Small room, but typical in Paris, very clean. Newish ensuite sized bathroom. Tiny hanging space for clothes. Nice courtyard for breakfast. Welcoming staff. Right near the Luxembourg Gardens. Easy walk to the Metro (L'Odeon). All in all, a lovely stay (6 nights) . Lovely club lounge/bar in the entrance. Also visit the Aux 2 Oliviers restaurant nearby. Great food and not...

I would highly recommend Le Clos Medicis for a short stay in Paris. Located on one of my favorite streets in all of Paris, you really can't beat the location. I found the room to be immaculately clean and though the room was very small (but average for Paris) they made great use of the space. Minibar, nice linens, fair...

We booked a "Deluxe Double" after reading the reviews here and ignoring those who said the rooms are very small even for Paris. There is room for the bed and that's it! No closet space (a shallow 5 hanger closet that makes a broom closet seem spacious), no tables or drawers (the night stand is a tiny little shelf attached...

I have traveled to Paris several times over the last few years primarily on business. Normally I would stay in the Marriott or similar hotels and I have found these cater more to us the American traveler and can be quite costly and generally do not reflect the Paris experience so romantically portrayed historically. I located Le Clos based on...

This is hotel that we stayed in a few years ago and which we found lovely . We re-visited it again this month at the end of a rail trip around Europe and we found it as good as ever . A really good location , convenient for the Luxembourg Gardens and an easy walk down to the Seine. And......

A small hotel, cozy and elegant. My family and I occupied the hotel's only triple room for eight nights in April. At first I was concerned about the room's location on the ground floor and yet it turned out to be very private and comfortable. This room is pretty large for Paris standards and it has a large and modern...

We are currently staying in this hotel. Our room is absolutely sweltering, the heating is still on in May, and when we asked the management to do something about it, the response was a typical gaelic shrug. As a result it is impossible to sleep - either we swelter or open the windows onto the very noisy street. To be...

An excellent small hotel close to the Jardins de Luxembourg in the Latin quarter. The rooms were small but clean, quiet and comfortable. Modern bathroom with great shower and all the amenities. Close walk to Metro and RER so no need for taxi to Gare du Nord. Will stay here again.

Stayed for 5 nights in April 2012 whilst I attended a conference. Between St Germains des Pres and the Latin Quarter; not an area of Paris I have previously stayed in but will definitely do so again - very well positioned for RER and Metro stations (direct, fast RER line to Gare du Nord); a short walk to the Seine,...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
