This small hotel has style, a considerate staff and a great location. The lobby is surprisingly warm and comfortable and the rooms have a rather dramatic style. There are only two flaws in this gem. The room smelled musty and the breakfast was paltry but expensive which was a pity.

Dear jduzinkiewicz, Thank you for taking the time to share your impressions. We are very happy that you were generally pleased with your stay in the hotel, and especially its decorative style. Nevertheless, we are sorry to hear that you found a musty smell in the room, as we make sure to regularly air out all of the rooms. However,... More

The world's tiniest elevators must be at the Hotel Britannique! But they make a fun story and maybe a photo op. Hotel was good value, air conditioning worked beautifully during scorching hot weather. Shampoos and toiletries were not fancy, but functional. Front desk staff was super helpful and friendly. Great breakfast included.

Location, location, location! We took the RER from CDG and exited at Notre Dame-St. Michel station. Our first sight coming up the stairs was the Notre Dame! It was an easy 10 minute stroll across Ile de Cite to the hotel. It's very close to Chatelet Metro, as well. The hotel itself is an older building with the typical tiny... More

Ok first things, first. I see a hotel room as a base-station when travelling, not nescessarily a destination, so comfort and location are everything but room size isn't. Also, I learn to say a few words in my destinations language like hello, goodbye, thank you, please, and excuse me. This does more than make it easier for me, I feel... More

Hotel Britannique was a great boutique hotel for myself and friends that traveled to Paris. Upon our arrival, the very friendly and professional concierge were efficently prepared to check in a group of 12. They were also very helpful with recommendations and sold museum passes, which I highly recommend purchasing. The Britannique lobby was very charming and the rooms were... More

Stayed three nights at Hotel Britanique in room 33 and 34. This was to room that we could connect when we closed (and looked) another door. This was connived, because we traveled together with a teenage girl that wanted some privacy. Hotel Britanique is a lovely Boutique hotel with excellent location. Very close to Rue Rivoli with shopping and walking... More

This hotel was a real find. We wanted a hotel near the Seine in or close to the Châtelet area with its many bars and restaurants and close to The Louvre and many other Paris landmarks. The Hotel Britannique met this requirement. It is housed in a traditional 19th century building that has been beautifully maintained, There is a (smallish)... More

My family had two rooms next to each other for three days in this hotel. We ate breakfast there each day and there was enough variety to keep it interesting. The Hotel Britannique, located in central Paris on Avenue Victoria near the Chatelet Metro station, is a six storey, boutique hotel. It is beautifully decorated in classic style. The quietest rooms face away from the street, but even those facing Avenue Victoria are well sound proofed with double glazing and integrated shutters. Rooms vary in size, but the room I... More

Staying in Les Halles

Neighborhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
