Hotel is reasonably modern with comfortable rooms and a nice buffet breakfast area which includes an outdoor patio. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The room and bath were not large by US standards but seemingly larger than typical European hotels. Breaskfast buffet was ample, varied, and good. 5 minute walk to the Metro and not much further to surrounding restaurants. If I were to return to Paris I would consider using this same hotel.

If I could give a zero or a negative rating I will because of the worst experience I ever had with this hotel. My husband and I checked in this hotel around 1800 hour after our flight from Dubai and went out for dinner. At 2200 when we came back to our room, I found my Louis Vuitton scarf missing and the Louis Vuitton belt of my husband was missing. We informed the front reception and asked where the police station was, he forbade us from going to police. We talked to manager, no action done. Until we checked out after 3 days, no feedback whatsoever. The room was hot, no air conditioning, weak WiFi, no cleaning done ever, carpet smelled mildewy, room space so sparse you can hardly move around as a couple. This hotel doesn’t even deserve a 2 star rating. Such a rip off. Don’t bother coming here.

Easy to find, helpful staff, convenient affordable breakfast buffet, lovely neighborhood close to Avenue des Gobelins. Had open street market with lots of interesting stalls on Boulevard Auguste Blanqui on Friday and Sunday. Our room had view of Eiffel Tower. Around corner to restaurants, and lovely boulangerie (closed on Sundays). Multiple Metro station access excellent: stroll down Avenue des Gobelins to another metro stop. Is about 30 minute ride on Metro to Musee de Louvre. Felt like we got to see tourist sights and enjoy a neighborhood.

Stayed for four nights. It was updated, clean and comfortable. Closets have safes. Televisions are small in the standard rooms. The staff is pleasant and there’s usually someone around who speaks English. Housekeeping was fine. No problems. There is no on-site restaurant or bar, but there is breakfast included (in the breakfast room). The best guest rooms are probably on the front corner—the rooms numbered x05. They have a view (distant Eiffel Tower view) and more amenities. We had two rooms. One was a top floor “privileged” room. It had more inclusions like robes and slippers, a sitting area and a nice private balcony with seating. The other was basic and slightly crowded with a desk, chair, two benches, etc. Just a lot of stuff. Note that the standard room with two twin beds is tight. The twins are pushed together and there isn’t room to separate them even if you wanted to. The bathrooms were nice with tub and shower, shampoo, body wash, etc. This hotel is close to a lot of restaurants and shopping, including the Place D’Italie shopping center with the usual stores. Many of the guests were French tourists. It’s worth pointing out that there are two Mercure hotels within two blocks of each other. They are both close to Place D’Italie. This one is on Rosalie near Gobelins. The other is two blocks away on a boulevard and I’m not sure it was quite as nice. Be sure you know which one you’re staying at. One of our taxi drivers was even confused.
