The hotel has a great location just minutes away from Saint Germain boulevard, Cafe de Flore, best shops, Le Bon Marche etc. The rooms are small but very cosy. Nicely decorated and functional. The bathroom is neat. Liked very much the breakfast area. It is cozy and makes daily newspapers available to guests.

I love these small, intimate hotels. They are the best! Service is just so good here! The location is great - 6th arrondissement right next door to the Luxembourg Gardens, The Sorbonne, and Boulevard Saint-Michel, Montparnasse, etc. I was staying at another hotel and needed help getting my bags to the Recamier - the concierge actually went with me a... Stayed here for 4 nights with my wife and 3 teenager girls. Had 2 connecting rooms. I don't have a lot of experience with european hotels to gauge it against, but was pleasantly surprised that rooms were not that small. Obviously they were smaller than what we are used to, but still had plenty of room. It is in a... More

Terrific location. Staff very helpful. Hotel very adorable. Would definitely stay again. The concierge was very helpful with cabs to train station. Also advice on tours and HoHo buses. Room service was very good food. Had early morning cappuccinos and usually light evening meals. All very good especially for such a small hotel. Really loved it and will stay again.

Great location to explore the city but still extremely peaceful when you want to get out of the hustle and bustle. Small rooms but perfectly designed to make the best of the space and feels very luxurious. We booked room 64 and had a little terrace big enough for 2 which was lovely. Staff were amazing and knew the area... More

The Recamier is a wonderful hotel in every way. Its location is ideal, in the heart of the 6e arrondisement. The rooms are sophisticated and classy, and the staff is helpful and friendly. Stayed for 5 nights. Nice hotel design. Would not recommend Bottle of water only for first night, after that must purchase from minibar. Did not replace shampoo even one day. Had to ask. Rooms are tiny. Breakfast is ok, not great. Several bum steers on museum openings and restaurants. Nice people but overall we were disappointed

This is a lovely hotel. The beds are so comfortable, it's quiet, and in a great neighborhood. I highly recommend! However, do NOT book via Expedia. The hotel Le Recamier is a small boutique hotel, in one of the best locations of Saint Germain-de-Près. 6 floors, with elevator. Some rooms have view of the Eiffel Tower, but mostly you'll see the Saint Sulpice Church, made famous by the book Da Vinci Code. 2 blocks for the Boulevard Saint Germain, Jardin du Luxembourg and Rue de Rennes.... The Hotel Reclaimer is a beautiful jewel of a hotel. It is tucked away in a quiet spot but it close to everything Paris has to offer. I have stayed in other hotels in Paris, but nothing as enjoyable as this hotel. The decor is lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Discreetly nestled behind the trees on Place Saint Sulpice in the heart of Saint Germain des Prés area, Hotel Récamier is about to become a new exclusive address in Paris. The hotel should meet the expectations of travellers in search of confidential addresses such as those exchanged between well travelled and demanding friends.Half of the 24 rooms have a direct view on the place. The rooms have been superbly revamped by the renowned interior designer Jean Louis Deniot who was inspired to create 24 entirely different rooms with one theme per floor. On a classical basis he has added some eclecticism inspired by the various 20th century decorative styles. You will find neither hyper exuberance nor minimalism: here we are talking real Parisian elegance. ... more   less
