The Hôtel Marais Grands Boulevards garners praise for its attentive staff and the pleasant, modern atmosphere of its well-appointed rooms, complete with amenities like Nespresso machines. While some guests have called out the small room size and occasional cleanliness issues, the overall tidiness and updated bathrooms are widely commended. Its central location is a highlight, although the vibrant city life contributes to a higher noise level at night. While the hotel's value is recognized, with a satisfactory breakfast, some travelers find the cost of morning meals a bit steep.

This is a lovely boutique hotel in the heart of the city, ideal location, very friendly staff and candy treats at the front door every night. The rooms were typical European size but well appointed and bathrooms were remodeled with very nice showers. It was perfect for us with 2 families traveling together.

From the moment I booked I realized that it was a professionally managed hotel.
The kindness and resolution of the reception staff, always smiling and eager to help you, I made a request and they obliged. It is very well located, walking you can visit the most tourist places. The metro next door if you don't want to walk.
I love the area since in the little streets on both sides less than 15 minutes away you have a wide range of places to eat.
The hotel is comfortable, the rooms are perfect for use, with a coffee maker, a good hair dryer, a pleasant atmosphere and temperature, and everything is new and beautiful. Good rest.
Breakfast is in a small and very charming dining room, quality products and what is worth gold is the kindness and disposition of the lady who serves, all service.
The reception area is also very good, they offer you some drinks and snacks with charge to the room, there is free water and sweets that you really want when you come from walking.
I am very happy to have chosen this hotel and I will recommend it.

Thank you all and see you soon!

Ana

We booked for ease of checking out to catch early flight home and storage of luggage before check in

The room and bathroom were spotless and nicely decorated. The bathroom was one of the nicest we have had. The room had AC and a fridge (rarely seen across our stays in France and Italy).

The lady on reception was extremely helpful from storage of our luggage to organizing a taxi. Nice little touches of lollies, coffee and tea on offer in the reception area.

Location was convenient as was still in safe area and short walking distance for our previous accommodation. It was located a short walk to restaurants. We had one of the best Vietnamese meal we have ever had at Au Bon Pho within 800 metres from the hotel.

Basement gym was an added benefit.

Rooms were very small and I feel a longer stay would have been difficult in such a limited space.

When we arrived, we learned that we had been upgraded. The new room was spacious, the bathroom rather pleasant, the bedding incredibly comfortable, the towels rather thick and soft, the toiletries up to the type of services of a four-star hotel. On the other hand, when we entered the room, the window had been left open all day, probably in the morning to ventilate, but having checked in at 9 p.m. it was freezing cold in it and we did not find the way by ourselves to turn on the heating. A member of staff therefore had to come up during our absence to turn on the heating. On the staff side it was quite distant, not cold but even though we had never been to this hotel, the staff behaved as if we were perfectly familiar with their methods of booking and retrieving rooms. We were unlucky during our stay, the fire alarm went off waking us up at 8:40 a.m. on our first morning of vacation! From the 6th floor, we had to go down in a hurry, even in the middle of a lie-in, only to learn once downstairs, after 4 long minutes of waiting outside in the cold, in our pajamas, that it was simply a matter of a technical failure. None of the staff told us clearly, we only guessed because they were rummaging around inside the electrical cabinet looking for a way to turn off the alarm... Tired and my eyes still misty, I went back to the room, without even being sure that there was no problem in the basement, where the breakfast is.

I chose Hotel Marais Grands Boulevards because it was in the middle of all of the restaurants and experiences that I wanted to try; and most of all, it was in the Persian community -- and not in the "tour-esty" blocks with large chain hotels.

I booked two rooms: (1) executive suite on the ground floor and (2) a room at the top floor with balcony access to accommodate the family members that I had with me . . . and they were absolutely beautiful as they were functional.

I understood that hotels sometimes try to mimic room expectations of the country people visit; and as an American, I knew to curb my expectations for room size, as most EU spaces are much smaller than American spaces. Even with a smaller footprint, the rooms were functional for working, dressing, showering, or just being. Air conditioning helped cool the stifling heat of Paris and the modern decor mixed with the industrial and historic facade complimented each other well.

The food of restaurants in Paris was amazing; and provided you stayed at this hotel for breakfast, you would be just as pleased. Breakfast was cooked and not heated up or microwaved. The flavors of the vegetables and the freshness of the fruit complimented the meal. The music selection made it feel like I was allowed to take my time to enjoy my breakfast -- a pace that is usually unfamiliar in my American experiences.

When I do return to Paris, Hotel Marais Grands Boulevards will be my home away from home.

This is a charming hotel in a buzzing, central location in Paris. While it has the feel of many of Paris' smaller hotels, the owners have taken trouble to try and renovate/enhance the place with a good degree of success. We went on a half-term break for the family and had two of the higher quality rooms, which, while small, were charming. The overhead shower in our bathroom was slightly challenging (no way to turn it on without immediately getting drenched in cold water!), but overall the feel was very delightful. Breakfast is reasonably priced, albeit served with a slightly grumpy - and perhaps typically Parisian - feel! Despite the name, it is not that close to the Marais, but it is an easy walk to Les Halles and the Pompidou Centre.

Room was so small but able to still be comfortable and the location is great for public transportation and seeing the important tourist places. The hotel is very clean, and the staff are eager to help and accommodate. It would benefit to have your information that a concierge would usually provide because they were not helpful in that respect.

The hotel location is convenient both metro or bus. The first-two night i got upgrade to the bigger room on lobby level. The room itself was spacious, well-equipped for me. However, it was too dangerous to leave the window open as it was by the street where you can hear people walk and talk closely or they may even see you in the room if they were tall enough and come close to the window I have to close the window and ask the staff to bring the fan to the room for the air ventilation which was fine. Then I checked out to Strasbourg, left the luggage at the hotel and came back to the second stay for another 2 nights. There was a hiccup during my check out in early morning of 18 Dec where the staff said he can't charge me the city tac to the same credit card the the hotel block for the deposit. The hotel also didn't tell me before that 2 nights city tax from the first stay had been charged. Theni told the staff that total stay was 4 nights so he charged me 4 nights city tax. Then when I left Paris to another country and I checked my credit card found out that the hotel did charge total city tax for 6 nights. I have sent email to hotel 3-4 times already till now but no one contact me back at all. It was a little amount but I expect at least someone to acknowledge my email and get back to me so I am very disappointed in this case. Otherwise, all good

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Marais Grands Boulevards Hotel. The staff were very friendly and professional, the room was always perfectly cleaned, and the quality of furniture, décor and ambience were very pleasing. The only negative was a repetitive ‘quiet thud’ noise coming from the air conditioning system (in the loft above our room?) that unfortunately could not be stopped.

We have stayed here before, but this time it is as though the entire ethos has changed, mainly the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. In particular Aude and Alison on reception were really very kind, and arranged that we could move to a room with a balcony when it unexpectedly became available.

It is not far to walk to the Beaubourg and Les Halles, and there is a choice of restaurants very close by.

Hi there I would like to say that your staff don’t know what they’re doing at the front desk because I had a problem when I take the tickets for the big red bus hop on and off which never stop for us at the bus stop I did not get my eight euros back for something I never did the breakfast was supposed to be hot breakfast I did not get because no one in the breakfast section downstairs asked for your room number and has any idea who is entitled to hot breakfast or continental breakfast no one ask any questions whatsoever so is this little bit suspect and I’m fair when you pay for breakfast and anybody can come down nobody gets questioned something that was very concerning to us which we have never seen never been in that situation was the road that the Othelle was on the main road was full of black people no disrespect to them but it was quite intimidating and scary even though there was no danger but it’s very difficult when you come from a country that you don’t see that and it’s quite intimidating if you see my point it’s not the sort of thing you see when you come from a country like London where it’s mostly multicultural and you just don’t get people the same nationality the same colour sticking in one place. And not no one thinks like us. Plus I like to say the toilet roll the bath well with both coming off the wall just to let you know plus on top of that when we checked out the young lady on the desk charges €20 for nothing because she doesn’t know what it was for an order we know what it was for but we could not leave until we paid it because no one no what it was So I would like that money back please because I don’t own a hotel no money whatsoever

Is there public transport from CDG to this hotel? Thanks in advance, Peter J Connecticut
Answer from LorraineJay
Vancouver, Canada3 contributions8 helpful votes
Yes, you can catch public transit to get to the hotel. I used App Moovit to help us get around. The Strasbourg-Saint-Denis Subway Station has 3 lines, 4,8 and 9 which is a 2 minute walk to the Hotel. You can catch the train(RER B) then the Subway but there are lots of stairs unless you find the elevator. Their transit system is huge!

Is this hotel in a safe neighbourhood ? Is there a lot of traffic?
Answer from yannis319
athens33 contributions12 helpful votes
This neighborhood is very safe. We felt uneasy sometimes, but this has been only an unjustifiable feeling rather a reality. Me and my wife were walking downtown Paris, and only on few occasions we took the bus. Of course : One needs to be always cautious when you visit a foreign capital, especially the diverse Paris, where everything is possible (the day after our departure there was the incident with the terrorist van). So my answer is: There is nothing to be worried about, but always be relatively cautious.
