The Hotel Aiglon is idealy located in the heart of Montparnasse, the famous artist’s district of Paris. The picturesque neighbourhood with its art studios and cafes is a wonderful place to be on a Paris city break. This splendid hotel of 46 rooms has recently refurbished the building, the lobby, the library, the breakfast room and most of the rooms in the spririt of the twenties, with wonderfull mosaic (in the bathroom and at the entrance of the hotel), nice cutains and wallpaper for an intimate and warm atmosphere.

Great location in the Montparnasse neighborhood. Plenty of dining options nearby. We had a room for 3 people, which had plenty of space everywhere except in bedroom. It was tight when the single bed was opened up. There was no room to walk between the two beds. However, because of the space in the rest of the suite, I'm not going to ding them on it. The bed was comfortable. Our room had both a shower and a bathtub. Having the toilet separate from the shower/bath area is nice. There was a nice size closet to store your luggage. Plenty of outlets to plug in all the electronics for re-charging at night. Very unusual in a hotel. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast had good options.

Dear Madam or Sir, We would like to sincerely thank you for choosing to stay with us. We appreciate you taking the time to share your impressions. It has been a real pleasure to welcome you and we are delighted to read that you have thoroughly enjoyed your stay with us. Your accomodation was actually not a Suite but a Superior Family Room, which explains why you had all three beds in the same room. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again in Hôtel Aiglon ! See you very soon. Kind regards, Paul Front Desk Team

Stayed twice due to proximity to Montparnasse station. Nice location although a bit touristy yet as you move away you get closer to charming St Germain des Pres and the nicer areas of the Left Bank of Paris. It seems understaffed. First time around we were given a nice large corner room. Second time we got a small standard room which was a bit tight. They have a courtesy mini bar fridge which is a nice touch. No real luxury but convenient.

Stayed for one night mid December. Was perfect for our needs. Reception staff lovely-directed us to a delicious and really reasonably priced patisserie just across the road after we checked out as only wanted a snack for brunch. Room was great size with large bedroom and double sofa bed in lounge. Complimentary beer, coke, water and orange juice plus crisps in room. Robes and towels were super soft and fluffy. Bath very welcome too, everything great. Late check out at 12 though we didn’t need it. We didn’t realise until we were leaving how much choice this area had in terms of bars and restaurants and shops. Need to go back! We only used Ubers on our short visit which between 4 of us were the quickest, easiest and pretty cheap I thought. There were bikes to rent just across the street and I’d definitely have liked to have tried this way of getting around. Deet and Lime were two brands I noticed.

Definitely the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in when visiting Paris. I gladly give it 5/5 (even though things weren’t perfect—more on that shortly) for the amazing service of the front desk staff and for the incredible room I had (Room 55 definitely gets 5/5). Half way through my vacation, I had to adjust my plans and contacted the Hotel Aiglon to see if I could arrive two days early and add two extra days to the four day stay that I had booked weeks earlier. It was tricky because the hotel is so popular, but staffer Romain was able to work things out. A huge relief. I met Romain and his colleague, Paul, on check in and they were incredibly friendly and helpful. Probably the best hotel staff I’ve ever encountered in my travels. There was another staffer working the night of November 29-30. A younger guy (I didn’t get his name) who was there when I went up to bed and still there when I checked out the next morning. I joked with him that he might be a vampire. He was just as friendly and professional as his colleagues. The room was one of the absolute best I’ve ever stayed in. A hallway leads to a nice living room and then a large bedroom and bathroom. There’s also a second half bathroom which is always welcome. And three large windows wrapping around the curved building giving a different view out of each. My favourite was the view over Montparnasse cemetery. Lots of history and the neighbours are quiet. And what a great neighbourhood. Lots of shops and excellent restaurants (I’m talking to you, La Closerie des Lilas) and great spots to visit nearby. Best of all, this is a proper Parisian neighbourhood and not a tourist trap. Not a single Eiffel Tower keychain in sight. Unfortunately there were two slip ups. But the positives of the Hotel Aiglon so greatly outweighed the negatives that I’m sticking with my 5/5 rating. Maybe the Aiglon staff might benefit from my criticism. 1. I asked an older man at the front desk if he knew about acquiring tickets for the famous Paris catacombs (about a 15-20 minute walk away). He told me that all I had to do was show up at the catacombs and buy tickets whenever I wanted. When I arrived the next morning I found that the catacombs don’t have a ticket office and that the only way to get tickets is by ordering them online (a really painful process as it turns out—you have to create a new account just for a one-time ticket purchase). Anyone wanting to buy a ticket the old-fashioned way, from a ticket office with a credit card, was going to be disappointed. Later back at the hotel I mentioned this to the same front desk staff man. I told him that he was mistaken and that the catacombs have no ticket office. “Well, it depends,” he replied. “No, it doesn’t depend on anything—the only way to purchase tickets is online,” I replied. His attitude to my information was a kind of “maybe yes/maybe no” tone. A word of advice: if the Aiglon staff give a guest wrong and outdated information and the guest provides an update, then just go along with it. And feel free to look it all up yourself if you doubt the credibility of the guest’s information. 2. November 27 was a pretty miserable day in terms of weather. Cold and dark and at times with a driving rain. Still, we left the hotel just before 9 am. and had a long walk through the Luxembourg Gardens and then visited the Panthéon (fantastic). Even with an umbrella, the rain and wind were so severe that eventually I was soaked. I finally decided that I just wanted to go back to the hotel and get warm and dry and relax. I had left a “Please make up the room” sign on the door handle before leaving the hotel. I arrived back at the hotel five and a half hours later at 2:30 pm.. To my surprise, the room hadn’t been touched. I wasn’t happy and was told by the front desk that the cleaning staff doesn’t start work until the afternoon and that if I wanted the room made up early, then I’d have to make arrangements with the staff in the lobby. How was I supposed to know that? In any case, I had to sit in the lobby, in my cold and soaking clothes for a full hour until 3:30 pm. while the cleaning staff prepared my room. Not good. I’ve never once encountered a situation like this. Sitting in the lobby in cold, soaking clothing is enough to put anyone out. I told the front desk that I didn’t want my room cleaned for the remaining three days of my stay. I’d make the bed myself and use the same towels. I didn’t want a repeat of the hour-long wait in the lobby. So, many thanks and compliments to Romain, Paul and the fellow at the overnight desk. Your incredibly excellent service kept this review a solid 5/5. I would recommend the Hotel Aiglon to anyone in a heartbeat.

Dear Sir, We would like to sincerely thank you for choosing to stay with us. We appreciate you taking the time to share your impressions. It has been a real pleasure to welcome you and we are delighted to read that you have thoroughly enjoyed your stay with us. Apologies for the occasional problems you may have encountered during your stay. You were right about the Catacombs and we will update the information with our staff. Sincerely sorry you had to wait an hour on 27th November for the cleaning of your room. Regarding room cleaning, the housekeeping service actually starts at 08.30 am but priority is given to rooms checking out, because they need to be ready by 3 pm for customers checking in. Besides, those rooms have until noon to be vacated by customers checking out. This is why the other rooms still on stay are treated secondly. However, if your room is currently of the latter category and you know when you will be coming back to your room, you can inform this to members of staff and they will work to organise themselves so that your room can be ready on time, depending on availability. A room directory is available in each room via a QR code for this kind of information. Many thanks finally for your kind appreciation of Romain, Axel and myself, we were very pleased to meet and greet you as well ! We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again in Hôtel Aiglon. Kind regards, Paul Front Desk Team

Stayed here recently for a rugby World Cup game. Was originally booked into the L’esperence hotel which is a sister hotel. The hotel group contacted us the day before arrival to let us know there was an issue at the hotel and that they moved us (group of 3) to the Aiglon hotel which was not far from the original location. The hotel staff made it so easy us, contacted us to make sure we were happy and to ensure all of our needs were met prior to arrival. The staff were so accomodating and friendly. The location in fantastic, 60 second walk from Raspail metro station so really easy to get around. Lots of nice bars and restaurants in the area and of course lots of amazing boulongerie’s. The room was beyond expectations, more like a suite. 2 bathrooms, a living area with a pull out bed and a master bedroom. All very well decorated. Each room had a balcony with great views of the area. Can’t thank the staff enough for their hospitality. Excellent

We stayed here for a night last December with my partner. We stayed at Hotel B55 for a couple of nights before moving here as we wanted to extend our stay and visit the catacombs and unfortunately Hotel B55 didn't have availability anymore. That was not a problem as we discovered this nice boutique hotel. We made the reservation on their website which was user friendly and quite easy to use. We booked it for a very good price, less than 150€ for the night. For a 4 star hotel in Paris, this is a very reasonable price. The hotel was located in the 14th district of Paris, which is still a safe and nice arrondissement. It is a stone's throw away from the Catacombes, which is a plus because it was the main reason why we extended our stay. Montparnasse is not far away as well. I recommend visiting the Montparnasse tower if you want a panoramic view of the city. The hotel is on Boulevard Raspail, which is a large boulevard with a lot of restaurants and tree laden pedestrian refuges where you can have a nice stroll in the evening while enjoying the Art déco and haussmannien buildings that line up this long stretch of road. Anyway, we arrived before check-in time and our room wasn't ready yet. The lobby was quaint yet well decorated. The receptionist was nice and friendly. He told us that the mini bar in the room was free for the 1st night which is a good surprise. He also gave us some restaurant suggestions and chatted with us while doing the 'pre check-in'. The elevator was super small, but since it was December, the hotel was fortunately not very busy and there were not a lot of people using it. We booked a Classic room, which was quite spacious for Parisian standards of this room category. Our room was overlooking the raspail boulevard and was clean and cosy, although you can feel that it was quite dated you can see that it was well-maintained. I liked the art-déco design but was not a big fan of the carpeting which was a bit musty as well as the dated heavy curtains. As of writing, I have learned that they have recently renovated some rooms, so try to ask for one if you book this hotel. The bathroom was nice, although the bath tub had a weird shape and was quite narrow. Complete bath amenities were provided and there was plenty of free mini bar drinks and snacks choices, not just a bottle of water. The bed and the pillows were comfortable and I had a good night sleep amidst the street noise since we left the windows open to let some cool air in. We didn't try their breakfast as we needed to leave early for our visit to the catacombes. When we came back, the housekeeping staff were already cleaning on our floor and their trolleys cumbersomely made the hallways even smaller. Check-out was fast and hassle free, and the agent was nice and had a smile on his face. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. This hotel is definitely one of my preferred 4 star boutique hotels in Paris. I will definitely stay there again if y go to hotel is booked up. :)

We were looking for a hotel for one night close to Montparnasse railway station. Hotel Aiglon fit the bill perfectly. You can make the walk to the station in 10 minutes even with suitcases (try Bakery Odessa on the way if you need some food on the train). The hotel is also conveniently located on a Metro Station that brings you to the Eiffel Tower (should you want to go there). Within a ten minutes walk you are in the middle of the chic Saint Germain de Pres district with lots of choices for restaurants, bars, galleries and shops. The rooms are small but tastefully decorated (as was the rest of the hotel). Hot water comes with pressure, everything is clean. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. We did not have breakfast, so we cannot comment on this, but the breakfast salon on the first floor looked very nice. First filling of the minibar was free (which the kids enjoyed immensely). Traffic was noisy, but hey, it’s Paris. I am sure there are thousands of more impressive hotels in Paris, but if you look how insanely overpriced most of them are, well, Hotel Aiglon is not.

What a GEM of a hotel! My mother and I felt at home, immediately when we entered. The room was newly refurbished, with amenities as a 5* hotel. We had a bathroom with a view, and a balcony overlooking the charming streets of Paris. The staff is extremely welcoming, and will do anything in the power to help you. I normally stay in the St. Germain are, but from now on - I will stay here.

For exploring Paris I cant recommend highly enough Hotel Aiglon in Arr 14 near Montparnasse. The hotel is opposite the exit from Raspail Metro station on Line 4 or Line 6. It has a 24/7 reception who help tourists plan the best transport route. It was't far from Roland Garros - where we were watching tennis during our stay in the hotel. There is a nice patisserie opposite the hotel but the breakfast place downstairs do not have much option. However there are plenty of breakfast and dining options just a block further down. The locality (Arr 14) is nice and leafy with spacious streetscape and very chic. I would highly recommend staying in Hotel Aiglon.
