The hotel is small and very quiet, located in a magnificent area of Paris, an uptown area with beautiful shops and cafes like Laduree, in a beautiful location.
The rooms are beautiful and the Meliá quality is evident: large and comfortable beds, freshly ironed sheets, Ritual products in the bathroom... a very cozy and quality place.
In addition, the staff speaks Spanish and are all very friendly, the breakfast is small but of great quality and everything is delicious. To highlight Elena, who served us at breakfast on the days we were there and was very kind to us and friendly to our daughter. People like this make a difference.
From the hotel there is a walk to the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe so you can walk and it is a nice and quiet walk. Quiet area, with the subway next door, and on the same street a McDonald's and a Starbucks.
I recommend it and if we return to Paris, we will return to this hotel.

Wonderful hotel with wonderful staff as well. A shout out to Hellena of the Guest Relations team for her kindness and for going out the extra mile to always ensure that we were comfortable.

We had a courtyard-facing room on the second floor which was away from the noise of the street although we got the sense that the Avenue Victor Hugo, on which the hotel is located, wasn't that noisy. We were pleasantly surprised that the rooms are rather large as compared to the rooms we have stayed in in other Paris hotels.

We booked on a bed and breakfast basis and the hotel had a wonderful spread - from breakfast cereals, cold cuts, fresh fruit juices and a hot spread.

The hotel is located a few minutes from the Victor Hugo Metro station so it was a breeze to zip around Paris.

This was a very good stay.

We have stayed at other Melia properties in Spain, Mexico, etc and have had a great experience so when we saw a Melia in Paris we did not hesitate to book it. What disappointment we had. This hotel is rated as a 4 Star hotel but is nothing like it. I understand that is located in an area where not too many changes or upgrades if any can be made to the exterior of the building but the inside was rotten. The walls were peeling. the bathroom had mold, the inside of the toilet was yellow. All around a very disgusting experience. We called reception to ask why the AC was not working, and they told us that due to "Global Warming" hotels in Paris are not allowed to turn on ACs when the temp outside has chilled and that we had to open the windows to get the room to a good temperature. totally unacceptable and this was not true. We opened the windows and there were a lot of doves flying around and we could barely rest since we thought the doves were going to come into the room. I told my wife to just wing it for now since we were so exhausted from the trip that after we checked in, we fell asleep for a bit. We went out and once we got back we settle to fall asleep for the night. Here is where the second round of problems began and what put us over the top. We tried to reach someone to get a second set of pillows since the pillows we had looked like baby pillows and nobody would answer. We tried to call for almost 1 hr with no answer from anyone. We could barely rest because since we had to sleep with the window open and we could hear conversations and noises coming from other rooms as well as doves flying around the garden area. At some point a dove flew so close to our window, we thought it was going to come in. Never the less we could barely rest that night and woke up destroyed the next day. When we woke up I told my wife there was not way I was putting up with 3 more nights on sleeping like this and we decided to pack our bags and look for another hotel, the Marignan Champ Elyses which turned out to be excellent. On our way out when we checked out, Julian the front desk person, a true hospitality professional totally understood our point and asked us to please hang on for the manager. HE came back to tell us the manager was on the phone and she will be right out in 5 mins. Not sure how we did it, but we managed to wait a total of 44 mins for the manager to come out and she never did. Looked like she was not interested in dealing with a situation. All in all, a terrible experience and I would never recommend this hotel.

Responded Oct 20, 2024
Dear Mr. Hernandez, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We sincerely regret that your stay did not meet your expectations, especially given your positive experiences with other Meliá properties. Please accept our apologies for the inconveniences you encountered during your visit. We take your comments regarding the condition of the room very seriously. Our hotel is an older building, and while we strive to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort, we recognize that there are areas that require improvement. We are currently working on a plan to address some of these issues and ensure that our rooms provide a better experience for our guests in the future. Regarding the air conditioning, we apologize for the confusion. Due to regulations in Paris, the use of air conditioning is limited during certain months of the year, depending on the outside temperature. We understand that this is not ideal, and we are working on ways to provide better temperature control for our guests during transitional weather periods. We also regret that the window situation caused you discomfort, and we are reviewing ways to improve this for future stays. We are very sorry that your attempt to contact reception for additional pillows went unanswered. This is certainly not the level of service we aim to provide, and we will review our communication protocols to ensure this doesn’t happen again. We also apologize for the lack of follow-up when you were waiting for the manager. We understand that your concerns were important, and we regret that the manager was unable to meet with you in a timely manner. We will address this with our team to ensure that guests feel heard and attended to promptly. It’s clear that your experience did not reflect the high standards we strive for, and we deeply regret that you felt this way. We truly appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve, and we hope that you will reconsider staying with us in the future. We would love the opportunity to provide you with a more comfortable experience should you decide to return to Paris. Thank you again for your valuable comments. Best regards, Front Office Team

Upon check in we were told that the room type we requested was unavailable. This is not the fault of the hotel but they were completely indifferent. When we asked for more towels( there were only 2 and we had 3 people in the room) the girl at the front desk said she only spoke French and Spanish- really?
The next day checking out we had our bags stored at the hotel until it was time to leave for the airport. There is no where to change clothes and the bathroom on the fiesta floor was filthy. A lot of money for one night in Paris, so many other amazing hotels.

Dear Zeekat123, first of all thank you for sharing with us your experience. We would like to convey our apologies if your experience with us didn't go beyond your expectation. I am very surprised to read that the lady at the reception only can speak French or Spanish, as all our team speaks english, I hope it has been only a misunderstanding. At Melia Hotels International hotels we have a strong commitment to excellence and we feel frustrated when we are not able to go beyond our guest`s expectations. We hope to welcome you back in order to change this impression you had and offer you the service you deserve. Please do not hesitate to contact me for any assistance you may need for your next reservation with us. Warm regards, Bruna Auditore Executive Assistant Manager

The Meliá Paris Champs Elysees hotel has an excellent location, it is located in an elegant residential area, a short walk from the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysées and very close to the Trocadero and the iconic Eiffel Tower. It is on Victor Hugo Avenue, close to the best boutiques in Paris and the best cafes. All hotel staff have been very attentive and friendly. Their breakfast buffet has a lot of variety and quality. We have really enjoyed this week in Paris, visiting the Louvre, Orsay, the Sacre Cour and Versailles and riding our bikes around the city

Pros
Friendly and helpful staff (recommending places to eat & ordering taxis).
Good location close to sites.
Nice hotel lobby.
Beautiful and spacious bathroom.
Nice teas and coffee provided.

…..
Cons
Room smelt of cigarettes when first entered had to open all windows.
Rooms & corridors could do with a refurb.
Walls thin, could hear noises from neighbouring rooms all night.
Shower changes between hot and cold.
No shower cap.
No iron in room (although note, you can book an ironing service the night before for a fee).
Internet signal bad on laptop.
Breakfast room too small for amount of people (I would suggest that they stagger the times that guests go for breakfast).
Room service for dinner advertised but not offered.

My stay here was ok. But for the fact that basic things were not met, and also given the price, I have to rate it below average.

Spectacular hotel, cozy, very clean and above all well located. The breakfast is very good with a wide variety and in love with the natural orange juice they have. I would especially highlight the human quality that the hotel has, helpful from the moment you enter the hotel until you leave, helping you in every way possible and even more so since it was the first time we were going to France and they were solving all the doubts that arose for us. Totally recommend this Meliá Paris Champs - Elysées hotel. Many thanks for everything
