Location is reasonably good. Metro near by, fairly close to all the main tourist attractions. Located down a side street that was pretty quiet and the rooms are sound-proofed. On arrival, reception staff were pleasant and polite and check-in was fairly straight forward. The lift is very small (the maximum it holds is 3 adults without luggage or 2 adults with a case). Breakfast was satisfactory but no clearly labelled milk alternatives, for example soya milk. I requested soya milk in a coffee on the first morning and it was provided without issue, however the second morning I again requested soya milk for cereal and was given cows milk. So if a client has allergies, it would be advisable to inform the hotel in advance so they can prepare to have items available and labelled. The room was ample in size but very warm and the heating / air conditioning was not working. The room was cleaned daily to a good standard and towels were replaced. No hooks for towels or robes in the shower room. The shower room with wash basin was separate to the toilet which also meant no wash basin in the toilet cubicle. Washing hands after using the toilet meant walking out of the toilet cubicle and through the room to the shower room which was next to the main door to the room. Seemed fairly trivial to start with but then became a pain and wasn’t very hygenic. An electronic tablet with pre-installed internet was provided in the room but the free Wi-Fi was intermittent. The tablet was temperamental and would screech at first so had to reboot it a few times. Took it down to reception but the receptionist couldn’t find a fault with it. No bar on site but quite a few cafes near by. The evening before check out I requested two croissants for an early check out (7am, breakfast on a weekend starts at 7:30am) and I was told if the croissants were ready that would be fine. Breakfast was not available the following morning despite paying for it as part of the room rate. Some hotels will honour this even if it’s a simple takeaway breakfast in a paper bag. On check out I attempted to use the computer in the lobby to print off two boarding passes but struggled to access my email (Hotmail) account despite being familiar with the log-in page and some basic French, so I asked Sebastian who was working at reception, for assistance in turning the email into English/American and he arrogantly looked me up and down, shrugged his shoulders and insisted it was French. I replied that Hotmail was American and not French. He then said he hadn’t understood. Despite me asking for help I wasn’t able to access my email account and he wasn’t able to change the settings to English (American). His initial response to my request for assistance appeared to inconvenience him sat at reception and that clearly affected his ability to understand what I was asking; instead of attempting to get clarity like most of those who work in hotels and the hospitality trade would do, instead he chose to be extremely rude and dismissive. This arrogance suggested he may have an issue with either English or foreign clients. Majority of staff were pleasant and professional, just a shame not all staff were. Would I stay again, probably not for the cost based on a few issues that could have been easily avoided. I have stayed in numerous hotels all over Europe and around the world and I have experienced better all-round service and treatment as standard. There are plenty of alternatives in Paris.

I have just returned from a lovely stay at Hotel Taylor in Paris. After doing a great deal of research of the best areas to stay in the city, I settled on this hotel as it seemed to be only a short journey from all of the major Parisian landmarks. Thankfully, I was not mistaken by choosing Hotel Taylor. Unfortunately, due to the transport strikes we were unable to use the metro, however the hotel is situated a very short walk from Jacques Bonsergent station. During our stay, we decided to walk to Notre Dame which only took around 40 minutes, and there are numerous bars, restaurants and cafes around the hotel. Although it is located in a bustling and vibrant area of Paris, Hotel Taylor sits on a quiet street with little outside noise, which makes for a relaxing stay. Check-in was very quick and easy, and we were even able to enter our room although we were early. The lady that checked us in was very nice, and was keen to speak French with me even though I was nervous. The reception area was bright and welcoming, and upon arrival in our room we were surprised at how spacious it was. The room was absolutely spotless and had a lot of amenities such as: a television, a safe, a kettle, a coffee maker, a hairdryer, dressing gowns, slippers and a strong internet connection. However, the tablet that was provided in the room was completely useless and did not connect to the internet or television. We really appreciated the free mini-bar, which offered apple juice, cola, water, crisps and biscuits. The bed was more than spacious enough for two people and the curtains did not let any light in, which meant that we slept soundly. The only thing I would say about the room is that it may not be suitable for non-couples. The bathroom area was integrated with the bedroom, with the only private area being a small room which contained only a toilet, which did not have a lock. The sink area was visible to the rest of the room and the shower was surrounded by walls of frosted glass, meaning that when you finished showering you had to walk straight into the bedroom area. This meant that there was minimal privacy in the bathroom area, which was slightly strange and tight for space. The hotel was silent both during the day and at night, and we were not disturbed once during our stay. All members of staff that we came into contact with were very polite and willing to help with any questions that we had. It should be noted that the lift in the hotel is extremely small and can only just hold two people. This means that if you have luggage, you will need to carry this up the steep staircase which isn't ideal but is useful to know prior to arrival. Sadly, we were unimpressed with the breakfast and did not feel that it was value for money. The choice of food and drinks was limited considering the 12€ charge, which was disappointing. Due to the transport disruption in the city, we chose to take the shuttle bus to Charles de Gaulle airport when we left. This was extremely useful and, at 18€ euros per person, it was cheaper than a taxi. We did not know that this was available or we would have enquired about using this on our arrival in Paris. The shuttle bus arrived on time and made our commute to the airport extremely easy. Paris is a fantastic city, and Hotel Taylor is an ideal choice for anyone who wishes to explore this city.

Hotel Taylor was the perfect place to begin our visit to Paris. The rooms were well decorated and clean. The staff was incredibly helpful, giving restaurant recommendations as well with helping with travel around the city during the transportation strike. The complimentary breakfast was incredible and included specialty coffees which made for a great start to each day. Would highly recommend!
