I recently stay at the Hotel du College de France for a little over a week and can recommend it. The hotel seemed recently renovated and the staff were friendly and charming. Great central location in central Paris, easy walking and good metro connections. It is on a quiet street, which in any large city I find a real plus....

Spent 8 nights in room 52, twin with balcony. Loved it, spacious by Latin Quarter standards. Everyone on staff was cheerful and very helpful. Enjoyed the breakfast all 8 days, basic fare, always fresh. The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful with my many questions, very much appreciated. The lady on the night desk was so charming, always...

I have been going to Hotel du College de France for over 25 years. A gentleman who was in reception in the 70's is still there. The location is wonderful-in the middle of the Sorbonne area-10 minutes walk from the Notre Dame cathedral. You get the best prices on their website and the rooms with the best view over the...

This was our 4th visit to this hotel. We love it. It's so French with it's spiral staircase and traditional decor and lovely rooms. All of the rooms are fairly small but beautifully maintained and sparkly clean! 5 minutes walk from Notre Dame. What more could you want.

Just spent a few nights at this hotel, perfect location and lovely little hotel. Everything was spotless and the service was great, I felt really well looked after. Booked the double room with balcony and I was really pleased with the room. The owner Mr Marc is lovely and very helpful. Would definately stay here again.

We booked this hotel very late due to a last moment change in itinerary, thanks to flight disruptions. We had a day at Paris, and wanted to be near tourist attractions. The location was not bad, somewhat walkable from Notre Dame Cathedral. There are metro stations, about three of them, nearby; this makes any attraction in Paris easily accessible. We...

The location is fabulous, the employees all friendly, communication before our arrival was also very nice. What more could you possibly ask for?? We thought our 3 rooms were perfect and the breakfast was just right. In fact it was so perfect (and perfectly priced) that we're coming back in December and have already reserved our 3 rooms. We look...

This is a great boutique hotel located in the center of the Latin District in Paris. Just a few minutes walking distance away from many featured sites - Notre Dame, the Cluny Museum, the Louvre, St. Michel, and so much more. The hotel is quaint, very clean and the staff is most helpful and friendly. The price is right as...

What we loved: the charm of this old hotel, the cleanliness, the friendly staff, the location, the romantic tiny rooms with balcony. Breakfast is simple, but definitely enough! What we didnt like: the bed was not firm enough, after a long day of walking, my back did not agree with the too soft beds, I'm afraid. Did not get a...

Not right in the middle of the Paris hustle and bustle, but in the heart of the quartier Latin on a quiet side street. a short 5-7 mn walk to Notre Dame Room 62 gives you a fairly large balcony and a glimpse of the Eiffel tower and is very comfortable. I slept like a baby there. There are many...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
