Detailed Reviews
Seriously I am Lifetime at both Marriott and Starwood before the merge.
Return to Paris Le Meridien Etoile for a convention last week sadly what was an institution is falling down in quality of food and service.
I am used to receiving in the least alittle bit of friendly touch when I arrive at the hotel properties. I did not find that here and it is very disappointing.
The lounge used to be nice, one could find during the day desserts of real French quality. Many times when I took a break, I found the same croissants from breakfast put out all day long still on offer for evening in the lounge. This is really a bad mark on the F&B managers and if there IS anyone ever manages the lounge (I never saw any management control), shame on them for scamming guests who are paying a considerable amount in Euros there. Really, this place needs a kick in the ass. People I have seen before just lazy and going through the motions. I am rethinking to stay there at my next congress.
I understood this time the sous chief is in charge. When I did find something other than croissants, it was not to the Le Meridien previous quality or standard. Almost thought it was from box. Some inedible and everyone just leaving it on the plates. No takers. Thats not a good sign as usually people want more there.
Here I ask what is going on with Management supervision? The Quality and Services should never be Degraded to this level. Everyone says its difficult to terminate employment in France. But what about motivations, staff programs to keep up morale? Its management 101, why do they let their staff AND management go lax?
The housekeeping do not appear to have management controls on the room attendants. Replenish your room, maybe ? I took off my Do Not Disturb and one day no one serviced my room.
Honestly very disappointing stay. I hope management can pull their act together again, Remind their staff to remember their guests are in fact guests, not just widget filling up rooms.

With 1,025 guest rooms, Le Meridien Etoile is one one the largest hotels in Paris. Despite its size there are a lot of features that recommend it. I was there as part of a Viking Cruise for 3 days and 2 nights. The location puts you steps away from the Champs Elysees. Across the street is the Palais des Congress which has a metro station, Porte Maillet, which will take you to the heart of the city. Stops on the Metro take you to the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, etc..You can walk to the Arc de Triomphe. although it is a long walk. Other features which make this hotel attractive include:the extensive breakfast buffet which for me was included in by cruise package, the breakfast seating area was huge with an other option in the center court, the large beautiful lobby, the contemporary lounge and bar, the King size comfortable bed and large room. flat screen TV with good reception and numerous channels and the housekeeping was prompt and through. There was no hint of smoking in my non-smoking room. I found a number of great meals at a reasonable price within 300 feet of the hotel. The hotel issued key card worked really well as did the internet service on the 3rd floor that I used to check my flight.
The toilet was in a separate room from the wash sink and shower. The toilet room was small and basic. there was no coffee machine in the room but the hotel offered 2 complimentary coffee vouchers for the lobby coffee bar. The lobby could of had an ATM for currency exchange. If I was not part of the Viking cruise the breakfast buffet would have cost me $28. some areas looked a bit dated but all areas were clean.

Check in was a breeze and staff were nice and professional.
The Senior Suite room was nice but upon checking both of the toilets, it was dirty. Stains in the toilet bowl and shower floor. It looks like it has not been cleaned for weeks or even months, 2 toilet bowls were filthy dirty. We wonder how do they clean the rooms during the covid pandemic after seeing the bathrooms. Maybe the room wasn't used for quite some time but it must be checked before offering it to a guest.
We quickly phoned up the manager and upon checking, his first suggestion was to just clean it and we didn't really feel that he was sorry for what has happened. He apologised after we said our sentiments. We told the manager that he should think of possible solution aside from just cleaning the bathrooms. The manager was not so proactive with the solution as I have to suggest for solutions. I told him to check for other rooms or suites, he quickly said there are no more suites available in the hotel but upon checking online, they were still selling senior suites for that day. We didn't want to argue as we were tired. He showed us two rooms, and we just opted to stay in a connecting rooms. Knowing that we will just stay in connecting room, I have to ask him if they will return my suite night awards, If I didnt ask for it, the manager wouldn't even bother to return it. They will not give any compensation for inconvenienced they have caused.
Their website still says they have lounge access. Yes, they have but it will be in the main restaurant bar on the ground floor and not on the terrace as what they have wrtitten in their website. During happy hour, you have one plate with 2 cheese on it and unlimited alcohol drinks.
Breakfast offer was great and staff were also accommodating and nice.
I still give them 3 stars but we will not return to this hotel.

I stayed for a week for a business trip upon a recommendation and I made the right choice. For business travelers, the hotel is fully equipped to handle all needs.
*Rooms
The room and bathroom were clean, decently sized and modern. There was a safe, tea kettle, refrigerator, plenty of closet space, hangers, and I loved that I could open the window for fresh air. I asked for a robe and toiletries prior to my arrival and they were in my room when I checked in. The area around the desk had USB ports which is convenient and the wireless signal was strong.
As for housekeeping, I signed up for the be green program so it was only cleaned 2x but they did a good job. My only slight disappointment was the lack of counter space in the bathroom. There was room for shelves so this could be improved.
*Customer Service, Concierge, Amenities
The customer service is outstanding. The concierge desk with 2-3 employees were top notch. Anytime I asked for something, they fulfilled quickly and with pleasure. They even called to check that I satisfactorily received the items or service. The laundry service was fast and delivered to your room on the same day.
*Club Lounge
The club lounge on the 8th floor was a lifesaver in between meetings with snacks, drinks and computers. I didn’t try the breakfast or any meals due to my work schedule. The night view of the Eiffel Tower from the club lounge patio is not to be missed. This is the only Marriott hotel in Paris with a proper lounge. For me, a titanium member, a Marriott hotel not having a lounge is a big disappointment and I would be less inclined to make a reservation.
*Food
There is a lobby cafe shop to buy drinks salads sandwiches and small bites. The cookies, napoleon dessert and quiche were particularly tasty. I never tried the lobby bar food. There is no dedicated restaurant except the bar.
*Transportation & Neighborhood
Because it’s such a big hotel with a private circular entrance, there were plenty of taxis waiting outside and everyone knows the hotel and it’s location.
While it is not located within walking distance to shopping/tourist attractions, there is a subway (#1 yellow line which is automated so I didn’t have to worry about strikes) a few blocks away. The neighborhood is quiet and there are lots of restaurants, grocery stores, local shops and even a mall/movie theater/food court across the street inside the convention center. Rocco restaurant on rue Guillaume Penn was especially good.
If they had a full service restaurant and more bathroom counter space, I would have given it 5 stars.
I enjoyed my stay so much that I’m coming back with my family in July.

My wife and I are on a tour of France and are spending three nights at Le Meridien Etoile in Paris. There are some very positive aspects and some less than positive. Right now in September 2021 the entire area is a construction zone in preparation for the 2024 Olympics. Very noisy and difficult to get around the streets even walking. Terrible to sit in an outside cafe and have a giant jackhammer in your ear.
Staff at the reception and bell staff are extremely friendly and helpful and all speak English. Housekeeping has been TERRIBLE. One day not only did they not leave any toilet paper, they actually removed what had been in the bathroom.
We have only eaten breakfast at the hotel. Breakfast is great. Coffee is plentiful and strong as we like it. The breads are great. All hot food is in separate individual ramekins. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes all come in individual ramekins which you take to your table to eat.
The room is small but clean. Combo tub/shower. Plenty of hot water.
Because of the construction in this area, I would not recommend using this hotel now.

Filled with tour groups and airline crews, the Meridien is a large modern hotel at the edge of Paris that checks off the boxes of what you need in a hotel but offers very little character or charm. The large lobby feels like an airport (entered through a classic airport revolving door!), hallways are endlessly long, rooms have low ceilings and my room was dark and decorated in shades of black and gray. While relatively large, the room also was poorly laid out with a large empty space without furnishings or a rack to hold luggage. As a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum, I was upgraded and given access to the Meridien "lounge" which consisted of a roped off area in the main dining room that was open from breakfast to early evening and included a vey limited buffet spread and access to coffee or drinks that could only be ordered through a single attendant, making it inconvenient to get beverages in a timely manner. I'm not sure if this is the permanent lounge or if this was a temporary set up. It seemed like the latter. On the plus side, the hotel service is attentive, from the front desk to the concierge. There are water dispensers and ice machines (a real rarity in France) on each hallway. The hotel's location seems like it is on the edge of Paris but is actually well connected to the city's excellent transportation network. The Porte Maillot metro stop is at the Palais des Congres across the street and the Etoile is just a 10 minute walk, with access to a huge transit hub (multiple metro lines and RER) as well as the Champs Elysees. Depending on your budget and the differential between rates at hotels in central Paris, the Meridien could be a perfectly good option. Just don't expect to be wowed.

We just finished our week stay at La Méridien Paris Étoile and I was somewhat underwhelmed. I’ll preface this by saying all the staff we encountered were friendly and accommodating without exception. However, this is a VERY busy hotel that is used by several your groups which can make reception and breakfast very chaotic. We were provided with an upgraded room which was nice. The room numbers are bizarrely arranged, they don’t alternate as you go down the hall. The numbers go up one side of the hall and then back around up which is confusing at times. Housekeeping was hit or miss and amenities and towels weren’t replenished daily on some days we received three body moisturizers and no body wash. The club lounge was always stocked with soda and water and offered a decent selection of food in the morning or evening but full breakfast is only in the main restaurant. The breakfast offered a decent array of your typical items but good god the eggs! I’m not sure the chef has ever seen scrambled eggs before. I don’t mind mine runny but are they supposed to be soup? Ask for an omelette or special order but RUN from those eggs.
Le Méridien offers a decent value for the price given how expensive Paris can be but a little improvement would make this a 5 star experience.

Situated directly across from the Palais des Congrès shopping mall and conveniently served by Metro Line 1 and RER C, this hotel offers an unbeatable location. The world-famous Champs-Élysées is just a short Metro ride or a pleasant 20-minute walk away, while the vibrant Avenue des Ternes, with its abundance of restaurants, shops, and supermarkets, is right on your doorstep.
The hotel's staff, from the front desk to the concierge, porters, and restaurant personnel, are exceptionally accommodating. Each room is thoughtfully equipped with modern amenities, including a hairdryer, iron, tea-coffee maker, safe deposit box, and a mini-fridge. The en-suite bathroom and shower are impeccably clean and feature stylish toiletries. Complimentary bottled water is provided, though Paris' tap water is safe to drink.
The hotel's expansive dining area offers a delightful variety of breakfast options, from hot and cold dishes to fresh fruits and a selection of beverages. Enjoy gourmet coffees, including cappuccinos and espressos, or indulge in a custom-made omelet prepared by the hotel's talented chef.
I wouldn't hesitate to book again at this hotel.

We had a very pleasant experience at the hotel. The staff at check-in were very polite and graciously linked my three separate one-night bookings into one, despite them being different room types. The room was clean and nicely appointed and had a view of the Eiffel Tower (see attachment). We experienced no noise issues at all during our stay. As a Platinum member I was able to use the executive lounge, which appears to have been refurbished, and there were snacks and wine available from 6pm to 8pm. Importantly, during our stay the lounge was never full, and had a nicely relaxing vibe. The buffet breakfast available in the morning is excellent (try the vegetable samosas and ham/cheese croissants), however it was quite noisy and busy at all times I visited, and showed a good cross section of guest demographics, which appeared mostly to be North Americans of advanced age and airline staff.
Lastly this is simply an excellent location. There are plenty of dining choices within easy walking distance. You can walk around the corner to Avenue des Champs-Élysées and everything that offers, and we even walked to the Eiffel Tower without issue (we are in our 40s). And since our stay coincided with the French Open, it was something like 10 minutes or less by Uber to Roland Garros Stadium.
To summarize I think this hotel offers everything you need to enjoy sightseeing in Paris: Excellent location, acceptable and clean rooms, friendly staff, and the fringe benefits of Marriott status such as free breakfast, lounge access and so on.

To get from Paris to Disneyland Paris you need to take the RER A line, the red line, east (ost) to Marne-la-Vallee–Chessy. The bullet stops here too.
We took the RER train to Gare du Nord and then hopped on the Metro. If you're comfortable with public transport, go for it!
You can easily get into central Paris using the train service. RER line B will take you to Chatelet Les Halles, where the metro line 1, direction Defense will take you to Porte Maillot station for the hotel. If I recall the train to metro interchange was quite a walk, so if you’ve got a lot of luggage it’s a taxi from the airport I think. The metro isn’t very welcoming as you get late into the night, so you might also want to avoid that ifyourflightarrives late.
For a meal at the Eiffel Tower I would try a book direct with the restaurant if you go onto the Jules Verne website there is an email address to book. The views are amazing, but it’s expensive. For cruises on the Seine I’d look at Tripadvisor and find one with a lot of positive reviews.
What we had approximated a Queen-sized bed.
