No doubt, the 9th district is definitely the new Marais. Discovering PANACHE 3 rue Geoffroy, an inspiring name for a brand new restaurant with tasty "bento" like meals to share, genuinely cooked with fresh noble products and great champagne to drink, in a refined design decor, great soundtrack signature and flawless service by friendly waiters that achieve to epitomise the... It needs a real manager, not only in the hotel but even more in the restaurant ! You overpay in a hotel just to be in the heart of Paris ... Rooms are less than average and service is poor.... fortunately, there are good places for value in Paris but Panache isn't one of them. As far as the restaurant... More

Stayed here on the back of a work trip visiting designers and makers for my business and I wanted to love this place so much given I am partial to lovely looking things but it's a bit 'all form and no function'. Looks so beautiful and indeed room design is lovely. Was an old damp smell in the stairwell and... More

I stayed 3 nights at Hotel Panache and couldn't speak highly enough of the hotel and the room on offer. I requested a balcony and to my delight my room was equipped with two balconies, aircon, fast, reliable wifi and a large bath! This was just a normal room and I found for the price I paid it was fantastic... More

Stayed here along with a colleague for 4 days in August, and whilst the rooms were nice and the location great, I found the staff and service at best complacent and at worst just plain rude and unhelpful. My fridge was broken during a week it was 36 degrees, and after asking for it to be fixed twice, it never... More

I stayed here for 3 nights and was pleasantly surprised. The location was perfect, it's on the corner of a quiet street but is within a few minutes walk of shops, cafe's restaurants, metro stations etc. So convenient! It's also a 20 min walk from Gare Du Nord if you are travelling by Eurostar. My room was a standard room... More

This was our last meal in France. And my favorite. It was the day after the attacks in Nice and I did not want to sit outside. Just a peek into the window, we knew it was the perfect place. Black and white striped tables. They had tapas that night. We had tomato salad, gnocchi, ravioli, a delicious bacon. This... More

The hotel is very central located, only 2 minutes walk from Grand Boulvards tube station. I read an article about this structure in Vogue which described it with enthusiasm. I have to say that my stay fulfilled all my expectations. My room was very well sized, extremely clean, quiete and with a tiny balcony overlooking the main street. The staff... More

We spent two nights here - great location and thank goodness for air conditioning! We asked for a room with a bathtub, and got a great, large room (including bathtub). The hotel is really conveniently located to Central Paris and the metro. Our room faced a busy street, but it was still very quiet and comfortable. I was happy with... More

Just minutes from Plaza St Ana. Moderately priced, yet with facilities and services of a more expensive hotel. Breakfast buffet was a treat with Spanish offerings on top of the usual. No shortage of good restaurants & cafes, travel shops & sights around. Would return on bext trip to Madrid.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
