The room was clean and tidy and the staff very friendly. I would recommend the Italian next door for dinner and the opportunity to watch the world go by. However, the reason for the low review was the quality of sleep which was very poor. The doors on the rooms are very heavy and bang extremely loudly whenever closed. There was also a spot light outside my window which made a constant buzzing noise.

Stayed here for a night in late June 2023 as part of a weekend trip to Paris to see Depeche Mode play at the Stade de France. Travelled from London on the Eurostar and it took about 25 minutes to get to the hotel from Gare du Nord (there are a couple of RER and Metro lines you can take). The hotel is located just off the Place d’Italie and we were checked in very quickly on arrival. We were also pleased to be told we were being upgraded to a larger room on the eighth floor. This was a slight larger room that included a range of complimentary soft drinks. The only slight downside was that the hotel only has one lift which is pretty slow, so it can take a while to get to higher floors. The room itself was not particularly large but had a contemporary design and modern bathroom. As we were in Paris to go to a concert and visit the sites we did not spend too much time in the room, but it was a comfortable place to stay. During our stay Paris was experiencing very warm weather, so we really appreciated the free water on offer in reception. The hotel is a typical mid-range city centre property with limited facilities. However its location close to a variety of restaurants, bars and other attractions means that it is not an issue. As a result we were on a room-only rate and made use of a great café a few doors down for breakfast. We also really enjoyed the local food market which appeared outside on the Sunday morning- it has some very impressive local produce on sale. There is also a decent sized shopping centre called Italie 2 located five minutes from the hotel with an good selection of retailers. We enjoyed our brief stay at the hotel and would recommend it as a great place to stay when visiting Paris for a short break. Whilst it is in the centre of the city the area is not too overwhelmed with tourists, so you feel you are getting the full Parisian experience.

My parents had stayed in this hotel and recommended it to us. It’s in one of my favorite neighborhoods in Paris. There are lots of great restaurant options nearby and the local produce market is held right out front three days a week. It’s very close to a large Metro station and easy to get to popular destinations in the center of Paris. Our room was on the back side of the hotel and very quiet. The staff was helpful and spoke English. I would stay here again.

We stayed there the last night we visited Paris, it was a good location to go around Paris. There is a close by metro station, Place d'Italie. Rooms were nice, clean, and compact. The shower was nice and clean. Looked really nice, even though it was compact. They do room service for breakfast and dinner. We ordered a room service as we were tired and wanted to eat quickly and sleep. We ordered 2 vegetables, green Thai curry and chicken in cocnut milk curry. The Thai curry could do with more seasoning. Don't get me wrong, it was tasty. There are a couple of places down the road to eat too. We went down for breakfast. They had varieties of bread , cold meats butter and cheese. Also had fruits, muesli, and dried fruits and nuts to add it to the top of the cereals. There were baguettes as well. Coffee machine gave nice fresh coffee. There were varieties of loose tea available as well. There was bacon and suasges mixed in pan, which was warm, and on another pan, there were scrambled eggs. It felt like the hotel was covered with some sheets where put on the floor, probably renovating. We checked out early and left our luggage there and came to pick up at 5pm they were kept just behind the desk. The staff are friendly and speak English too. Outside the hotel a few yards away, there is a local market setup that has vegetables and fish. Overall, we slept well and location is good.

The hotel is located just a minute walk to the metro and several restaurants and cafes so the location is excellent. Breakfast is amazing, don’t skip it! Our room was comfortable and clean but quite noisy on the street side of the first floor.

This hotel is quaint and quiet and yet in the heart of everything. The staff were super friendly, helpful, and resourceful. It is very close to the Metro, shopping, and restaurants of all kinds. The rooms were spacious and ours had a view of the Eiffel Tower.

This hotel was very good value for money. Close to metro stations, including line 5 which goes to Gare Du Nord for Eurostar. We had a triple room which had plenty of space. The beds were comfortable, linen crisp and clean and the room had a safe and a mini fridge. The receptionist was really friendly and helpful. Only negative was that our shower did not drain properly and would overflow on the floor after a couple of minutes.

I have stayed in Paris many times but this is the best hotel I’ve stayed in. Great hotel located in the very nice neighborhood with very polite staff and nice service. They were very helpful and arranged for us an affordable taxi and the whole experience was very enjoyable. The room is spacious for its price and Paris standards and has everything you need. Also, the breakfast was rich and included everything from various fruits, pastries and fresh juices. All in all it was an exceptional stay and I would recommend it to all my friends and also I hope to come visit the next time I’m in Paris.

Mercure hotels can sometimes be bland or mediocre but this one is excellent, thanks to the great team and hotel direction, answering to every preference or request. Nice clean rooms with fine bedding, and a welcoming breakfast downstairs or in your room, if you so wish. Located in front of the Butte aux Cailles, this is a very special side of Paris, almost like a little Provence village. Don’t forget to eat at the original Chez Gladines, only a few feet away. Or venture into the Parisian Chinatown and eat at impeccable duck at Imperial Choisy. You’ll be happy to return to Mercure Place d’Italie.
