Travelled on business and stayed there for 2 nights. Negatives: Unfortunately pictures show much better quality then the reality. I'm a positive person and rarely get disappointing experience. Unfortunately on this occasion that wasn't the case. Location far less than attractive, smelly and dingy streets around, nearest parking location was absolutely stink. Hotel itself tiny, 1 lift barely copes with... More

This hotel is mere blocks away from an area that is set up as a homeless camp (tents and all) every night. We stayed here 4 nights, walking by the homeless area has a certain "stench" you would like to avoid. The hotel is ok, rooms are small and dimly lit. I had 2 get 2 hotel rooms since there... More

The location is absolutely great, right next to Pompidou, and the rooms are very charming, more classic than modern, but very clean and nice. The staff was so friendly and helpful! We had a great stay.

This boutique hotel has it all: a wonderful location, fantastic staff and comfortable rooms. With the just-across-the-street George Pompidou Center, we always had an easy landmark with which to find our way. Plus, it was an easy walk to the Seine and Latin Quarter. The front desk folks were incredibly helpful including giving us maps and detailed directions to find... More

Our family had a wonderful stay at here during our visit to Paris. It's a charming hotel in the shadow of the George Pompidou Center --- Only about four blocks to Notre Dame and a few more to the Musée du Louvre. Each room has it's own unique decor. Our room windows opened to the courtyard, which was very quiet.... More

Have stayed here many times, but our room was better than ever this time. We booked their best room. It's #4. Very roomy with a terrace on a courtyard. No street noise. Good a/c. 2 blocks from Rue Rambuteau where there are 2 superb patisseries. Awesome location across the street from the Pompidou Centre. Highly recommended.

Friends recommended this hotel and we are glad they did. We had no idea what part of the city to stay in before the recommendation. The Marais turned out to be a perfect location if you want to get away from tourists, have a lot of restaurants to choose from, and be close to public transportation. Honestly, there were so... This hotel is located in an interesting area of the city, Les Marais, and across from the Centre Pompidou. We walked so many places from here, rather than taking the Metro, to get a better feeling of the streets. Les Marais has lots of cafes and activity, with people out and about every evening. Our hotel room, on the fourth... More

We had appropriate expectations as I did extensive research with a Rick Steves guidebook. We wanted a location convenient to the metro/bus stops, close to the city, and in an interesting neighborhood. Five stars on those points. It is small and not fancy, but clean and homey with friendly and helpful staff. They do have an elevator for those who... More

We stayed in Paris at the Hotel Beaubourg for a week. The location of the hotel was perfect for us as we were able to travel to all of the sights and locations we wanted with ease either by walking or by Metro/Train/Bus. The woman at Reception was extremely helpful with restaurant suggestions and directions everywhere and told us what... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
