The Hotel du Lion d'Or Louvre is located in central Paris only a five minute walk to The Lourve. My husband, daughter and I stayed four nights and really enjoyed our stay. The staff were welcoming and happy to help with any questions we had regarding places to see, directions and restaurant recommendations. We stayed across the street in a family unit on the first floor. There is no lift in this building, but fortunately we were on the first floor and staff were happy to help us with our luggage. Our daughter loved her mezzanine room, she had been in fold out beds for four weeks and was over it. The beds were comfortable, the room tidy and it had a little kitchenette. It got a little noisy when people were coming and going, but I think this was more about the visiting guests in the room above than anything else. The breakfast was nice, but on Sunday it was busy and when we arrived for breakfast, it was obvious that the staff were struggling to stay on top of things. If we return to Paris, I would happily stay here again.

Dear Guest, Thank you so much for your wonderful review ! We are thrilled to hear that you and your family enjoyed your stay at the Lion d'Or Louvre and that our central location, just a five-minute walk from the Louvre, allowed you to fully experience the beauty of Paris. Being in the heart of the city certainly makes accessing major attractions and public transportation easy, and we’re glad this added to your overall experience. We appreciate your kind words about our staff. Our team is always committed to providing attentive service and assisting guests with any questions, whether it’s about sightseeing or restaurant recommendations. We will certainly pass along your compliments to them ! We are also delighted to hear that your daughter loved her mezzanine room. Our studios are designed to offer comfort and convenience, complete with a well-equipped kitchenette, making them perfect for family stays. Regarding the lack of an elevator in the residence, it’s true that many historic buildings in Paris don’t have one. However, we are pleased that our team was able to assist you with your luggage upon your arrival. Finally, we are glad that the breakfast met your expectations, although we regret that it was a bit busy that Sunday. To ensure a pleasant experience, we do offer limited time slots for breakfast to avoid overcrowding, and room service is also available if you prefer to enjoy breakfast in the comfort of your room. We would be honored to welcome you back on your next visit to Paris. Thank you for choosing the Lion d’Or, and we hope to see you again soon ! Warm regards, Meessan Assistant Manager Hôtel & Résidence Lion d'Or Louvre

I cannot write enough to explain how comfortable we felt at the Hotel Lion D’Or. We had a very large family—12 in all, and the 4 girls loved their room in the residence—across the street— with its loft bed. The grandparents got the first floor large room which was very spacious for French hotels. The upstairs rooms are reached by somewhat narrow stairs but there is a small elevator. I think that adds to the charm.
The concierges staff—Hamza, Shannon, Alyce and Laura were extremely helpful in reaching French restaurants, or tourist sites or vans for a return to the airport. As well they seemed genuinely interested in our family and gracious—engaged our children in a fun way. As you can imagine we were a large group but tried not to dominate the hotel. As the street outside—rue de la Sourdiere—is very quiet we could congregate outside when necessary.
The hotel breakfast—open 7-11? Is beautifully presented—cut up fruit, selection of jams, croissant, quiche, hardboiled egg, sliced meat, cheese and bread. The coffee machines can make latte, cappuccino, or hot chocolate. We had a particular reservation time to eat as the breakfast room is small but charming.
We were in Paris in June and one day the temperature reached 100 degrees. The A/C was perfect and kept us very comfortable. One couple from a B and B without A/C straggled in, asking for a room and they were graciously accommodated and grateful.
There are many guests—not just from the US but also France, Spain, South America, Germany—so we tried to keep our voices modulated in the lobby and at breakfast.
The location can’t be beat—5 minutes from the Tuileries metro, walking distance to the louvre, musee d’Orsay. You are located in a very upscale part of Paris, but yet it feels relaxed. There is a perfect grocery store for sandwiches, drinks, chips at the end of the street and an ATM around the corner. Laundromat is 3 blocks away and I left simple instructions in English on a small sheet of paper as I thought the instruction on the wall were still confusing. 6 euros for a washing machine, 1 euro for 8 minute dryer. You can have a drink in the outside nearby cafe as you wait for your clothes to dry.
If Americans would greet waiters and clerks with a “Bonjour” they would see how the French are very friendly and helpful. In 8 days I only encountered one difficult person—-at the Versailles gardens. Tried to go out to get sandwiches, then back in using the same ticket—got scolded!
Hope you get the same wonderful experience at Hotel Lion D’Or. I will tell anyone this is a fabulous place to stay! Merci!

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. The location is ideal, close to transit and walking distance to many attractions and restaurants. The breakfast was great, had everything we needed to start our day and staff were constantly cleaning and refilling. We were worried about noise since our room was in the bottom floor next to the street but the windows did a great job at canceling any outside noise and the bed was so comfortable we slept very soundly anyway. The highlight of our stay was definitely the staff though, they were all kind and helpful, always inquiring what they could do to make our stay better. I would stay here again on any return trips to Paris.

I stayed for a week at the end of August together with my husband in room 501 on the fifth floor. It does not appear in any photos on the hotel's official website. if I had seen it in advance despite the very central location of the hotel I certainly would not have booked it given that it is little more than a storage room with a bathroom literally the size of a wardrobe. breakfast is good but served in a tiny room, you are elbow to elbow with the other guests except if you go down at seven (on holiday you might like to sleep a little more than usual). There's barely room for two in the elevator without obviously backpacks or trolleys. On the positive side, the staff is very friendly and helpful.

This was my first overseas trip (so I am completely unbiased), we stayed 7 nights and had an amazing time. It’s in a central location where it’s easy to find buses and metros to just about anywhere in the city and out but is also in walking distance to a few great landmarks. Although the room was small it had all the necessities we needed and was very comfortable. The 24/h desk service also came in handy for an early flight! Would definitely recommend for anyone, short or long stays!

We arrived at the hotel around 11:30 having traveled 10 hours from the US and the front desk let us check-in early, the good times began at this great hotel! The room was very clean and modern, had all the appearance of maybe just remodeled and the bathroom as well. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom shower had both a hand held shower along with a large rain head shower. Tiled shower well done. The room had well stocked refrigerator with juice water, coke reasonably priced! The location just off of Rue Saint Honre was perfect especially if you’re a shopper, all well known high end stores are on this street. We opted for the breakfast each morning and food selection was great and fresh! A very friendly staff and manger who greeted us by name each morning at breakfast, the entire staff was great and always willing to help out when needed and spoke English!! I can’t speak highly enough of this hotel and would stay over and over again when visiting Paris for our yearly trips!

The room was spacious, location was ideal however the mattress was very uncomfortable and had a very bad crease inside. We had our three year old sleep between us and they charged us 40€ per night extra for her without any prior communication or warning of surcharge. For breakfast, we needed to “reserve” a spot a day prior due to lack of space however we were never told we needed to do this. Otherwise breakfast was ok.

Dear valued guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We regret to hear that you found our hotel to be not very kid-friendly. We appreciate your compliments regarding the spacious room and ideal location. However, we are sorry to learn about the discomfort you experienced with the mattress. Please be aware that we have recently renovated all the mattresses in our studios, and we have received numerous compliments from our clients regarding their comfort. We would like to clarify that during the check-in process, we do communicate our policy regarding additional charges for extra guests, including children. As per our policy, the maximum number of guests allowed in our rooms is four. However, we made an exception in your case by accommodating five people in the room. The supplementary charge of 40 euros per night for your three-year-old was communicated to you upon check-in. We hope for your understanding that this is in accordance with the hotel's policy, and it is necessary for us to adhere to it. We apologize for any confusion regarding breakfast reservations. As our breakfast room has limited space, we encourage guests to reserve their breakfast time in advance to prevent delays and ensure availability upon arrival. Typically, we communicate this information during the check-in process. Your feedback is appreciated, and we will make efforts to improve the clarity of our communication regarding breakfast arrangements in the future. Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience you experienced during your stay. We hope that despite these issues, you were still able to enjoy your time with us. If you have any further concerns or if there's anything else we can assist you with, please don't hesitate to contact us directly. Excellent location! Louvre museum, bus stations, metro stations and restaurants are within 5 minutes walk.
We traveled 4 of us and my husband's sister and her husband. We booked two different types rooms; family apartment and double suite. Family apartment had plenty of space, our daughters enjoyed the loft. kitchen and bathroom was very clean. I loved their towels. they were very fluffy. The double suite was smaller than north American size but we expected.

The staffs were so nice, friendly and very helpful. They always asked if we need help whenever we were at the front desk area. They booked the bus tours and taxi not a problem. if you want filtered water, they will fill up the filtered water for you with free of costs.

Breakfast was excellent. I enjoyed their croissants and home made apple cake. they filled up the food right away so you won't miss any of their food items.

All of us recommend this hotel for your stay.

Great staff, great location - but upgrade to a bigger room for a better experience. The standard size room was far too small but also lacked in shelves or counter space for luggage. Luckily we were able to upgrade to a bigger room which is much better. The location is Fantastic and we can easily use public transport to get around the city. I would also recommend bringing all toiletries as nothing additional is provided.

Excellent location but quiet so you can get a good sleep. Price is half of what we paid last time, average $322 euro per night. Room accommodated 4 of us. 2nd bed is in a crawl space loft so you can't stand.

Lots of mirrors, kitchenette, dining table and sofa. There isn't a lot of counter space so this helped.

Bring your own toiletries including shampoo and conditioner because what is offered is a multi-purpose liquid soap which isn't great for long hair and tangles.

Walk over to Yannick Martin, Happy Cafe on Rivoli or Pret a Mange for an inexpensive breakfast nearby (relatively speaking).

From this location we were able to walk to most of our tourist destinations. It was also easy to get an Uber.

There may not be an elevator so the trek up the stairs with your luggage may be challenging; however, this typically comes with the charm of Euro boutique accommodations.

Staff was courteous. We would definitely book
this again with our two kids.

I wanted to arrange something ahead of time online but I didn’t trust them so we flew into CDG and just went to the exit with the taxis. I had the hotel name and address typed out and gave it to the driver. It was Sunday morning and I believe it was 45 Euros and took about 40 minute ride. A couple of days before leaving we asked the concierge to order a taxi and that was about 70 Euros. I guess you can ask the driver from the airport about a return trip. Hope this helps. Enjoy Paris!! We certainly did.

You can, of course take a taxi from CDG for €50. Alternatively, you can take a bus/coach from CDG to the centre of Paris, very close to the Garnier Opera and walk from there. It will take you around 20 minutes. We found the easiest and fastest way was to take the RER train from CDG to either the Tuilleries or Pyramides metro stations (you need to change at Chatelet/Halles) If you get a direct train, so much the better. The changeover at Chatelet/Halles is a bit confusing but it is well signposted. Please remember to keep your ticket for the Metro journey. The walk from the Tulleries metro station to the Hotel is definitely more direct than Pyramides but the latter will give a better sense of the area. It is longer but again it does not have an elevator so you will have to haul the luggage up the stairs. The cost of the RER+Metro for two is around €22. The other advantage of the RER is that you get to see parts of Paris that most tourists do not usually see.
