Horrible experience. I got a rickety bunk that swayed whenever the person beneath me moved. I was supplied with two sheets with holes in, a blanket covered in somebody else's hairs and a stained pillow. I was worried the stains might indicate bedbugs, but perhaps they were just dirty, anyhow it made for an unpleasant night and I've been itching...

Very good location, near the world´s known place, Moulan Rouge. It´s near the Bus/Subway too. Lots of pubs around. Breakfast and the common place is good. There you can imagine how old hotels/family homes were, because itself was one, By the way, one may find the bathroom a little unconfortble, because has no windows or even a place to hang...

The hostel is placed in a wanderful location in the heart of Paris. Rooms are nice, clean and spacious. The staff is very kind and helpful. I have been there for 4 days and I have received a lot of support and information from the local staff Chaker Belhajali who guided me in several needs. I would highly recommend this...

stayed here earlier this year. we are 2 mums with 2 teenage daughters. Didn't notice the age restrictions when we booked so a little concerned when we realised as we mums are both over 35. However this was not a problem so I am not sure if this is normally the rule or not. The place was lovely, friendly, clean...

I wanted to visit Paris for a few days in the summer, I picked the BVJ Opera hostel for my stay. I was very satisfied. The rooms were very nice, clean, shared bathrooms also were ok. In my room there was als a sink, which was also helpful. Complimentary breakfast is an additional advantage of this hostel. The hostel is...

We were a party of four 60+ friends on a day outing to Paris caught out by a technical fault in the Tunnel and unable to get home. Zut alors! The BVJ Hostel came to our rescue and we were overjoyed by the warmth of the welcome, the opulence of the building & its history and - for three of...

Loved this hostel! The check-in staff was very helpful and accommodating, the lobby is beautiful, and rooms are clean, and the area (Montmartre) is a nice area away from the bustle of the center city but within easy walking distance of a metro station which takes you just about everywhere you need to go in the city. Oh and also...

The hostel is very close to the Louvre and metro station, very easy to walk to the Louvre and nearby attractions . Cozy public spaces. Breakfast is very rich. Good security. Cheap price. Minus point: There are no lockers and wifi in the room.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
