Ever since it first opened its doors in 1911, the Terrass" Hôtel has been one of Montmartre's best kept secrets, just a stone's throw from the Sacré Coeur Basilica... The Terrass" Hotel's airy location on top of Montmartre allows most of its rooms to offer breathtaking views over Paris. Redesigned as artists' dressing rooms, their décor is classic with a contemporary twist, with studio lamps, directors' chairs and tiles that are reminiscent of the Paris métro in bathrooms hidden behind frosted glass walls.

What a view!! United Airlines recommended this hotel when we bought our airfare. So glad we followed their recommendation. This small hotel is located towards the bottom of Montmartre, a fun neighborhood with lots to see & eat!
We paid for what is called an "artist's studio" room which comes with a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower (we were on the 5th floor). The hotel is on the smaller side & is sooo comfortable. We got there on Easter Sunday, too early to check in so the front desk stored our luggage & we camped out in the nice sitting area they have off the reception area. We availed ourselves of the filtered water dispenser in the same area, as well as the coffee & tea. Once we were able to get into our room, we settled into a very comfy setting. The view of the Tower is incredible to wake up to! The room is a nice size & the large bed (2 twins pushed together) was comfortable. The bathroom/shower area is a nice size & amazingly has enough counter space, a welcome surprise. There is a nice tub but we didn't use it, preferring the shower which was also a nice size. There are plush bathrobes to use & the liquid hand soap smells divine!
We paid for the buffet breakfast which did not disappoint. There was smoked salmon, a few types of hams, hard-boiled eggs, cheeses, yummy yogurts, a nice selection of different breads, including delicious croissant type roles with raisins or chocolate, fresh fruit salad, marmalades, bacon, sausage & some very tasty scrambled eggs, plus teas, coffee and hot chocolate. On top of the great food, there is an even more amazing view of the Eiffel Tower from the restaurant. Getting a table by the window is always a good idea! Unfortunately, we never had lunch or dinner since we were always out & about, but I'm sure it is very good! The bar is very nice, next to the restaurant with an equally amazing view, & has a retractable roof. We had after dinner drinks there when getting back from walking for miles.
The neighborhood is a gem, offering lots of places to eat. I wish I would have been able to buy something from the bakeries nearby but one can only eat so much! Lots of nice stores & boutiques to shop (or window shop). There is a tiny creperie a half block around from the hotel where we had delicious sweet crepes made to order by a very nice guy. Can you tell I already miss the neighborhood?
Some people prefer being closer to the Champs Elysees or in other neighborhoods, but we will be back for sure for another stay @ Terrass, if we can save up enough:)
Last, but not least, the hotel's personnel were nothing but fabulous. Saufian, Alex, Paul, Sebastien (all in reception), plus Christine & her other colleague (whose name I never asked, ugh!) who work as hosts in the restaurant, are true professionals & we loved our interaction with all of them.
If you're going to Paris & can afford a nice hotel, book your room @ Terrass & thank me for it later:)

We arrived at this hotel for a four day break from the UK and we were not disappointed. The location is perfectly situated within a very short walking distance of some excellent restaurants. When we arrived we were shown to our room by Johan who is a complete gentleman, the room itself had a view of the Eiffel tower and overlooked the main street below. It was also situated next to the lift however I have to say we were not disturbed by the traffic nor the lift and the other residents. There are many amenities which we did not fully explore over our short stay however spoke with other guests who were full of praise with positive experiences. We were keen to visit the rooftop cocktail bar which had beautiful views over the city of Paris with a really relaxed atmosphere, by the way the cocktails were really good and not overpriced.
The staff at this hotel are exemplary, I have to say that all of the staff were extremely accommodating and helpful, in particular Johan and David (front desk) were outstanding ambassadors for this hotel and real gentleman who were always on hand to offer guidance and support.
Simply put this hotel is in a perfect location for all local amenities and is a short stroll to the stairs or lift to take you to Place du Tertre which is a beautiful area elevated above Abbesses. There are numerous restaurants and cafes and which overlook the main square where local artists carry out their crafts for tourists.
There are also several Metro stations with close proximity to the hotel, the Metro is a fantastic low cost mode of transport to get around Paris and the major attractions.
Great location, Great value and most importantly outstanding staff Thank You for a Great stay!!

This was by far our favorite and best hotel stay during our trip to France. In fact, this was the most grand hotel room we have ever experienced anywhere. Upon arrival we were warmly received. We were lucky enough to have the most gorgeous room on the 8th floor with stunning views of the Eiffel Tower and got to experience the splendor of it sparkling at night. The room had two separate vanities, 2 luxurious soft bathrobes and even a bathtub. It was equipped with a coffee maker and tea kettle. The shower was equipped with a one way window which allowed us to shower while looking at the Eiffel Tower! We chose to stay in the room more than we anticipated so that we could open the windows and gaze at the view of Paris. It was like living in a dream. Perhaps one of my favorite touches was the room’s stereo which we paired our devices to in order to play music to while in the room. We also loved having access to water tea and coffee at all hours in the beautiful and clean lobby. We had planned to enjoy the rooftop bar, but found the view from our room to be so spectacular we didn’t want to leave. (Our room was on the 8th floor and the bar/restaurant on the 7th.) The concierges provided excellent service which was unmatched by any other hotel. An experience we will never forget!

We had a very good 2 night stay at Terrass'' Hotel. The hotel had everything you would expect from a 4 star hotel, but it was the service which made it extra special.
We arrived at about 2pm with our suitcases. Immediately the young gentleman and the young lady at the reception rushed to help us with our luggage and carried them over the 2-3 steps to the reception. The room was not quite ready yet, so the young lady (Hannah, the main receptionist) made us coffees in the common area.
The room was ready after about 15 minutes, and Hannah and her colleague offered to help us with our luggage to our room as there would be 2 - 3 steps in the corridor. We thanked and said we would be fine with 2 - 3 steps.
The room was big for Paris and well equipped: The standard facilities you would expect from a 4 star hotel. The windows were triple glazed and kept any noise from the outside well out. The great feature of our room (407) was the view of the Eiffel tower and the cemetery of Montmartre from the window.
The area is full of restaurants so we had breakfast, lunch and dinner in one of them during our stay. Therefore we cannot comment on the quality of the breakfast or dinner in their restaurant.
The only concern we had was with their billing system. We had prepaid our stay, but I received an email in French saying that my card had been declined. But the charge had cleared my credit card. However, the issue had been resolved by the time we came to check in.
Overall we had a great stay and we would happily stay there again,

The service was excellent even before arrival - communication via email was quick and professional. Pick-up from the airport, special requests, welcome arrangements all went smoothly.
Very helpful and friendly staff on site - we were actually too early for check-in and had planned to leave our suitcases in the hotel and explore the area first. The room was already ready, however, and so we were able to put our things away properly straight away.
The room on the 6th floor with a view of the Eiffel Tower is certainly not a bargain in terms of price, but it has a great view, lots of space, and modern furnishings and equipment that leave nothing to be desired. The balcony is just wide enough for two chairs and a bistro table - but it's wonderful for a coffee in the afternoon sun.
Everything works and is clean. If you sleep with the window open, you can hear the street and the people - but that's normal for Montmartre.
The breakfast offers a good selection and here too you can enjoy a great view of the city. You can explore Montmartre on foot and you can get to the center quickly and easily by bus and metro.
We were completely satisfied and can recommend the Terrass'' Hotel without reservation.

Brilliant hotel on the edge of Montmatre district and within walking distance of many bars, restaurants, shops, metro etc. The service from staff in the hotel is excellent - they really cannot do enough to ensure everything is catered for, and all queries about Paris and where to go/what to do were met with extensive and extremely helpful suggestions. The rooms are very new and modern (we had three different types of rooms and they were all gorgeous) with fabulous bathrooms. One of our rooms had a glorious view of the Eiffel Tower and the beautiful roof terrace bar and restaurant on the 7th floor has a magnificent view of the city. Free tea, coffee and water in the foyer and a really good breakfast for 25 Euros in the restaurant. On comparing prices for other hotels in the area (some of which I have previously stayed in) the Terrass really does offer excellent value for an excllent stay. Will definitely return on the next trip to lovely Paris.

Terrass was absolutely outstanding in every way. The service was extraordinary. The front desk, room service, spa, bar, and restaurant were all at the top of their game. The location is great, close to restaurants, shops, and transit. Close to the Moulin Rouge. Montmartre is very hilly but the area immediately surrounding Terrass was mostly comfortable slopes. Very walkable, even for my mother who has had both hips replaced. The room was so luxurious. We sprung for the Eiffel Tower view and I can’t recommend it enough. It was so wonderful. You could do without it, with the view from the roof, but it was really special to have it all the time. It had slippers, fresh bath robes, and eco-friendly toiletries, a great big shower and bath, and huge windows that open wide to look over the Eiffel Tower. The view from the rooftop bar should not be missed. The cocktails were delicious, and my mom enjoyed the mocktails as well. The restaurant was also very tasty, and they were able to get us in for a table at very short notice which was lovely. Terrass really can’t be beat. I have already recommended this hotel to friends, and if I’m back in Paris, I’ll be sure to stay here again.

We had not been to this hotel for many years and so were not sure what to expect, would our visit be as fabulous as our previous visit? We should not have worried our whole experience was fantastic from start to finish! The common areas are modern nicely styled, the rooms have all you need and the beds are very comfortable. The restaurant on the rooftop has the most incredible views definitely go there in the evening and see the Eiffel Tower sparkle! This is where breakfast is served so you can gaze out over the city as you eat. Breakfast is excellent. There is also complimentary water and coffee all day in reception. The position of the hotel could not be better. It is a short stroll to Abbesses metro stop and it such a lovely walk past fabulous shops and restaurants. It feels very Parisian! There are plenty of restaurants to eat at, speak to the reception staff for recommendations. They booked several restaurants for us during our stay and we had excellent affordable food in places we would not have normally discovered. I cannot praise the staff enough, they make this hotel! Everybody is friendly and professional and cannot do enough to make your stay enjoyable. The staff in the restaurant in the evening and at breakfast were great and the reception staff were fantastic. They researched activities for us and then followed up to check how we got on too. They arranged birthday treats to be left in my daughter's room and remembered to personally wish her a happy birthday on the day too. I did not get all names of the staff in reception, they were all great, but I did spend time talking to Line who was incredible at what she does. She gave us so much information and even when she saw us in the street outside of working hours she stopped and asked us how our day had been and what we had seen, even showing us other places on her phone. She did not have to stop or take time to do that but she did and she is a absolute credit to the hotel. I do not have anything negative to say about our stay, we had a wonderful time. I have travelled to Paris many times for business and pleasure and the staff at this hotel are definitely some of the best. If you choose Montmarte you should choose this hotel. Looking forward to another visit soon...

Good hotel, well located. The rooms are pretty cool in terms of how they’re decorated with a good standard of toiletries and linens.
Sadly the first room we had smelled badly of sewage so we had to move rooms - hence the mark down.
The staff were generally very friendly and helpful and the rooftop bar is worth a drink even though somewhat overpriced.
The classic rooms are very small (fairly standard for Paris) but the superior rooms are better. Be mindful as rooms over the road can get noisy with the traffic.
Walking distance from montmartre and loads of bars and restaurants nearby.

We recently had an amazing stay at this hotel. The view is just amazing, we stayed in the Exclusive Eiffel suite and had a view of the Eiffel Tower and the rest of Paris. It was just a short walk from two metro stations and easy to get to. The staff are so friendly and approachable and were also able to speak English. The decor of the rooms is modern and beautiful, and the bed was so comfortable. We went to the restaurant at the rooftop for breakfast on our final day and wished we had gone beforehand, the breakfast being all you can eat and had everything you could want with an amazing view. One thing to be aware of beforehand is that they charge you €200 on the first day incase you use any extras in the rooms, this is refunded at the end of your stay if you don't use anything.

I believe there is a small fitness room with a treadmill. I didn't go in it, so I can't attest as to equipment. They apparently have yoga classes too... If you can, I'd prefer running through the streets on Monmartre! much more to see, and some great hills to get your cardio up!
There are more places to choose from in the Paris area.
