot chocolate. It was so close to the Sacre Coeur and the metro, which took us every where we want to...

The hotel is in a great location and the rooms are cleaned meticulously every day, including fresh towels and toiletries. Everything is very basic, but if you don't plan on staying in your room except for sleeping, it's great. The staff were friendly and very helpful (especially as during our stay my sister became very unwell and we needed to...

It was a great location and quiet, there are croissants and coffee for breakfast and the staff were friendly. However there were a few downsides: there is a £2/night per person extra fee which isn't particularly clear, you have to leave your key hanging at reception when you leave (which didn't feel very safe), and one of our bed covers...

It's nice, clean hotel with really friendly staff. Well situated , close to tube, ships, restaurants . Breakfast was good, I was there with my boyfriend , we had two separate bed and when we asked to change room for us they ask us to pay around €210 which was ridiculously over priced

Staying in Montmartre

Neighborhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colors, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
