This is a lovely hotel with very good location. Only a 2 minute bus ride from Saint-Michel and the Notre Dame. The receptionists are all very helpful and speak very good English. Breakfast was nice, croissants, bread rolls, yoghurt, orange juice and a choice of spreads. The rooms are quite small with the bathroom even smaller but if you aren't... More

I was surprised given the budget and location at how great the room was, and pleased with the level of help and advice provided by the owner who was very friendly and spoke good English. If you considering this place, don't hesitate it's a win!

If they tried to charge me 105€ per night for this hotel in almost any other city in the world (with the possible exception of London or New York), I would have laughed and stormed out; but this is Paris, and not onyl Paris but the Quartier Latin, five minutes away from Sorbonne and ten minutes away from Notre Dame.... Very good location close to the centrum, fast acces from CDG by RER, quiet and safe area, nice and helpful staff. Breakfast basic but enough, only the dinning room should be renovate with the same idea as a rooms are. Our room and bathroom was very small, but renovated with great idea, very clean. The only thing was bad -... More

The hotel is very well located, very close to train/metro station. Walking distance from/to Notre Dame. The room is very small, with no safe for documents/money...toilet ensuite is rather very small and it had the shower's door broken. Breakfast is ok, it is french breakfast, so croissant, roll, jam and butter, juice and coffee/tea/chocolate. I would stay here again, for... More

A nice little hotel on the quiet street in the historic center of Paris. 5 min to Luxembourg gardens, Pantheon, La Sorbonne, metro/RER, buses. A lot of restaurants, bars and cafes on your doorstep. Small but renovated rooms, helpful staff. Ideal for a short stay in the heart of Paris.

We had a room on the top floor and loved our view over the rooves of Paris. The bed was very comfortable and the shower lovely and hot. Room is well equipped with electrical sockets and wifi is reasonably good. The lift is very small 3 people or 1 with luggage, not suitable for those who have claustrophobia. The location... More

This small hotel is quite close to the Sorbonne, the Jardin de Luxembourg and the Pantheon and it has free and excellent wifi. Our room was very clean and bright with a new bathroom. But both are also rather tiny. The reception staff is very friendly and helpful. During our stay the temperature in Paris was well above 35 (!)... More

If you want a simple, inexpensive hotel in the Panthéon/Luxembourg quarter, you could do much worse than the Hotel du Brésil. It is perfectly situated in a quiet street near the Luxembourg RER station and the Luxembourg Gardens, the Sorbonne and the Panthéon. It is clean and well run. The rooms are smallish and can be hot in summer, but... More

Yes the rooms are tiny, but they are very clean. The service of the front desk staff is outstanding. I bumbled with my beginner French, they were so helpful. The location is very good, close to the beautiful gardens, a lot of gorgeous cafes. I'd stay again.

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
