The concierges staff—Hamza, Shannon, Alyce and Laura were extremely helpful in reaching French restaurants, or tourist sites or vans for a return to the airport. As well they seemed genuinely interested in our family and gracious—engaged our children in a fun way. As you can imagine we were a large group but tried not to dominate the hotel. As the street outside—rue de la Sourdiere—is very quiet we could congregate outside when necessary.
The hotel breakfast—open 7-11? Is beautifully presented—cut up fruit, selection of jams, croissant, quiche, hardboiled egg, sliced meat, cheese and bread. The coffee machines can make latte, cappuccino, or hot chocolate. We had a particular reservation time to eat as the breakfast room is small but charming.
We were in Paris in June and one day the temperature reached 100 degrees. The A/C was perfect and kept us very comfortable. One couple from a B and B without A/C straggled in, asking for a room and they were graciously accommodated and grateful.
There are many guests—not just from the US but also France, Spain, South America, Germany—so we tried to keep our voices modulated in the lobby and at breakfast.
The location can’t be beat—5 minutes from the Tuileries metro, walking distance to the louvre, musee d’Orsay. You are located in a very upscale part of Paris, but yet it feels relaxed. There is a perfect grocery store for sandwiches, drinks, chips at the end of the street and an ATM around the corner. Laundromat is 3 blocks away and I left simple instructions in English on a small sheet of paper as I thought the instruction on the wall were still confusing. 6 euros for a washing machine, 1 euro for 8 minute dryer. You can have a drink in the outside nearby cafe as you wait for your clothes to dry.
If Americans would greet waiters and clerks with a “Bonjour” they would see how the French are very friendly and helpful. In 8 days I only encountered one difficult person—-at the Versailles gardens. Tried to go out to get sandwiches, then back in using the same ticket—got scolded!
Hope you get the same wonderful experience at Hotel Lion D’Or. I will tell anyone this is a fabulous place to stay! Merci!

We traveled 4 of us and my husband's sister and her husband. We booked two different types rooms; family apartment and double suite. Family apartment had plenty of space, our daughters enjoyed the loft. kitchen and bathroom was very clean. I loved their towels. they were very fluffy. The double suite was smaller than north American size but we expected.
The staffs were so nice, friendly and very helpful. They always asked if we need help whenever we were at the front desk area. They booked the bus tours and taxi not a problem. if you want filtered water, they will fill up the filtered water for you with free of costs.
Breakfast was excellent. I enjoyed their croissants and home made apple cake. they filled up the food right away so you won't miss any of their food items.
All of us recommend this hotel for your stay.

Lots of mirrors, kitchenette, dining table and sofa. There isn't a lot of counter space so this helped.
Bring your own toiletries including shampoo and conditioner because what is offered is a multi-purpose liquid soap which isn't great for long hair and tangles.
Walk over to Yannick Martin, Happy Cafe on Rivoli or Pret a Mange for an inexpensive breakfast nearby (relatively speaking).
From this location we were able to walk to most of our tourist destinations. It was also easy to get an Uber.
There may not be an elevator so the trek up the stairs with your luggage may be challenging; however, this typically comes with the charm of Euro boutique accommodations.
Staff was courteous. We would definitely book
this again with our two kids.
"You’ll need to carry bags up stairs. Although the effort is worth it and only a small inconvenience. "Read full review
"Steps were tough to walk up with a large bag. Air conditioning in room was VERY nice. Go to the market perpendicular to the hotel street!"Read full review
