Our little room was beautiful and very clean. We were perfectly positioned for little daytrips around different parts of the city, particularly the Marais. What really stood out was the kindness and attentiveness of the staff, who could not have been more helpful. We look forward to staying again.

Castex is a nice hotel for a quick stay. We were there for 3 nights - the room was very tight, but clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was quite nice. A complimentary bottle of wine in the room, helpful staff, and well located in the Marais. Walking distance to Bastille, the Seine, and lots of attractions. Many cafés and...

The Hotel is vieux, but nice, its very good located, walking distance between la bastille and St. Paul metro. The rooms are not huge, but big enough for a shorter stay. The hotel reception is always there and very friendly, same in the breakfast room.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Very pleasant and helpful staff (English speaking) who were happy to help with things like luggage storage. Room was on the small side but it was clean and everything worked, including the free wi-fi. There is a breakfast room or, this being Paris, there are umpteen cafes within 5 minutes walk. The hotel is on...

Had a fine stay for two nights in the triple room with loft bedroom. The room was clean but very tight on space to what I was expecting from photos. Shower could have had much more water pressure. The big plus was the warm, friendly front staff. Fairly decent location to places to see. Fair value for what you pay....

A perfect place for a weekend away, a short walk from Bastille metro which in turn was a short metro ride from garde du Nord station. Free wi-fi and lovely and welcoming staff partnered with a quaint and comfy room were all we needed to compliment our short trip. Would highly recommend :)

We stayed at the Hotel Castex for three nights in November. It is located near the Place de Bastille in the Marais. Lots of places to eat, sightsee and shop nearby. Small but comfortable room, bottle of wine in the room upon arrival. Very helpful concierge and an adequate breakfast in the basement dining room. Very nice stay.

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
