Typical quaint small hotel rooms. Great location just around the corner from St Germain de Pres. Clean rooms but very small - we had to move the side table out in order for our luggage to fit in, however, we could not go past the location. Great!

My personal opinion is that the area of St. Germaine is the best when traveling to Paris. It's a quaint, boutique style area with lots of shops & restaurants but still easy to walk to most of the historic spots. Hotel Des Deux Continents was perfect for our needs, the room was small but outfitted in traditional French furnishings which... More

Perfect for our needs. Small room indeed, mostly taken up by the comfortable bed. And ice cold - a brilliant surprise at 5pm on an August day. Balcony with tiny table for two for your ideal-perfect rooftop image of Paris. (for those not suffering from nervosos americanos). Nearby restaurants abound. Polite, helpful, inscrutable, distant staff - perfect. Ideal place for... More

It's nothing fancy....we had a nice time here. Nice and clean - and yes, there is AC. That's something in Paris - in July! The rooms are very small. We had two adjoining rooms for us and our young children. Nice location - walking distance to restaurants, museums, etc.

Due to an unfortunate airline complication we missed a couple of days in Paris and while extending our stay we had to transfer hotels because the original hotel did not have rooms for our extra day. This hotel is centrally located and less than 200m metres from the metro and 15 minutes direct on metro to Eurostar at Gare de Noord. Easy walk to Notre Dame. The staff were very helpful and the hotel was clean and had comfortable beds. There was no lift however and the toilet and shower were very small.

We found the Hotel des Deux Continents clean and quaint although the rooms were a little small for a family of young adults. Typical small rooms and costly. However, we would stay there again. Staff spoke English and hotel served as a nice retreat during our 3-day visit. Breakfast was standard Parisian fare, which I enjoyed. Not a good option for GF diners, however. We bought our own bread at the Monoprix and enjoyed the variety of cheeses and jams.

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
