As lovely and quaint as Hotel Brittainique is, I think I'll opt for a larger hotel next time. The room was barely larger than the bed. Very clostrophobic. No drawers at all. Front desk was friendly but limited in ability to help.

A beautiful little hotel with charm and grace a lovely staff and a location to die for. It is Its close to the river to a major Metro stop ,to Notre Dame and to delightful little neighborhood cafes. The club room in th ephotos is exactly as promised. Really, quite wonderful

Whether seeing Paris by foot, Metro, Velib (bike sharing), taxi, or train, you simply can not beat this location. The hotel itself is small enough to feel intimate and is on a small and quiet street - one feels instantly at home! The immediate neighbourhood has terrific bistros, bakeries and shops which obviously cater to the locals but are friendly... More

The hotel is within walking distance of Notre Dame and the Louvre. The staff, especially Celeste, provides excellent service with GREAT suggestions for dinner. Her support, directions and suggestions made our stay wonderful.

I booked this hotel as we stayed here over 30 years ago and we wanted to return for an anniversary and special birthday. The location is excellent if you are a tourist visiting Paris, the Metro is extremely close with easy access from Gare du Nord and a very short walk to the Seine. The hotel staff were all warm... As before the hotel and its staff were excellent. Last year we had a superior room and this time standard rooms. The room was on the 4th floor at the front of the hotel overlooking the street but still very quiet. As temperatures were in the upper 30s the air conditioning was very welcome! Although a bit smaller than our... More

We found the staff extremely patient and helpful! The elevator, though small, did the trick! We had quiet, quaintly decorated rooms and nice bathrooms with robes. Noticed that my full-size mattress was uneven - so it's probably time to change the mattress. But pillows were great! I wasn't that impressed with the expensive breakfast. Go to the bakery around the... More

The lift was tiny and the room was small but good. Otherwise it was a lovely stay. The hotel was very well located for walking, and the area had good restaurants close by. The history of the hotel and its links to the Quakers are fascinating.

This small hotel has style, a considerate staff and a great location. The lobby is surprisingly warm and comfortable and the rooms have a rather dramatic style. There are only two flaws in this gem. The room smelled musty and the breakfast was paltry but expensive which was a pity.

The world's tiniest elevators must be at the Hotel Britannique! But they make a fun story and maybe a photo op. Hotel was good value, air conditioning worked beautifully during scorching hot weather. Shampoos and toiletries were not fancy, but functional. Front desk staff was super helpful and friendly. Great breakfast included.

Staying in Les Halles

Neighborhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
