A long tradition of excellence in the art of living awaits you in this grand 19th-century building. An emblem of Parisian life, Le Scribe was originally the home of the very aristocratic Jockey Club. It became a hotel of legend, a stage of modernity on which the cinema was born, a favourite place of artists and celebrities. The Scribe keeps that legacy alive today. In its elegant rooms and suites, its public and reception areas, new generations of personalities are even now adding chapters to the hotel's history.

I stayed at Sofitel Scribe in December 2019. The check-in experience was not really good: the lady at the front desk was polite but she did not smile at all. Come on, that's the most basic thing when you work at a hotel, be at a cheap two-star or an upmarket five-star in Paris. The room was sort of luxuriously furnished but was on the small side and the layout was not very practical. On the other hand breakfast was a really great experience. Breakfast staff was as perfect as you can expect at a high-end French restaurant and all breakfast items were of high quality. I think I'll try another hotel for my next stay in Paris.

Though the hotel is going through grand renovations, it is still a great place. The new rooms have a great design, very clean. Staff is very attentive. Of course, the breakfast area is small, due to renovations. Can’t wait to be finish. Location is great.

I visited Scribe Sofitel a few days before Christmas 2019 with my Mom. We were welcomed in a very familiar atmosphere, and asked kindly for a room with a view, not too high, not too low situated according my mother´s preference. The well-mannered sir at the reception offered us two rooms and even showed us both of them. We decided for the one directly looking at the busy street in front of the hotel. Our bed was separated immediately by a kind helper and we started to relax a bit before our big city view. After two full days and having dined at various very expensive restaurants (150 ++ Euro for both of us) and still feeling hungry, we went back to our hotel restaurant and were very kindly greeted by the chef of the restaurant, a young Parisien in his late 20s, very very well-mannered, creating a familiar atmosphere, welcoming and he did everything to make us satisfied (not hungry!) and happy that evening taking special care of us the entire evening. We were always treated in the utmost manners by each of the hotel´s staff, and really really appreciated the incredible preferable location of the hotel, as during our stay as public transportation went on a strike, so we had to walk through the city as much as our feet were capable of doing so! The buffet is really delicious, fresh fruits and even a few vegetable, I am a vegetarian and I have never felt that satisfied with the offer for breakfast at a hotel. I can highly recommend this amazing hotel, not just its location and the beautifully designed rooms with a fireplace, but also its fine staff that are always there for you, not because they feel obliged as their job but because they pursue it with a passion and love. Thank you Sofitel Scribe, especially recommending Antoine.

Our family spent Christmas and New Year at Le Scribe. We stayed in 6 rooms for almost 2 weeks. The Scribe has more than exceeded our expectations! It was a joy to arrange this complicated holiday with their reservations team months prior to our stay. They were very accommodating and went out of their way to cater to our requests. Farah, the reservations supervisor, was like a genie, who made every possible effort to grant our wishes. Check-in was a breeze. Benedicte, the assistant GM, made sure we are all sorted and she connected us with Concierge and F&B for all our dining requirements. We felt very pampered, to say the least. The bedrooms are fantastic! These newly-renovated rooms are spacious, impeccably decorated, modern but with that old world elegance. Lots of closet/drawer space. The big mirrors on top of the mantle doubled as the TV! Amazing! The beds were super comfortable. The temperature controls in the room were highly responsive. The bathrooms were very spacious, enormous, by Parisian standards. Separate shower and tub, and a separate toilet stall. The hotel has a modern ambiance but retains its old world elegance. Breakfast buffet was a delight. We loved the special seating they arranged for our entire stay. It was like being home, having breakfast at the family table. Arnaud, our waiter for most of our stay, always knew when we needed something. He magically appears with our favorite beverage, and always with a smile. We all missed him when he took his days off. The breakfast offerings were impressive-fruits, yogurts and parfaits stations, hot food, the most delicious croissants. It was always the perfect way to start our days. The bar with its staircase and library feel was a delight! Go have coffee or a drink in the second floor and watch the street below. The lava cake and the free range chicken in the room service menu were winners for all the kids and adults in the family. We must have ordered dozens of them during our stay. The staff. They are the superstars of the Scribe. Cleotilde and the rest of the Concierge staff were our life savers-from magically getting tickets that are practically sold-out, to finding dentists during New Year’s eve, they performed magic! The restaurant staff took very good care of us every time we dined at the hotel. The guest services and front desk personnel were super friendly. The valets and bellmen were always very helpful. 6 rooms, 16 people meant dozens of luggage. They perfectly executed luggage delivery without breaking a sweat and in record time! Housekeeping was efficient. Marie ensured that we liked the salon they let us use for our family Christmas gift exchange. They even put up a Christmas tree. That was sincerely going above and beyond and we really appreciated it. The Scribe is perfectly located, within short walking distance to the Galleries Lafayette, the Opera, Vendôme, the Madeline Church where we heard Sunday Christmas and New Year masses. Plenty of dining options around. Spending the holidays away from home is always a gamble. We hit the jackpot by staying at the Sofitel Scribe. It was a wonderful stay and a memorable holiday!
