My wife and I visited Paris for the 1st time in our lives the 1st week of December. Arrived Saturday at 8:30 AM and the front desk person was extremely helpful. The room was not ready (nor did we expect it to be) but they secured our luggage, provided us a map, some basic suggestions and off we went to wander (in fact we wandered an average of 18,000 steps each day). The hotel was supposed to call us when the room was ready but I think they lost my cell phone number or forgot because when we returned around 3:30 PM the room was ready and I had an email telling me it was ready at 2 PM. No big deal. Our room was a singular extra (I paid more for the slightly larger space with the sofa). Please be aware that the singular extra rooms are all located next to the service elevator so very infrequently we did hear some slight noise but again not enough to be an issue. Room was wonderful but tight by American standards but we knew that going in. Small but clean bathroom area with a shower area. Breakfast buffet was included in our package and in other reviews, I heard people complain because each day was the same exact items but we had really good food and enough variety to not be bored. This is a small hotel (35 room total I think) so the breakfast area was small but cozy. Wonderful court yard area but was way to cold to sit outside but imagine in spring , summer or fall a great place to relax. Entire staff (dining, front desk, cleaning) were all very nice and willing to do what they could to fulfill requests. The dining area is also has a very small bar with very limited selections and it was closed Monday - Wed during our visit but when I requested an after dinner drink upon our return to the hotel on late night, the front desk did open the room and pour a whiskey which I took to the room. The hotels locations (1 minute walk to the Seine) with immediate views of Notre Dame plus the neighborhood area had no shortage of food, drink and people watching options. I will make one small comment and only because I read it in someone else's review. When you exit your room into the very short hallway to steps or elevator, there is some time of automatic air freshener device on the wall and while the dispensed fragrance did not bother me, my wife thought it smelled like a person applied too much cheap perfume. Again, this is not a complaint but we did smell something like the other person. Perhaps a lavender or lemon scent would be more welcome. Overall, I believe the hotel delivered exactly what we wanted, had a great staff and was an excellent value.

Dear guest, First of all, allow us to thank you for choosing Maison Colbert, Member of Melia Collection, for your stay at the City of Lights. The entire team would like also to thank you for taking a time to make a review for us. We kindly inform that we have taken a note regarding all the issues mentioned for you and Hotel Management has been informed about it. Regarding the phone call when your room was ready, we can inform you that Front Desk called you, however we could not reach you, that's why we sent an email at least to inform about your room status. For another part, we also kindly communicate that our hotel is a boutique hotel from the 16th century and it was before a traditional French house, that's the reason why rooms are cozy and not like American's room. We provide an unique experience of living like it was before. The team of the hotel is at your disposal for anything else you may need and we wish to see you very soon again. Best regards, Rocio Lobato Guest Experience Department

We stayed at the hotel during a long weekend, they offered us a room in the 5th floor, with partial view of Notre Dame, and a bathtub. The hotel staff, in particular Maria Jose who assisted us with the planning prior to our arrival, were very helpful and polite. The decor is very pleasant, combining elements from Spanish paintor Sorolla and traditional Parisian themes. The hotel has plenty of services despite being a small boutique hotel, I reccomend trying the breakfast in bed once. The hotel is very quiet and calm, and despite having some minor public works on the street due to the Olympic Games preparation, there was no noise in our bedroom. We had a very (un-characteristic) sunny weekend, therefore the only reccomendation I'd have for the hotel would be to partially cover the terrace with some heaters to make it more attractive on the typical parisian day.

Although I am a frequent tourist and make a few stays in hotels and apartments throughout the year (I am a genius 3 member at booking, melia gold...), I do not often give my opinion on social networks. But there are accommodations where you feel the need to share the experience because they have made you feel at home and have really contributed to making an unforgettable trip. This is the case of Maison Colbert. I spent an extraordinary weekend in Paris with my wife, and among other things it was thanks to the hotel staff, its facilities, its location and its services. Starting with the welcome at reception in Spanish from Antonio and Maria José, who explained to us everything we had to see and know to enjoy the weekend, in addition to Adán and Valeria, passing through the staff who served breakfast also in Spanish ( I'm sorry I don't remember the girl's name), as well as the attention of those responsible for guest experiences (bottle of champagne and chocolates included in the room), the Maison Colbert team is formidable. The services are also in line with a 5-star Meliá, highlighting the quality of the breakfast that combines the buffet with a menu of dishes prepared to order. The hotel is a boutique hotel in a tastefully decorated historic building and is perfect for traveling with your partner. We stayed in a Singular Extra Room on the first floor, which for Paris is a good size and, of course, all the comforts. I can't rate the rest of the room categories, but ours met our expectations. Finally, in terms of location, it is excellent, next to Notre Dame, in the Latin Quarter, but on a quiet street perfect for resting. In short, it is the ideal hotel that you have in mind when you think of a romantic weekend in Paris, we are looking forward to returning sometime, and I absolutely recommend it.

On my last morning in Paris, I decided to treat myself to breakfast at a nearby hotel.
The staff were lovely and the food was okay but I did not feel that the price tag quite matched the experience.
The breakfast room was small and quite dark with an array of fresh items in the middle of the room including fresh fruits, meats, cheese, bread, vegetables, pastries and cereals.
There was also a menu to order from where I chose a few dishes.
The food was nicely presented but I wasn’t particularly blown away by the taste and found it to be of the same standard that one could get in any brunch cafe in Paris.
The fresh items were nice but I did not like that the jams were all shared with the same spoon. I also found some of them bitter, so no idea when they were first opened. It would have been much better to have small, fresh jars in my opinion.
At €32 it was a very expensive breakfast for me but I’m glad that I had the experience of trying it…..not quite sure I would pay it again though.

Upon arrival in Paris, we spent seven nights at this charming and elegant boutique hotel. A genuinely pleasant hotel located in the Latin district of the left bank. As Paris hotels go, this would still be expensive and considered luxury. However, it has a lot going for. Beginning with the location: It is a short block away from the Seine River overlooking the Notre Dame Cathedral. It is about one block away from the Shakespeare and Company bookstore. We comfortably walked to all the major sites of Paris. However, taxis are plentiful, and the hotel can arrange as needed. As it is in the heart of Paris, the hotel is on a noticeably quiet, narrow street. The rooms were very nice with modern amenities. We have been to Paris a few times and I would judge the room we stayed in is larger. The bathroom and especially the shower were spacious. We had windows overlooking the front courtyard. Paris was a bit hot and humid while we were there. The air conditioner was just OK, but we found that opening the two windows (we were on the fifth floor) helped. Each night we found chocolates, wine, and other items that made for a pleasant experience, thanks to the PR manager Maria, who made our stay a bit more enjoyable and welcoming. Thank you, Maria! What really makes an exceptional hotel, however, are the staff. And… for that reason, we consider this hotel to be an exceptional hotel!! The staff were extremely helpful and sincerely friendly. We were made to feel right at home. We were always being checked upon to see if everything was to our satisfaction. We ate breakfast each day in the hotel cafeteria. They served an exclusive buffet of a variety of breads, cheeses, meats, yogurt, juices, and many more Parisian delicacies. They also offer eggs and coffee made to order. Service was extremely good. They took care of all our bookings and made arrangements for taxis to Paris Disneyland and other areas through their preferred vendors, so we always had great drivers. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel for its location, extremely brilliant staff, and the physical facilities. Suggestion: If you are planning for taxis be sure to understand if the taxi is considered a private transfer or a normal metered taxi. Not a big deal, we took a taxi a short distance to the train station for 50 Euros. That is the going rate for a private transfer.

I visited this hotel last weekend for two days after leaving SO Paris hotel and was greeted very nicely with staff. The horror started right after I took my second shower at this location. The towel warmer was faulty heating to 36C and caused a horrible burn on my left arm. My skin is missing and bubble with a black scar next to the scabs. I called down instantly for the concierge who had another attendant confirm it was up too high and another who brought burn cream. To my dismay while checking out the staff tried to offer me a free breakfast (which was already paid for by my AMEX rewards) and then I received a lukewarm email from Solene apologizing but offering me points to stay. This is unacceptable! For something that will require further medical attention. I have not heard back from anyone after asking Solene to further my request.

The building and location of this small hotel are perfect, right by Notre Dame and a new area for me in Paris after many visits. A really warm welcome and drink started things well. The room was quite small with a lot in it. The bed was huge though and very comfortable with lovely linen. The shower room was tiny and I did wonder how some people would manage with it, but everything worked. From the decoration and vibe, I think this hotel is set up for the Instagram crowd as it’s all very pretty with lots of stuff dotted about, however it makes for a not very practical room. The breakfast room was similar and whilst all very polite, service was quite slow, tables needed clearing and the food/drinks needed to be replenished. Lastly, we had the do not disturb light on just before leaving and a cleaning guy still knocked on our door and came in. We also think that someone had been in whilst we were at breakfast as we turned the lights off but they were on when we returned. An average stay, ok for one night, good for the Insta crowd.

We have taken note about these and we have informed the concerned departments, and also Hotel Management. Outstanding experience at this boutique hotel. This is a very quaint small high end boutique hotel. The locations is perfect tucked away on a side street yet only a block from the heart of the Latin Quarter. Right across the river from Notre Dame and a 20 minute walk to the Louvre. So many restaurants and cafes within a block of the hotel there were so many options to eat and drink it was fabulous. The rooms were very nice with comfortable beds and cold air conditioning as it was quite warm when we were in Paris. The absolute best part of this hotel however was the service. Maria in guest services was FABULOUS. Every member of the staff we interacted with during our stay was wonderful.

I love the Melia Collection but this hotel is so special and was so much more than I expected. The staff were amazing and so helpful and friendly. The hotel is a piece of art, each room is exquisite and pays tribute to the Spanish artist Joaquin Sorolla, beautiful! You are in the best quarter of Paris, a few minutes walk from everywhere and when you get back to your hotel you feel like you have arrived home. I will note stay anywhere else in Paris! Thank you so much to all at Hotel Maison Colbert, you guys are amazing and we will be back!
