Nestled close to the iconic Eiffel Tower, the Canopy By Hilton Paris Trocadero has won the hearts of many guests with its prime location and modern atmosphere. While service is generally commended for its amiability and professionalism, there have been mentions of occasional lapses. Guests have lauded the array of amenities, including the convenience of local dining options and the breakfast spread, though some have hoped for more in terms of room upgrades and breakfast variety. Room opinions are divided; they are often described as comfortable, yet some guests have raised concerns about their cleanliness and the simplistic decor. The hotel's value proposition has come under scrutiny, with some visitors questioning the balance between cost and luxury.

Our family had the opportunity to stay at the Canopy Trocadero during a recent trip to Paris.

Location: With this being our first trip internationally with kids, we were looking for wow effect and the Canopy delivers it in spades. As you reach the street it is located on, you are greeted by a very visible Eiffel Tower. Our daughter was floored by just how close the hotel was to it. The location is located about a mile northwest of the Eiffel Tower across the Seine (maybe a 20 minute walk). While the hotel resides away from the some of Paris’ major attractions like the Louvre, Invalides, and Champs Elysees, it is a 5 minute walk to a metro station that can you you there quickly.

Food: We did not try the rooftop restaurant, but did enjoy the daily continental breakfast. The pastries were a hit as were the Damman Freres teas.

Service: This is where the hotel excels. We’re not an overly taxing family with respect to hotel requests, however, each time we had a question (e.g. directions to a grocery store, setting up a taxi for our departure), the hotel’s staff went over and beyond the call of duty. A specific example was the night before we left, as I asked about said taxi, one of the employees at the desk (Jose Luis) noted that our family would be departing before breakfast. He offered to provide us with a couple of pastries to ensure that we had a snack for our flight. My wife and I were highly appreciative of the gesture and experienced a similar commitment to customer service from the entire team from front desk to housekeeping.

When we return, the Canopy will be the property we stay at.

We loved:
* Walking distance to both Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe
* Nice eateries for breakfast or dinner at nearby Place Victor Hugo and Place Trocadero
* Close to Métro line 9
* Hilton quality rooms and service standards
* Value for money

One curiosity: water is not provided in plastic bottles (bravo!) so instead they provide you with a glass bottle you can fill up at will at the drinking fountain in the lobby.
But after doing the water run with both bottle and kettle in hand once or twice we decided just to use tap water.

Would definitely stay again.

We enjoyed a wonderful 3 night stay at the Canopy Trocadéro. The hotel is new so everything was well appointed and clean. The room was a good size for Paris and sufficient for our family of 3. The rooftop terrace and bar has stunning views of the Eiffel Tower and a great drinks and snacks menu. Breakfast every day was fresh and all the ingredients are very high quality. The food service was limited because of COVID but not in a way that effected us too much.

The staff at this hotel is absolutely incredible and what made our stay truly memorable. They treated our daughter like “the hotel mascot” to quote our breakfast server. She loved seeing them every day and they really made us feel at home. We had an issue with the hot water in the first room we were given and they resolved it right away. They even allowed us to check in early which was a godsend after our red-eye flight with an infant (the baby’s crib was already set up in the room so she could nap)! I would absolutely stay here again and hope to at some point in the future!

Thank you so much for making our stay wonderful,
Maman de Colette

Pros:
Good Location
Clean Rooms
Trendy Decor
Great Breakfast

Cons:
Did not receive typical service of a Hilton Brand
Had a safety issue with the door to my room not locking (it was at night and no maintenance was staffed to fix the problem). Although I was offered a new room the staff brushed off the issue saying that it was not a big deal "small technical issue" is what the manager used to describe it, although I told her it wasn't a small issue to me (safety and security issue).
I was credited 15 EUR (even though she told me that she'd remove the remaining charges from my bill which were actually approx 60 EUR, i was charged $50 to my credit card).
When my room was moved, I had previously had a view of the Eiffel Tour, the desk agent argued with me that I did not have a view to the point that I had to show him a picture from my window. I was then told that the room I had was the only one in that category that had a view. I'm sorry, but that is not my problem when the issue is on Hilton. I was moved to a room with no view and very loud banging/construction below me all morning. Thankfully I was checking out the next day. What I was told by the staff was that if I visited again in the future "maybe" they could offer me an upgrade, I'm sorry but after the poor issue resolution more so from the manager just casually brushing off the situation I won't be back. This is not an inexpensive Hilton property and I expected better issue resolution from the staff. I would not have written this review, except when I took the Hilton survey they hotel manager responded further reiterating that they handled the situation appropriately and even credited me 15 EUR, which was a complete disregard of the feedback I had provided.

Overall, I feel that there are better hotels in Paris in this price range and after the issues I experienced I do not recommend this property.

Dear NorthStar61227564701, First of all, thank you for choosing to stay with us. I am the Front Office manager, we spoke about the locker issue during your check out. I sincerely apologize if you had the impression I was "brushing off" this issue, this was not in any way my intention. Housekeeping didn't report it during your stay, so I think it happened when you closed the door on your last evening. At the front office we were not able to fix this electronic issue at that time as it required the intervention of an engineer agent, therefore my colleague proposed you to move into another room as close as possible to your original room, as you were in a hurry. The room category you had booked was a standard room, which doesn't have a view of the Eiffel Tower. The actual room you were staying in, as explained by my colleague, is the only one facing the street, it doesn't have the view of the Eiffle Tower, unless you bend over the window, which is why it is not considered as a room with a view. When you asked my colleague about the view, he explained the situation and proposed to give you another room, in another floor, facing the street. He even proposed to keep another room for you to move later, but you refused because you were checking out the next morning. I regret that we were not able to meet your expectations this time and I really hope that you will be willing to give us another chance in the future. Sincerely,

This is a great hotel with a nice view of Eiffel Tower from rooftop and walking distance to the attractions. Stayed for 3 nights and daily breakfast is good and delicious, especially the Pancakes, Brioche and French Toast. Rooms are very spacious with WC separate from the toilet. The nearest metro is Trocadéro which does not have escalators or lifts. So I suggest taking Bolt/Freenow/Uber if you have luggages. Lots of climbing up and down stairs from the Gare du Nord Train station. No doubt service from the front desk, bellman, housekeeping, breakfast team are really great!

However, upon arrival, there was not much recognition of being a Hilton Diamond member. A Diamond member was put on 1st story without room upgrade, preference stated high floor but front desk says hotel was full. Received an email that my last night will be upgraded, but was not offered upon check-in. Have stayed at Canopy London City 2 nights before and was given complimentary house drinks, but this benefit was not extended to us in Canopy Paris. Bathroom slippers have to make physical request from the front desk directly, only 1 water dispenser available at ground floor for all guests, it shows how great this hotel advocates sustainability!

Unfortunately, on our last night, 1 of our room’s aircon grill just drop out of nowhere next to my mum while packing her bag. My mum went to the reception to feedback but no apologies made nor offer a room change. There was another aircon grill that made some noises that may drop at any point of time. The aircon grill is not made of light material and thank god it did not drop on her head directly, I cannot imagine the consequences. Honestly, I don’t care about the fancy benefit of being a Diamond member as long as safety comes first. But I am pretty disappointed with this particular incident because safety of your guests is compromised.

Nevertheless, I would still recommend this hotel if you ask me, because location is convenient to everywhere with great food around the area if you explore a little more. Thank you for the wonderful stay overall!

TLDR: Perfect boutique hotel in a great location in Paris. Breakfast is to die for, do not miss it!

Pros:
1. Location: it’s a 5-10 min walk to Eiffel Tower! And you can even see the tower from the hotel rooftop!
2. Design: the hotel has a great design. Reminds me of the design hotels of Marriott. From the lobby, on-site restaurant, to the room, you can tell they have very design details taken care of
3. Breakfast: we got free breakfast as a diamond member and it was not your typical hotel breakfast. It’s a full serviced breakfast with staff taking your order with a la cart menu, and they would also bring out specialties for you to try throughout the breakfast service. My favorite is the detox ginger shot and hot cheese and ham croissant. There is also a small buffet section you can get bread, pastries and scrambled eggs if you want. The breakfast is the highlight of my stay!
4. Gym: decent gym with free weights, treadmills, and a couple machines. Again the hotel is so new so the gym is spanking new too, you can get a good workout in here for sure.

Cons:
Not much really, but if I have to be super picky, here are two:
1. Room size: we got upgraded to premium king from regular king room and it still felt a bit small. But I guess that is the norm for Parisian hotels in the city center.
2. Fish and chips: we ordered fish and chips from the hotel restaurant. It was their take on fish and chips where you really got chips as Americans would say (or for British it crisps). And the fish is fried fish paste formed strip. It was good but probably the British will think it’s blasphemy.

This hotel is new and the rooms are big for Paris . It is located 3 minutes from the metro. There are many lovely restaurants within working distance. We had French, Italian, Chinese and African food in different days.

The breakfast is not like your typical English breakfast but was good enough. The breakfast Manager, Teema was excellent and is just the best when it comes to customer service. He made us feel really welcome unlike the front desk manager, Ester, who was quite nasty . She was very rude and when I told her I would put it on trip advisor, she told me to go ahead. I reported her to the General Manager but nothing was done. I decided to avoid her as the other guy at the front desk was very nice and always attended to any request my husband or myself had promptly.

I love the fact that the bathroom is separated from the toilet so 2 guests can use both at the same time.
In summary I would highly recommend this hotel.

They have lovely pillows and a very comfortable bed

We enjoyed this hotel for its modern/new feel and rooftop views of the Eiffel Tower. It was a very nice touch that our room had a champagne bottle and hand written note upon our arrival. We appreciate that! We traveled with the kids (family of 4) and it was my daughter's dream to say good-night to the Eiffel tower each night we were in Paris. This hotel offered us that opportunity. We loved the location as it had many cafes to walk to and felt very safe. There was a really nice super market close by that we enjoyed going to. We did really enjoy going to the Eiffel Tower at night time and enjoy all the activities there. We stayed in a suite on the 6th floor. The suite had a king bed and then a pull-out sofa for the kids. We were tight in the room with the luggage, 4 people and the pullout sofa. Breakfast each morning had a good selection of food items. The servers in the morning were all really nice. In the evening, the bar selection was ok to get a drink to head up to the rooftop bar to enjoy the views. We would have preferred a bar at the rooftop. I do not give it a 5 star review as we did not like that the toilet was in a separate room from the bathroom that had the sinks and shower. The toilet was leaking water when flushed as well as the shower door did not close properly so water got to the bathroom floor. We had to use many towels to keep it dry. Housekeeping was not that great either. Not much attention to detail. They threw our personal blankets on the floor after they made the bed and just did not clean the room properly. We missed the elegant traditional Parisian architecture that other hotels offer and a bit more of a Parisian touch to the hotel. Overall a good stay that offered my daughter the opportunity to see the Eiffel Tower every night of our stay.

I cannot say enough positive things about this hotel.

The staff is welcoming and amazing. The rooms are comfortable and brand new. The hotel’s location is a short, 3-minute walk to a dozen restaurants and eateries. It’s a beautiful 20-minute walk to Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Élysées. And the proximity to and views of the Eiffel Tower (from the hotel entrance and rooftop) are the icing on the cake.

Also, during a recent stay with my husband and young son, I had an unfortunate health issue. The entire hotel staff made a really difficult situation more manageable. Their friendly notes and words of encouragement gave me strength, and I’m just very thankful for everything they did and said to make me feel at home.

Unfortunately, not many nice comments about this particular Hilton property, which is a disappointment given my HH status.

Pros:
Located near the metro, however, beware that there are no lifts/escalators in metro stations so traveling with luggage/bags/baby strollers etc is a nightmare. Avoid if possible!

Nice view of the Eiffel tower from street, easy walk for nice pictures and quiet block.

Cons:
For the rates charged, I expected much better service. No acknowledgment or thank you for HH status. Which is fine, but a simple acknowledgment is a nice touch.

No water provided in the room except for a glass bottle that can only be filled on the main floor. Rather inconvenient.

Housekeeping is possibly the worst I have ever encountered in my travels, and I’ve stayed at some pretty questionable places. I needed to ask for towels three times. I always bring personal washcloths with me, yet those were taken by housekeeping and never returned. I needed to ask the staff to PLEASE sweep and mop the floors as well as vacuum the rug and my request was never fulfilled. Robes (no slippers) are provided and when the robes are taken, they are not replaced. In addition, the toilet tissue rolls were never replenished so another request I had to make. All in all it was more exhausting asking for all these essentials then necessary. No one seems to be bothered either way at offering assistance and it the service feels cold and unwelcoming. Of all the places to stay in Paris, I would absolutely stay elsewhere and not recommend.
