The main positives of staying in this hotel were the central location and the excellent service provided by the evening concierge team. The team were knowledgeable, able to discuss what I wanted to get done and made bookings on my behalf. The bar was very small and poorly stocked with a number of drinks unavailable from what was already a somewhat limited selection given that we were in the centre of Paris. Breakfast also had an element of disappointment, as other reviewers have noted, the pastry selection was poor quality and when items ran out they were not quickly replaced. My room was decent enough, though the bathroom was small and I kept catching myself on various random fittings leaving me with a few bruises.
Just had an amazing 3 nights at Maison Astor. It is in a terrific location and very walkable to all sides of the city. My daughter and I had a beautiful room with terrace and were able to get 2 twin beds. The shower is wonderful but what is even better is the friendly staff literally everywhere.. the check in, the restaurant, the bar and the concierge were all amazing and friendly and ok great care of us always with smiles and looking to ensure we were maximizing our time. The concierge even reached out ahead of our visit to help with any questions I had and to pre book any sites we wanted to see. Great breakfast and comfortable beds.
Unique property in great location previously owned by John Jacob Astor. Beautiful, smaller property with great staff. Luxury furnishings, vibrant colors, yummy food. Close enough to walk everywhere. Friendly & efficient service. Concierge, Stephane, was amusing & very helpful.
We stayed for 2 nights, on arrival staff weren’t welcoming at all and didn’t come across as if they cared even a manager avoided eye contact when we saw her. The first room allocated had a significant maintenance issue so we went down to reception and instead of offering a room move straight away, the girl suggested to send someone to fix it, not a good idea after arriving from a long trip. Not a great first impression and zero follow up from the management. The second room was very small, the bedside tables were tiny like from a dolls house. No shower gel provided only shampoo. The space between the bed and desk was so small that it would prevent an easy scape in case of fire! Room Service menu was very limited no burger or Club sandwich available, very strange. A/C didn’t work properly and room was unbearably hot. The worst part of the stay was the breakfast. Impersonal service, self service from a dark room including powder coffee, processed cheeses, rusted coffee pot, cheapest frozen croissants and pastries (in Paris?), fruit bowl containing 6 limes and lemons. Overall the breakfast was very poor, no attention to detail, run by disengaged agency staff who were more interested in chatting amongst themselves than serving paying customers. I raised my concerns with the same girl who checked us in and she couldn’t care less. Hilton “Make it right” principle not in practice. This hotel is very dark, the busy furniture and lack of A/C made it worse. Concierge staff saw us passing by many times and were just looking at their screens rather that acknowledging our presence. It appears many people staying there were redeeming Hilton loyalty points, if you pay full price you would be very disappointed.…
Stood in reception as two staff members chatted (the most senior with her back to us). We eventually got a "Checking in?" without a smile. Paris is renown for small hotel rooms, but for €350+ a night, one expects more than a (tiny) shoe box. Grim. The staff throughout our short stay would rarely acknowledge us, less so smile. Breakfast well below par - soggy croissants - in Paris; incredible! Poor experience all round.
The location is super convenient for shopping and sightseeing and the physical building is beautiful but the magic of this place is the staff. They were all absolutely wonderful. From the first interactions with Juliette, Jaklin, Nathan, and the dining crew (who saw how tired we were after arriving on a super early flight and offered complimentary coffee and pastries) to the housekeeping staff (Ashareem?) to the night staff of Hugo, Ruben, and the bar crew, my mom and I were well taken care of. I’ve honestly never had such great service. I cannot wait to go back.
Stayed here in May 2022. The hotel was great but has to major flaws. One the windows are of poor quality for a hotel that was renovated in 2018. We heard so much noise from outside the window twice that we couldn't sleep without waking up many times. Second flaw are breakfast timings. How this hotel thinks 7:00am is a good time to open the breakfast is strange. Everyone was heading for tours many left the hotel hungry. Also the hotels breakfast runs on French time so do not expect it to open at 7:00am!. Also check your bill at check out the breakfast staff doesn't understand English depending on who is working they cannot understand room numbers in English so your bill may show charges. We had this issue but I caught it on check out! The hotel is great just these two issues bring the hotel down for being a Hilton collection hotel for the amount they charge.…
Excellent location to move around. We walked to most places. If need to take a Metro, it is also within walking distance to the station. Staff were friendly. Price is a little on the high side since we stayed for 9 nights.
This was our second time in this hotel. Last time we stayed here 12 years ago (!), after realizing that the hotel we originally booked was so noisy that we could not sleep! One of the problems that we see in Paris is that most of the luxury hotels with good location are on very noisy streets or squares. While I would not call Maison Astor a luxury hotel it is definitely very comfortable, well appointed and quiet hotel. It is located in a side street but only a short walk from the metro station and restaurants and key tourist attractions. I think that during those 12 years the hotel has changed the owner but continues to deliver quality service. The highlight of this stay, however, was the assistance of most fabulous concierge (unfortunately as I am very bad with names I don't remember his!!!!!!!). We were travelling with two sons, one of the on crutches (skiing accident!!!) so we needed a lot of assistance. The concierge not only recommended great, easily accessible, restaurants many of which we would not find ourselves, but also organized guides for the museums and when needed a wheelchair for our son! He also provided us with lots of local knowledge which we need even more now due our party's mobility restrictions. In a way he knew better than us what we would need and where we should go. I highly recommend the hotel even if the for the concierge alone! For photos and more reviews (not only travel) see my Instagram profile @anitaisjustperfect…
I was traveling in a party of five and stayed the last two days of my Paris stay at the Mason Astor. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were offered drinks whilst waiting to check in which was a delight after a long day of travel. .The checkin was smooth and fast and we were upgraded to a deluxe room which was as very good size by Parisian standards. Breakfast was also very good with a large selection .On the day of checkout, as we had an early flight, whilst having breakfast, my friend left her handphone on the breakfast table and we noticed that it was only missing on the way to the airport. We called the hotel and the staff was so kind to have found the handphone and arranged for a taxi to bring the handphone to the airport. He even called us back to provide the diver’s taxi number plate and handphone number. In 25 minutes , we met the driver at the airport and got the phone back. I would like to sincerely thank the staff of Mason Astor , apologies that I did not get their names in taking extra step to help arrange delivery the phone. We are eternally grateful . Kudos to a wonderful and honest team ! I will not hesitate to recommend the hotel for a comfortable and safe stay. …
