We have stayed at Hotel du College de France 3 times in the last six years, and it has become our hotel of choice if we visit Paris. The location is excellent for access to Metro and the center of Paris. Service and attentiveness of the staff is first rate. The rooms are small (expected for Paris) but are clean... More

Fantastic location, quiet and central. Friendly atmosphere, very good service, good breakfast. A starting point for everything: transportation, many restaurants and cafes, libraries and bookshops, cultural attractions. Just excellent. Looking forward to go back.

We had an excellent 4 night stay here. The room had plenty of charm and the big windows opened onto the street. The location was amazing in the heart of the Latin Quarter just off Blvd. St-Germain with all its cafes and restaurants. Notre Dame is less than a 10 minute walk. The staff were always cheerful and the price... More

Small, intimate, clean and quiet, this is the perfect hotel for the solo traveler. As a single woman I felt completely safe. Perfect location and a friendly staff who speak English. I felt like I was staying at a friend's house! I definitely will stay again!

Stayed five nights at this hotel and really enjoyed my stay. The room was clean and had a little balcony with a small table and chairs. If the weather had been better, I might have tried to sit out on it. Location was fantastic just one block to St Germain and two blocks from San Michel and the Seine. The... More

My husband and I spent three nights on our way back from Aix en Pce last week and loved the room, breakfast as well as very helpful front desk. The location is just perfect and we cannot imagine a better place to stay in Paris. We are already planning the next trip.

Walkable to restaurants, shopping, transit, and attractions of the area, and nonetheless very quiet. Staff is always accommodating and patient. Tiny elevator--but that's Paris, c'est la vie (and I've been in smaller)! Very clean and comfortable with an above-ground breakfast room. As a solo traveler the family feeling was reassuring. Our room (#55) was quite small but also quite functional. We had a lovely balcony, great for getting some fresh air. The room and hotel was very clean with very friendly and helpful service. You can't beat the location (St. Germain). A five minute walk to Notre Dame in one direction and to The Pantheon and Luxembourg gardens in another.... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
