My husband and I stayed at this hotel while I attended a conference at the Nouvelle Sorbonne. We were very happy with our stay! The hotel staff were kind and welcoming, the room small but immaculately clean, bright and breezy. Although the weather was very hot, our fourth-floor room stayed cool because of the big windows and the very efficient... More

We stayed here for a week with two teens and had a terrific stay. Rooms are clean and comfortable and a balcony makes the smaller-sized rooms feel bigger. The sixth floor has the largest (superior) rooms if that is important to you -but the double room with balcony on the fifth floor where we stayed was fine. The small elevator... More

Hotel du College de France an absolute gem. Located in the Latin Quarter and easy walking to many places of interest. We had a corner room on the first floor - room 23, with two windows and a little balcony with table and chairs. Unfortunately the rain didn't stop for the 3 days we were there so we couldn't embrace... More

Absolutely loved the location of this hotel! A short walk to restaurants, markets, bus, train & Notre Dame! We paid the little bit extra for a room with a balcony, which just made the stay that much more special. Room was small but comfortable, same with the bathroom. Everything was modern, Wi-Fi worked great, staff were friendly and helpful. We've... More

This hotel was great. All charm and very French. Great location in Latin Quarter--able to walk to many landmarks and close to some little shops for toiletries, fresh fruits, cheese, in addition to a lot of restaurants. Between Maubert and Cluny-Sorbonne metro stops and walking distance to Luxembourg or St. Michel RER stops. We got a cab but I believe... More

We have stayed at this hotel before, and chose to come back again. It is a great location, and the staff is fantastic. They are always willing to help and are so friendly. The rooms are small but standard for Paris. Try to get a room with a balcony; great place for a glass of wine.

I spent 3 nights here in June. As a solo woman traveller I felt perfectly safe at all times. The room was small, but charming with 2 french doors opening onto a tiny balcony with magnificent views over the latin quartier . Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was excellent. There was some street noise at night from the cafe... More

I have stayed in this hotel every year for the last 10 years when I visit Paris to watch the tennis. It is excellent value for money and is in a great location. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the rooms are spotless.

We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel, it should have been 3, but the french were on strike and our train was cancelled so we had to leave a day earlier than planned. The hotel is very central to all activities in and around the 5th and 6th arrondissements, but also close for the 2nd & 3rd. An easy... More

From the beginning of making the reservation, I knew I have made the right choice. Their reply to my emails are prompt and quick. And I love the location with easy access to metro and train from CDG airport. Restaurants and cafes are all nearby. Norte Dame is a few minutes walk and we even walked to Musee Lourve. Our... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
