there are quite a few things that stand out for B Montmartre: - location: on a quiet street but literally seconds away from the busy and happening Place du Clichy area with nearly hundreds of restaurants.. and proximity to bus stations and Metro station - amazing staff --

Excellent location, small scale, excellent service. Breakfast was extremely rich and great start of each day. Nice rooms, not large but enough for citytrips. Minor comment - for this price level you would expect a separate shower, not inside bath...

Hello. Would you be able to collect us from the airport?
Yes the front desk can make arrangements for you. But be careful and ask price of fair. We were scammed by a taxi arranged by the hotel going from the hotel to a nearby restaurant.

What is easiest way to get to your hotel from Paris Nord train station?
If you have a lot of bags.. Uber / Taxi. It's about 30/40 mins on the underground with a couple of changes. Take care around Gare Du Nord.

B Montmartre is less than a block (2 min?) from the Place de Clichy Metro stop. The side street is very quiet, but the Place is a commercial hub and there are literally dozens of walkable places for food and drink. There was nothing I would recommend avoiding - just depends on your taste and price range. Brasserie Le Moncey and Au Petit Poucet are literally around the corner from the hotel on the way to/from the Metro, and very different, but we loved both. I went two blocks up Rue de Batignolles to the boulangerie on the corner for croissants each morning for breakfast, to go with the in-room espresso. And there is a grocery store across the Place for any picnic provisions you may need. Montmartre is walkable from the hotel, go north through the cemetery then turn right and there are lovely cafes along Rue des Abbesses (La Villa was a favorite). But you can easily get anywhere in the city, the two Metro lines are ideal - one will take you directly to the Arc de Triomph, the other to the Grand Palais and Les Invalides. I could go on - I hope that helps!

I too took the RER B which only made 2-3 stops on the way into town thereafter getting off at Gare du Nord. From there I took the Metro to Place de Clichy. All in all about 60-75 minutes. A third the cost compared to a taxi? So it depends on how much time you have and required convenience. Personally I thought that the RER and Metro was very easy despite a large suitcase to tote around. You will love the hotel....make sure that breakfast is included, one of the best in Paris. The café on the corner (Au Petit Poucet?) is a nice people watching spot to enjoy a beer or glass of wine. Also ask reception for a few restaurant tips. We were given two and both were excellent choices. The friendly receptionist (forgot now name) seems to know a few proprietors in the area and we did not feel that he made his recommendations based on anything but to ensure that we had a pleasant meal and evening. He succeeded and we are grateful.

I did not see any playgrounds and I didn't look for any laundromats. The art in some of the hotel rooms could be considered a little suggestive or mature for a seven year old. Go to their website and click on the tab "our artwork" and make up your own mind.
