I checked into the Hotel Apolonia on Apr 28th and it seemed fine to me. Small, clean room and bathroom. As I was leaving my room I noticed the door didn't lock. I told the front desk staff and was told it would be repaired. I then went about my day, as he suggested. When I returned in the later...

Great little hotel in the Latin Quarter, very clean, modern and with no shabbiness at all. Rooms were small, but that was expected. Nice bathroom and shower. Only negative was no soap or shampoo in shower, although there was a soap dispenser in at the sink.

The hotel is located right next to a metro station, which is great. However, the hotel is not clean. The carpet is dirty and the room has a strong bathroom smell. What's worse is that once I told the front desk that I wanted to switch to another hotel in two days because of the smell, the staff told me...

We absolutely love Mouffetard, the quaint little cobble stoned street filled with cafes, restaurants and shops. Qualys is in the heart of it a short stroll from Place Monge Metro. The hotel is perfectly comfortable with a good breakfast, rooms small except for the executive suits which we found perfect. Sadly they filled our pre booked executive room the first...

There was a major renovation going on during our stay; the excessive noise would start early in the morning and lasted for several days in a row. Nobody informed us in advance about the work in progress. I tried to talk to the staff in the reception twice. First, I talked to a lady who avoided answering any questions, and...

I was eager to leave for Paris. We booked a small hotel in a good neighborhood that I knew that was a bit noisy. But that wasn't the biggest surprise. I was really flabbergasted and stunned by the tiny and uncomfortable shower. You could hardly turn and it switched from hot to cold in a second. In the end it...

Our group of 5 stayed here 3 years ago and again in April 2017. While the location is perfect for exploring Sorbonne / Latin Quarter, the overall quality of the hotel has definitely decreased since our first visit. Staff seemed disinterested and were poorly trained. We were firstly placed in a double room when we had booked a twin -...

I had a wonderful stay here. My room was a bit small, but since I was by myself, I didn't care. The staff was excellent, very friendly and helpful. Everything was very clean and up to date. I plan to stay here again upon my next trip to Paris. The only thing is that it can be a little loud...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.

“I stayed in room 64 which is pretty small. The toilet room and shower room are at opposite corners of the room (which is again, small so not a huge deal, but somewhat awkward). Next time I'll try to get a room more towards the back where it is a bit quieter.”
