The staff working at the hostel were super nice and friendly and the building is perfectly located in a very touristic and bohemian area of Paris. The metro station is close and there are bakeries, restaurants supermarkets, laudryshops close, etc. The relationship between price and quality is unbeatable. There's wifi in the room, but there are some of them were... More

My partner and I stayed here in May and had a great time. The location was great with a few good restaurants around so you will never go hungry. I found the staff very helpful and the breakfast was very fresh. When we go back to Paris we will stay here again as I found it great value for money.

Brilliant location - was lovely waking up one morning with the windows open and someone from an across apartment playing the blues music on the saxophone. Lovely staff, very helpful with anything you need

We booked Caulaincourt because of the price vs location and knew it would be a shared bathroom situation. We were pleasantly surprised by the staff, cleanlyness and that there is a shower and washbasin in the small room for two. Yes, the twin room was very small and had a bunk-bed, but it was well decorated and very nice for... More

PLEASE AVOID THIS HOSTEL! My experience was terrible. The two man at the reception barely speak English and are unpleasantly rude and unhelpful. One night, they kicked us out the common area (which is a very small place next to the reception) and told us to go to bars or somewhere else. When we came back at 1.30, we stayed... More

Really enjoyed our stay at the Caulaincourt, we stayed in a 5 bedroom room and it was a little crowded with 2 sets of bunkbeds and one single bed but really liked that there was a bathroom in the room as well. It isn't the closest to everything but it's not so far that you cannot walk. We were able... More

We had no trouble finding this place after we got off the metro, and what a place it was! If you think that hostels are scary or suck, think again! The front desk was warm and welcoming, emailing me back and forth multiple times before I had even arrived. I had booked one of the single private rooms, with one... More

we booked a room with 4 beds, room size was very small for 4 persons and it was congested. Our room was on ground floor, so wifi signal was poor, you will get good wifi signal only in reception and breakfast area. Breakfast was very good. Location is good, around 800 meters from metro station. sacre coeur and Moulin Rouge... More

I spent 2 nights in a 6-bed female dorm. The ho(s)tel is tucked away near Sacre Coeur and has a great ambience and a decent breakfast of croissants and coffee or tea. It has hostel amenities like a kitchen and dining and lounging areas, as well as free computers, while also having hotel style rooms. The dorm was small and... More

As a group of students, we were looking for something not too fancy, cheap and friendly. This was better than we hoped and at such a great price. The breakfast wasn't anything to brag about, but hey you're in Paris, there's plenty of other food outlets in the area, including a patisserie next door to the hostel. Central Paris is... More

Staying in Montmartre

Neighborhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colors, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
