Nice room with a lovely balcony you can sit on. Easy walking distance to many key attractions but quieter street which is nice. Cute shops close by for wine, cheese etc to have on the balcony after a long day of touring. Charming room - small quiet feel.

I took my 16 year old son to Paris for a leisure trip and have to say that this hotel in the Latin Quarter was a delight. The staff were very helpful and pleasant throughout (my thanks to day staff Qaisar and Ismar and apologies if I'm spelling their names wrong), We arrived earlier than expected due to Delta problems... It had been 8 years since we stayed in this hotel, and it was perfect again. For our family of 5 we booked a suite and a double room, which were on the same floor (tiny hotel - only a suite and double room on most floors) and it was ideal for us. We had a generous fridge which we... More

Recently spent three nights at H(enri) IV and the experience was alltogether very positive. The location was great in an un--touristy residential neighbourhood, yet in close proximity of many of the major sights. The clientele at bistros and bars in the area seemed to be dominated by students from nearby Sorbonne. The staff were most service-minded and had helped us... More

Stayed here on the back of the other TA reviews and although I usually choose larger, busier hotels I found this place utterly perfect and charming and going back every day felt a bit like going home. Shared a room with my 19 yo daughter for a five day Paris trip and it was the perfect base. We left in... More

Nice hotel in a great location (5 min walk from Notre Dame)! Very nice and accommodating staff at the front desk. The inside of the hotel is very nice. The only complaint I have was that because of the small size of the hotel, anything that happens in the main stairwell can be heard in our room.

We're a retired couple, and experienced travelers who definitely made a good choice with the Residence Henri IV. It's just a few blocks from the Sorbonne, and a 10-minute walk from the Luxembourg Gardens. The room was clean, fresh, and very quiet. Hotel staff members were friendly and professional -- always smiling and courteous. We'd certainly stay at the Residence... More

We stayed here for 3 nights. Staff was excellent in helping with directions and anything you wanted to know. Breakfast was great, but not a hot breakfast with eggs and bacon. Still the pastries was excellent and fresh, so was the coffee. There is a reason this boutique hotel is high on the TripAdvisor list, and it is because of... More

I stayed here with my husband and college aged daughter and can't say enough good things about it. If and hopefully when I go to Paris again I will be staying here. The accommodations are so charming but with all the conveniences you could want. Breakfast was wonderful. It was quiet but not too out of the way. The metro... More

This hotel has a lot of things going for it: the location (both the riverbank and the Panthéon and the river are just a few streets away), the friendly and knowledgeable staff and the clean and beautifully decorated rooms. I found the room very spacious for one in Paris, and the kitchenette was a welcome addition even though we didn't... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
