The hotel is well located, clean and friendly. No real problems with the stay but the room was small even by Parisian standards - just enough around the side of the bed and it had a tiny wardrobe. Although worth noting that there was a mini-bar with space to keep our own drinks cool. Our room was on the ground... More

Stayed for a short Paris break. Small hotel with friendly staff within walking distance of many tourist attractions, bars, patisseries and excellent restaurants. The rooms are not large, but better than most Paris hotels of the same price and location. The bath/shower rooms are modern for Paris! The lift failed on one day and it was a bit of a... More

I stayed at the Agora in early June, again on business in Paris. I'm pleased to report that my stay was as pleasant the second time as the first. The first time, I stayed on the 3rd floor in a double. This time I stayed on the 5th floor - and my room was exactly the same! Friendly staff, reasonable... More

This hotel was great - friendly staff, great location to subway, and really close to Notre Dame. As a single female traveler I felt really safe in the hotel and the surrounding area. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again. A minor problem was the air conditioner was leaking and the dripping was a bit noisy,... More

Just returned from a two night break in Paris, staying at the Agora. I found the hotel on the Eurostar website and then looked at reviews on "tripadvisor". The reviews were good and the hotel didn't disappoint. We wanted friendly staff, a clean room and a location near the river. All the above were spot on. The river, with a... More

Just got back from a weekend at the Agora - as a frequent visitor to Paris I've stayed in several properties but this is by far the best. Staff were all, without exception, very welcoming, which makes all the difference! Location is perfect - a five minute walk to the banks of the Seine, ten minutes to St. Michel and... More

Clean and modern, room was much larger than the average Paris hotel room, affable staff and great rate. I would certainly stay here again.

The good: - location is wonderful, very convenient to the major attractions of Paris, a 10-minute walk from Notre Damme or the Pantheon, surrounded by hundreds of cafes, bars and restaurants. Nearest metro is 100 meters away, just around the corner. And several bus lines run on St Germain and Rue des Ecoles, around the corner. - Very clean. The... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
