We stayed at this wonderful hotel during our Christmas holidays 2010 and loved the place. It is ideally situated close to the opera and the Galeries Lafayette and within walking distance of the Louvre. The staff were always helpful and friendly and full of good advice and ideas. Make sure you include breakfast as it is the best hotel breakfast...

This is a great hotel, the location is perfect. The rooms are a little on the small side but still very decent....the bathrooms are clean and spacious ... The staff was nice for the most part, there are a few snobby ladies at the reception every now and then. We had to carry our own luggage to our rooms, which...

I stayed at Hotel Scribe for 2 nights in June. It was an amazing and wonderful stay. The size of room was just right, nicely decored and comfortable. In Paris, a brand name guarantee nothing, I did have quite a lot of terrible experience at some of the Luxury Hotels. However, Hotel Scribe did reflect the Sofitel Standard- Clean &...

If you want to stay in the center of Paris within walking distance of the Opera, Rue de Rivoli, the Louvre and many other sites as well as being close to several Metros then this hotel is a great choice. My room was excellent. Spacious for a room in Paris, quiet and on a floor whose walls were lined with...

Classic hotel in a classic city. Check in was swift & she noted my birthday had been the day before so gave us 2 free drinks in the bar which was a nice touch on arrival! Room was nice, again a classic set up for a city centre hotel. I felt the room may have been a smoking room once...

This is a first class hotel in terms of the rooms, the staff, the location, and room service, albeit pricey. The rooms are sleek and modern, with excellent bathrooms. They come across as very modern rooms, a bit small, but first class in terms of feel. However, there is one real drawback if you are a business visitor or other...

This is truly a 5 star hotel even a bit snooty but well worth a stay. The location is close to all the major sights in Paris. We only had breakfast on the 3 days we stayed there but it was all you could desire. All the staff were very helpful and made you welcome. The rooms are very well...

Great location, stunning hotel with lovely warm welcoming staff on the front desk and I must mention the very charming guest relations manager too. This is a true five star hotel and we will certainly be staying here whenever we visit Paris in the future.

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
