I have never had to stay at such a dirty and shabby place as this hotel. It was terribly disgusting. The beds were smelly and did not seem to be clean, the windows seemed to be several hundred years old, the bathrooms were filthy and moldy, the curtain was grey with dirt (originally white) and even torn to shreds in...

When i booked the hotel i was really worried, because of reviews here, but when i arrived i calmed down. we arrived 30 early then it was said in check in time, but they let us in with no problem. room had nice furniture but bathroom was old one. location is perfect, next to metro Respublique and there are many...

I have been to Europe 7 times and stayed in 7 different countries. This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at in Europe. At nighttime, you literally step out of the elevator into a dark unlit hallway. The staff is completely indifferent. Don't be fooled. This isn't a place to stay and try and save money in the...

When I booked the hotel I was a little worried from the reviews. They were from a long time ago and the photos looked a little tired. I'd booked via a website and the price was amazingly cheap for a 3 star in central Paris, you will find cheaper in the outer districts (not always in the nicest of surroundings,...

I stayed for 1 night and it was good value for money. Recently refurbished and decent. The location is the thing that sold it to me, 1 mins from Republique Square and the tube station with easy access to Gare du Nord and Eurostar.

If you have an unlimited supply of money, stay here! I stayed here as a nanny and really enjoyed myself. If not, treat yourself to breakfast or tea time in the parlor/sitting room right by the entrance. The rooms have classic furniture but updated bathrooms. Very clean. The staff is very helpful and speak English easily. Truly a beautiful hotel...

it was only good in the context of location. Other then that I didn't have the best experience with the staff in general and the bed itself was okay. The view was good if you had a balcony. I am traveling on a budget in Paris so it was good for that. Also as a graduate student not having free...

It was the cheapest hotel (Hibiscus) in this area with great location. Republique metro connects with 5? metro lines, some buses. If in need, you can go and return by foot from the city centre. We had a first day trip by foot to Louvre and back. When we arrived we were allocated to nearby Bristol hotel, didn't have breakfast....

Location was excellent, somehow most things I wanted seemed to be within half an hour walk, and a major Metro hub just around the corner. The hotel itself and the rooms... rather small and gloomy. There's no wi-fi, no bar, the breakfast is only one croissant and one little bread with butter and jam, no other choices and no extras....

The bathroom was very dirty, room rating was 20 pointa from 100. Hotel byl spinavy a koupelna silene spinava. Pokoj byl zanedbany. Priste bych si vybral urcite jiny hotel. Jedina dobra vec byla lokalita.

Staying in Canal Saint-Martin

Neighborhood Profile
Canal Saint-Martin
The tree-lined Canal Saint-Martin is the focal point of one of the most romantic and hip areas of Paris. Watch boats travel along the canal while lovers and friends take in the atmosphere from the banks or the bridges. Evenings see hoards fill the embankments to drink wine and enjoy good company. The colder days lead people to hipster bars, cozy restaurants, and concert spaces. Those who are more adventurous may explore hidden gems down nearby streets, from local bars to futuristic architecture. With its enriching mix of people of all ages and backgrounds, this neighborhood has a dynamic, inspiring vibe.
