This hotel is 100 times better than most of the previous reviews I have read. It has recently been refurbished and its looks great. The rooms have fast working wifi, fully working Air con which was a life saver last week when the temp was hitting the mid 30s! Spacious rooms with black out blinds and curtains. A small balcony... I am a "loved member" of SLH which would entitle me to free upgrades among other perks. Once again we visited a SLH hotel without getting an upgrade, no late checkout possible even though one of the offered perks. The hotel was quite beautifully decorated and so was our room that was comfortable and cosy. The bathroom was way too... More

We had a great weekend at this hotel. Rooms are light and modern - room tip order room with 2 single beds you get a bigger room than a normal double which is on the small side. Location is fantastic for a walk to Notre Dame and along the Seine, Musee d'Orsay, Luxembourg Gardens and the Sorbonne. There are a... More

All the reports about bad Wi-fi and unfriendly staff are not valid. The Wi-fi was excellent and the guy at the reception very helpful. In fact when I asked for late checkout he had no problem. The rooms seem completely new or renovated, very clean and modern. The rooms are a bit small like all hotels in Paris but for... More

The hotel was fine, simple but clean rooms which are not so small and a refurbished bathroom. Some small amenities give it a little extra touch, such as the coffee/tea in-room facilities, which I like, however once you use the tea it is not replenished anymore...strange. Breakfast is adequate but best to go outside to one of the little cafes... More

Paris is for me a global top 3 destination for many reasons. The city exudes everything that one would consider a vacation from normal life in America. Culturally, Artistically, Historically and gastronomically. The Hotel Vendome, next door to some of the finest hotels anywhere in the world and within the area called the Place de Vendome is walking distance to... More

The 2 best things about this hotel are the position and the modern good sized room. But, I'd ordered a quiet room but was kept awake by the noise from the street and the metro, which seemed to run right under my room. I can only conclude that the other rooms must be very noisy indeed. There is a poor... More

A locals hotel in the centre of Paris, a couple of minutes from Notre Dam and the main river. Plenty of local bars and restaurants to choose from whether you want a light snack of a large meal. Friendly staff but little English spoken so brush up on your french.

The hotel is in a very good location, with many restaurants around, a short walk to the river Seine and the attractions that surround it. The room we stayed in was basic, as was the bathroom, however it was always warm and was relatively comfortable. There was a television, a safe (which you could use for free) and a kettle... More

The hotel is excellently located, just a short walk to the Latin Quarter, Notre Dame, St Michel and in fact the majority of central Paris. When we went to Le Marais, Louvre, Champs-Élysées and the Eiffel Tower, we walked from the hotel. I admit that it was considerable walk to some of the further locations, but we enjoy walking to... Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
