This small 10-room hotel was perfect for seeing the sights and walking the Latin Quarter and St Germain de Pres. Very convenient (3 blocks) to Ille St. Louis, with it's unique shops, bakeries, restaurants, and fabulous ice cream parlors. Use the Bateaubus (boat bus) to see the sights along the Seine (on and off all day for 11Euros. Nicole, the...

My husband and I plus our 20 year old stayed in the apartment across the road from the hotel (Room 5) for 6 nights, and it was perfect. We did not feel cramped even with 3 big suitcases in the room. You enter into an apartment building and go down a hallway, through a small courtyard (which was under construction...

Tucked nicely away on the eastern edge of the Latin Quarter in Paris' 6th Arrondisement this small, efficiently run 10 roomed hotel proved an ideal base from which to explore the left bank and beyond. A safe distance from the throbbing mass of dreadul eateries and nightspots that prosititue themselves round the back of the Cluny Museum and the side...

My wife and I went to Paris for the first time together in July and stayed at this hotel. We could not have been happier, but while the hotel was perfect for us, we are admittedly a bit eccentric. Here's what we liked. First, our room, number 48, was on what Americans would call the fifth floor, and there were...

We spent four nights at this hotel and found it to be a reasonable place to stay. Pros: clean, good breakfast, nice location. Cons: some people might be put off by the small spiral staircase that goes up to the rooms, the Latin Quarter isn't what it used to be in terms of atmosphere and restaurant selection (but there remain...

Since I love Paris so much, I feel like I could stay in the sewers and still enjoy the city. But luckily, we had reservations at Les Degres and could not have been more satisfied. It was not the nicest hotel we've stayed at in Europe, but it had several things going for it: Location, Location, Location. Right across the...

My boyfriend and I stayed at Les Degres during the first week of May and had a very lovely experience. I booked it after reading all of the more recent reviews (I booked in January or February of this year) and felt there were most positive than negative ones. What I wanted was a small hotel in a typical Parisien...

I went to Paris for the first time with a friend this week and had an absolutely incredible time. Since this site was such a huge help to me, i wanted to give back with a 100% honest review of Les Degres Hotel. PROS: -LOCATION:)--After walking what seemed like every square inch of Paris, you simply can not beat this...

Whether you like Les Degres will probably depend on what frame of mind you are in-completely uncritical or otherwise. We had just spent happy times in several good European hotels and were quite prepared to make some allowances, seeing that so many Parisian hotels seem to have a reputation for being (ahem)"different." However we were quickly dismayed by this amatuerishly...

While we did have a little trouble communicating via the internet with the hotel it was well worth the effort! We had seen several reviews in the paper, read the ones posted here and we anxiously awaited our visit. We booked the "suite" on the top floor, a little more expensive but not overly, well worth the price! The stairs...

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighborhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighborhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
