This is a hotel that has so much going for it: central location, fair pricing and excellent service! Let me start with location: It is walking distance to many of the major monuments & sites in central Paris. Depending on your pace, 5 minutes to the Tuileries Gardens (tack on 3 more minutes to the Louvre), 20 minutes to the Ile de la Cite, 10 minutes to the Opera House. If you like to shop, you are so close the Grand Magasins and most major haute couture boutiques, 15 minutes to Samritaine.

Price: If you did a pricing search for similar a category of hotels in the area, you'll find they are 30-50 euros a night more! Stay here and save your extra money for shopping (or dining!).

Service: Efficient, English-speaking, and helpful!

Note: The hotel also has vacation apartments across the tiny street (same website to reserve). If you stay in one, there is no lift to get to any of its 4 floors so if you have mobility issues, stay in the hotel rooms instead.

I cannot write enough to explain how comfortable we felt at the Hotel Lion D’Or. We had a very large family—12 in all, and the 4 girls loved their room in the residence—across the street— with its loft bed. The grandparents got the first floor large room which was very spacious for French hotels. The upstairs rooms are reached by somewhat narrow stairs but there is a small elevator. I think that adds to the charm.
The concierges staff—Hamza, Shannon, Alyce and Laura were extremely helpful in reaching French restaurants, or tourist sites or vans for a return to the airport. As well they seemed genuinely interested in our family and gracious—engaged our children in a fun way. As you can imagine we were a large group but tried not to dominate the hotel. As the street outside—rue de la Sourdiere—is very quiet we could congregate outside when necessary.
The hotel breakfast—open 7-11? Is beautifully presented—cut up fruit, selection of jams, croissant, quiche, hardboiled egg, sliced meat, cheese and bread. The coffee machines can make latte, cappuccino, or hot chocolate. We had a particular reservation time to eat as the breakfast room is small but charming.
We were in Paris in June and one day the temperature reached 100 degrees. The A/C was perfect and kept us very comfortable. One couple from a B and B without A/C straggled in, asking for a room and they were graciously accommodated and grateful.
There are many guests—not just from the US but also France, Spain, South America, Germany—so we tried to keep our voices modulated in the lobby and at breakfast.
The location can’t be beat—5 minutes from the Tuileries metro, walking distance to the louvre, musee d’Orsay. You are located in a very upscale part of Paris, but yet it feels relaxed. There is a perfect grocery store for sandwiches, drinks, chips at the end of the street and an ATM around the corner. Laundromat is 3 blocks away and I left simple instructions in English on a small sheet of paper as I thought the instruction on the wall were still confusing. 6 euros for a washing machine, 1 euro for 8 minute dryer. You can have a drink in the outside nearby cafe as you wait for your clothes to dry.
If Americans would greet waiters and clerks with a “Bonjour” they would see how the French are very friendly and helpful. In 8 days I only encountered one difficult person—-at the Versailles gardens. Tried to go out to get sandwiches, then back in using the same ticket—got scolded!
Hope you get the same wonderful experience at Hotel Lion D’Or. I will tell anyone this is a fabulous place to stay! Merci!

Spatious rooms for two adults + 2 teenagers, or one another adult. Kitchen with Equimpment, on the side of room on the walls are mirrors, which makes room more looking spatious. The Hotel has own building with appartments just across the tiny street. very smartly done.

Ideally located between Louvre/Tuileries and Marche St Honore
Quiet street so even if your room faces the street, you should be fine (wednesday is bins day, and the lorries turn up early).
Rooms are not big but for business stay, they are clean, big enough, the bathroom is clean. My bed was big enough and plenty of space in the bathroom. Air conditioning worked well and whilst it was 30 degrees outside, it was pleasant in the room.
Breakfast was a bit of a let down. No orange or grapefruit juice...Croissants were lovely, but i would have loved some scrambled eggs not just a hardboiled egg.
Staff was lovely and personnable, attentive yet not intrusive.
One health and safety note to the manager, ramps should be installed by the step immediately after the lift. The automated lights don't come on until you're further up in the corridor, and unless you know there is a step, you might trip.
Overal I recommend and I'll be back

I and my husband had a wonderful stay at the hotel Lion D'or du Louvre. First of all, thank you the team for making our stay memorable with a nice décoration on the valentine day. The team made our heat melt with sweet things they prepared for us like small gifts, a card with our name and pétale roses. How sweet they are! This hotel is well located in the central of Paris. You can easily reach some metro stations nearby, just 5 minutes of walking. The room was clean and fully équipements. The staff was very friendly. They always pay attention to the need of clients. Because of covid-19 so we could not go out for dining. Don't worry! This hotel propose a room service with a quiche, a cake and a drink for a full menu. The price is reasonable. Look at the pictures I post, you can't resist their menu :)): They were delicious. Their dishes were homemade with the bio good quality. Trust me, you won't regrett for your order. 😃 I advise you to do a reservation directly with the hotel to get free breakfast( a buffet). Moreover in the evening, I ordered 2 massages for us in the room. The massageur was skillful. The music and the atmosphere were so perfect. They selected the bio products which is good for our health. This hotel really care about the quality of their products they provide for their guests. I totally enjoyed and relaxed. I highly recommend hotel Lion d'or du Louvre . I definitely comeback here. Specially thanks to Bachir who welcomed us and take good care of our stay.

Great staff, great location - but upgrade to a bigger room for a better experience. The standard size room was far too small but also lacked in shelves or counter space for luggage. Luckily we were able to upgrade to a bigger room which is much better. The location is Fantastic and we can easily use public transport to get around the city. I would also recommend bringing all toiletries as nothing additional is provided.

Chose this hotel due to its price and relatively closeness to the most prominent tourist attractions such as the Louvre, Palais, Opera House, shopping areas, and Champs-Élysées. Getting to the Eiffel will require taking the metro, near Montmarte, etc.
Single room on the 2nd floor, decent room size,

Cons- lack of charging stations. a steamer/iron amenities wasn't provided. There body wash/shampoo was empty when I arrived, good thing I brought my own.

They offer complimentary breakfast if that is in your package, if not it is 15 euros.

If youre always out and about and need a decent place to stay that is within distance to everything this could be a place to stay at.

Excellent location but quiet so you can get a good sleep. Price is half of what we paid last time, average $322 euro per night. Room accommodated 4 of us. 2nd bed is in a crawl space loft so you can't stand.

Lots of mirrors, kitchenette, dining table and sofa. There isn't a lot of counter space so this helped.

Bring your own toiletries including shampoo and conditioner because what is offered is a multi-purpose liquid soap which isn't great for long hair and tangles.

Walk over to Yannick Martin, Happy Cafe on Rivoli or Pret a Mange for an inexpensive breakfast nearby (relatively speaking).

From this location we were able to walk to most of our tourist destinations. It was also easy to get an Uber.

There may not be an elevator so the trek up the stairs with your luggage may be challenging; however, this typically comes with the charm of Euro boutique accommodations.

Staff was courteous. We would definitely book
this again with our two kids.

Excellent location! Louvre museum, bus stations, metro stations and restaurants are within 5 minutes walk.
We traveled 4 of us and my husband's sister and her husband. We booked two different types rooms; family apartment and double suite. Family apartment had plenty of space, our daughters enjoyed the loft. kitchen and bathroom was very clean. I loved their towels. they were very fluffy. The double suite was smaller than north American size but we expected.

The staffs were so nice, friendly and very helpful. They always asked if we need help whenever we were at the front desk area. They booked the bus tours and taxi not a problem. if you want filtered water, they will fill up the filtered water for you with free of costs.

Breakfast was excellent. I enjoyed their croissants and home made apple cake. they filled up the food right away so you won't miss any of their food items.

All of us recommend this hotel for your stay.

I have stayed in many boutique and budget friendly hotels in Paris, but this hotel was the perfect location for a short trip where I didn’t want to spend too much time getting around. On a small street off the touristy Rue di Rivoli, it is easy to step quickly into a charming world of hidden treasures such as the rue de Vivienne indoor shopping passage or the beautifully renovated National Library (Richelieu), find a chocolate shop (I recommend heartily L’instant Cacao for the beautiful chocolates and perhaps the friendliest service in Paris), retreat into a small « hidden »garden, and then instantly pop back to the famous attractions—and it is hard to get too lost with the Louvre spanning most of the arrondissement. I knew I was going to have a very small room, but it was efficient and modern and mostly quiet—and it really worked for a shorter stay. The staff was quite helpful.

I wanted to arrange something ahead of time online but I didn’t trust them so we flew into CDG and just went to the exit with the taxis. I had the hotel name and address typed out and gave it to the driver. It was Sunday morning and I believe it was 45 Euros and took about 40 minute ride. A couple of days before leaving we asked the concierge to order a taxi and that was about 70 Euros. I guess you can ask the driver from the airport about a return trip. Hope this helps. Enjoy Paris!! We certainly did.

hi, is the hotel easy to get to from cdg airport? what are the options?
Answer from Brian99993
Oxford, United Kingdom558 contributions245 helpful votes
You can, of course take a taxi from CDG for €50. Alternatively, you can take a bus/coach from CDG to the centre of Paris, very close to the Garnier Opera and walk from there. It will take you around 20 minutes. We found the easiest and fastest way was to take the RER train from CDG to either the Tuilleries or Pyramides metro stations (you need to change at Chatelet/Halles) If you get a direct train, so much the better. The changeover at Chatelet/Halles is a bit confusing but it is well signposted. Please remember to keep your ticket for the Metro journey. The walk from the Tulleries metro station to the Hotel is definitely more direct than Pyramides but the latter will give a better sense of the area. It is longer but again it does not have an elevator so you will have to haul the luggage up the stairs. The cost of the RER+Metro for two is around €22. The other advantage of the RER is that you get to see parts of Paris that most tourists do not usually see.
