I loved loved loved this hotel. We were a family of four including two teens and we stayed in a room on the top floor. It had plenty of room for all of us to sleep and move around. The beds were comfy and the air conditioning worked. Exposed beams gave the room a non-hotel feel. In the bathroom, the... More

The hotel is well situated within walking distance to many attractions (Notre Dame, Bastille, Pompidou Centre) and Metro stations for the further out tourist locations. It is I the 'Marais' area of Paris known for its nightlife and gay community and so within close to a vast choice of resturants, shops and bars. The Hotel is in an old building... More

First time in Paris, so not sure what to expect but it seemed like a good deal for Paris. Plus it comes recommended by Rick Steves...so it must be a good deal. The staff are VERY friendly and helpful. You are on a quiet little street that is a block from a big main street in Le Marais district. Perfect... More

It is very well located. First time in Paris so not sure if this is what you get for the $$ spent. Quaint and quirky hotel. We had a room with triple bed - was pretty small. Hotel staff were ok and not very helpful with information (perhaps because of English). Also it is the first hotel in 2.5 years... More

This Hotel's biggest asset are the staff. We were greeted on arrival by a super happy and friendly gentleman, who even helped to carry our bags to our room. He provided us with helpful maps and information. The hotel itself is okay. My biggest requirement is cleanliness, and I found the room to be clean, however outdated. Breakfast is as... More

I am from Las Vegas where I have been in the Hotel/Casino business for many, many years. I was at the Sands all during the Rat Pack years, Sinatra and the guys. I am now at this hotel and like lthe way things are done here. I have stayed here before and I will again. Three main reasons I like... More

This quirky hotel is in the vibrant St Paul/Marais area where there is a lively and inclusive village atmosphere, good transport links, wide choice of restaurants, museums, antique shops and interesting clothing boutiques - all within walking distance. Hôtel staff are very friendly and helpful, and rooms are clean and comfortable, if a bit basic and outdated in style (... More

The Hotel du 7e Art is a pleasant place to stay. Very close to St Paul Metro, easy walking distance to central Paris. Room was clean and comfortable , bathroom was small with a good shower. Breakfast is extra, juice, croissant, bread and coffee, quite adequate. Area was quiet and felt safe.

Hotel du 7e Art is a small, informal hotel in the very heart of Paris. The atmosphere and staff is nice and cool indeed. But at all not so that you "feel ancient at 40". There is no classic luxury at this hotel, but for someone (like us) who find perfect location, "the feel of a place" and wonderful prices... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
