Someone has written of this hotel, "I would never, never, never recommend it, not even to my enemies." I couldn't agree more. I say this, although I must admit I never stayed there. I booked 3 nights, but when I arrived, I was told the toilets were blocked, and I was going to be put in the other hotel. The...

Standard is weak but for teenagers on a school trip it was ok. The shower was loose and small, beds were ok. breakfast was poor. service was friendly and ok location was very good. wouldnt reccomend for anything other than a school trip.

It was a great hotel. i would stay there every time I go to Paris. The room was perfect for me. If you go to Paris it's obvious you don't go there to stay in your room so all you need is a bed and a bathroom. It was perfect.

We arrived at about 9 p.m. on 27 August and we were given our keys quite quickly. Our room was big enough, but it was dirty and smelling. After a late romantic walk to Sacre Cuer Chirch, which was nearby, we went to bed. In the morning my friend and I both complaned to each other of having a biting...

The hotel is sutuated 5 minutes northern from the Montmartre Hill (Sacre Coeur Church). That means, the small restaurants in the artists" quarter are near by. But the only true direction from the hotel is south - upwards the hill. In the other directions there are strange people from african or arab origin walking or staying in the streets and...

After just returning from Paris with my boyfriend, i thought it would be good to check on the hotel reviews posted here, and to be fair the reviews are extremely harsh considering this is a 2* hotel at a fair, almost cheap price for Paris. Yes the rooms are small, but the bathroom has everything you need and above all...

I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend in Paris. Although the rooms are basic, there's everything you need. The breakfast was ok and the reception staff excellent. The hotel is in Montmartre and we could see the Sacre Coeur from our room. Excellent location for seeing the whole of Paris as it's close to 2 metro stations. Would definitely stay at the...

Booked a valentines break for my husband. On arrival at this hotel the staff didnt appear to be expecting us despite the fact that i had booked back last september. After some discussion between staff we were put into room 108 despite the fact that the hotel advertizes it has 95 rooms. The room was so small you hit the...

My family and I stayed at this hotel for three nights. The hotel was a nightmare to find. Not recommended for anyone with walking disabilities. You have to walk up some steep roads and then up along a cobbled hill. The hotel entrance is hidden in a corner with dog faeces around. We arrived at the hotel at about 12.00pm....

I have returned from a school history of art trip to Paris where we stayed at this hotel, and it was really bad! We arrived and had to drag suitcases through the street and up steep hills, and they were foul of dog dirt! When were arrived at the hotel we could only sit and wait around while they found...

Staying in Montmartre

Neighborhood Profile
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colors, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
