The Hotel Astra is in the 9th arrondissement, just minutes from the Opera Garnier, the Grands Boulevards district, Place Vendome and rue de la Paix. Ideally located close to the city's business centre, our 4-star hotel is close to many entertainment options thanks to its location in the heart of the theatre district, close to the departmet stores, a great location in the City of Lights. You can also get to Disneyland Paris easily. You will be welcomed by our warm and friendly team and be charmed by our 82 rooms with refined and contemporary decor in soft colours and natural wood.

We as many others needed help during a stay with the corona virus. The staff did so much to help accommodate and change our dates due to other trip changes. This was our 4th stay here. Location is great! Easy walk from roissy airport bus and metres to auber metro and a huge selection of buses. We were on the street side and its a bit noisy but they change us to a courtyard room, 306 that was much better. Very good breakfast!! Huge selection of fresh fruit cheese bread and some hot dishes. The hotel has been waiting for 18 months to go ahead with renovations so the halls and rooms are looking worn but they are very clean!! Again the assistant manager and all the desk staff were wonderful. So, to be clear!! This hotel at the moment is not sparklingly luxurious but it is great value for the reasons above

I stayed in Hotel Astra Opera, a member of the Astotel group in February 2020. The location is very good, close to the Auber RER station, severral metro stops like Opera and Madelaine, many bus stops and shops. The breakfast was very nice with a good selection of food. It is old but very clean. The staff is helpful and they said the hotel will undergo renovation starting this March (I was happy to hear this. Also there was an all day complimentary open bar with bites, refreshments, hot and cold beverages. Moreover, you can enjoy this benefit in all Asthotel group hotels around Paris.

I was in this hotel in November 2019, very good location next to Lafayette Gallery 5 min walking, a lot of coffee shops and bars, restaurants around. Good thing about this hotel the room is very clean, sheets and towels are very clean, bathroom and toilet was as well spotless, but the sink is very old, as well the carpet on the floor has to be already changed long time ago as it not goes with the standards of 4 stars hotel. Breakfast was delicious, and service was nice as well! This Hotel needs renovation definitely plus its very expensive, for this kind of money I would expect 5 stars.

Looking at the picture above you would say wow! But once you go through to the bedrooms (bad rooms more like it!) we had what was supposed to be a double room - the closet in the corner was hardly accessible, that is unless you want to keep moving the bedside unit whenever you need to open the pokey closet where once you put a jacket on the hanger it would not fit back in. There are no shelves and we had to keep all our clothes in the luggage, which is so inconvenient when you are there for 6 days. Let me just try and describe the bathroom the sink was all chipped and cracked. The miniature bath/shower had a wonky mixer tap. The “bathroom” is so very small that you have to squeeze yourself between the vanity unit and the toilet to be able to close the door while in there! The only excellent thing about this hotel was the level of cleanliness.

My last review changed about this hotel...except its nice location there is nothing else... They gave us a standard room with one double bed but the bed was so small for a couple ( single and a half). It was for one person....We asked for two beds room but it was fully booked. So it was impossible the good sleep.... Also the all day free buffet was changed and there were some croissants from the breakfast and some bad quality small cakes. Nothing salty as before... The price was much more expensive and IT IS NO MORE A GOOD CHOISE FOR YOUR VISIT IN PARIS...

Where to start, on the face of it the downstairs décor somewhat matches up to the star rating on the front of the door so you are safe in the knowledge that you have booked a good 4 star hotel, you will be so very surprised what awaits you on the other side of the lift. The whole place is in a dire need of painting, the walls look depressing, the carpets worn, and then there's the room. I felt that it was a mixture of between a 70s/80s style that was firmly still stuck in 1979. My first room was tiny but it was facing the courtyard which was quiet. On my first night, excitedly I was contemplating sleep, turned off the light, turned over and then I heard a large crack noise, my bed collapsed! The chap from reception came up to inspect the situation, one of the legs had broken, whilst I held the bed up (they aren't light) he tried for 15 mins to re-attach it, he then informed me that somewhat unsurprisingly it was broken. He would be in touch about moving me to another hotel for the night, so reluctantly I put all my things together and repacked (having just unpacked a few hours earlier). I was informed that the hotel next door had a room (I will review this one separately), let me just make it clear it was a thoroughly unpleasant experience. On checking back in I was upgraded to the balcony suite, whilst the room was bigger the bathroom wasn't and was one huge health hazard, brilliant size for a small person, not for a tall big chap like myself. The balcony was at best terrifying, once I had opened the door (taking out half of the wooden door), it didn't inspire me with much confidence standing outside. Due to the air conditioning only being available in the summer I relied on having to sleep with the balcony door open, this was problematic at best as the street outside is always very loud. My final complaint is that I had pigeons nesting in the roof above me but to be honest I was just counting the days before leaving. Think carefully about staying here, sure the pictures may look great but the star rating system in Paris is abysmal, they simply do not reflect just how bad a hotel can be. The positives I did draw from the experience was that breakfast was nice although the service depended heavily on who was on rotation. The staff in general came across as nice. As my business paid thankfully none of the money came out of my own account.

This hotel is in a great location, on a side street yet only a block from the main shopping. I walked from the hotel to Palais Garnier, Louvre, Musee d'Orsay and Tuileries. The staff at this hotel are amazing, I can't say enough about them. And there were plenty of choices for breakfast. However, the rooms need to be completely renovated. The carpets were stained and lifting, the rooms needed painting, the hallways were too dark and in need of new carpet and paint. They felt very dirty. One of the elevators wasn't working the whole time I was there, so only one was operating. I will stay there again only if renovations were done. This hotel chain has many locations throughout the city, and I don't know if all properties are in this need of refurbishment, but they have an excellent reputation. Again, I can't say enough about how fabulous the staff was.

Very modern and spacious room, especially in Paris terms. Free drinks in mini-bar and in lobby. Breakfast is great and varied. I would definitely recommend this place if you can get for a decent price.
