Great place, good service, clean and comfortable. Very quiet, I could not hear my neighbors, except for sounds of their doors. A little bit expensive may be, though Paris is always expensive. The only thing I disliked was a difficulty to receive a booking confirmation. May be it was because of my bad English and no French at all. Overall,... More

Our stay at the Hotel des Grands Hommes was absolutely wonderful. It had been several years since I visited Paris, and I was cautiously trying to find a hotel with comfort and charm at a (relatively) reasonable rate. The room was a typical size for a European hotel, but the terrace overlooking the square below was a surprise. We enjoyed... More

We found the Grand Homme after research online. We loved the hotel! The room was very charming and very clean. The staff was very helpful, prompt and courteous. The price was very reasonable. We would definitely stay there again.

I've stayed in several 3-star hotels on the left bank, and Hotel des Grandes Hommes was the best. My room was small, as is usual, especially for a single, but perfectly adequate. The bath, in particular, was bigger and more comfortable than in other hotels in this price range. The linens were actually changed every day, and everything else was... More

Our first visit to Paris. I had googled lots of 3 and 4 star hotels - knew we wanted to be on the Left Bank and found this place. Checked it out through Trip Advisor and it had good to great reviews across the board - price was reasonable and we could get a double room with a view of... More

Romantic getaway for me and my girlfriend. Stayed four nights at the hotel, booked through the hotels own website after reading the reviews on tripadvisor - saved around 100 Euros compared to the cheepest booking agent (hotels.com). How was the hotel: Great loction located 50 meters from the Pantheon in the Latin quarters. We came from Orly, and the railroadstop... More

We spent four nights at the charming Hotel des Grands Hommes. The room was immmaculately clean and beautifully decorated, with a very comfortable bed and fluffy pillows. The staff was first-rate and always helpful with directions and assistance making dinner reservations. We booked early and prepaid the first night, so it was an excellent value. Its a terrific neighborhood, close... More

From the second we entered the Hotel we were thrilled with our choice. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The room, which was characteristically small, was superb in every detail. We spent the first 15 minutes taking photos of the room and the incredible view of the Pantheon. We then sat with smug smiles on our faces feeling like... More

I was in room 50 for a few days: though the room itself was not exactly ample (but in Paris you can easily find smaller rooms in the same category), is was quite comfortable, and the view was just great.

Stayed in this lovely hotel for three nights, got a great deal on the hotels own website .. by booking online in June and paying up front we paid €400 for three nights, double room with ensuite. Although we did not have a balcony or view of the Pantheon we did have a nice sized room (maybe small by American... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
