It is in a great location and is In walking distance to many of the must see things when visiting Paris. We have visited Paris many times and this hotel is by far the best and we will be staying there again next year.

Listen, I dont really do this but I made an account for tripadvisor just to warn others. I've booked this hotel because I read so many good reviews and I really looked forward to it. To be honest, at the arrival everything was okay and nothing seemed suspicious or not okay. Some basic facts: I booked a superior room for two between the 29.5 and 2.6. Firstly, you have to know there is no minibar, you dont get slippers or bathrobes (you have to ask for them) and there was one little water bottle for two persons after a long flight and with 30 degrees outside. Which is alright, I mean its a small hotel, everybody makes mistakes and I didnt want to go to the chain-hotels. Our stay was good really, UNTIL checkout day. Check out time is at noon, so we came there to settle the payment and whatever had to be done. We were told we could have a transfer and could just ask for it if we needed it. When we did, the receptionist told us the transfer is booked full (to Orly airport) and he could only give us one at 17:30 (our flight was at 20:45 and we were already checked in) which we of course then didnt want. When he gave me the invoice (ca. 940 Euro) I said I wanted to pay cash, which he was okay with. When I gave him a big bank note the first thing he said was "You have to know we have big problem with these bank notes". I responded "I know." I mean, what else should I do? Not pay? Fine by me. He took the bank notes from me, stared at them as if he WANTED to see they were fake, looked at some notes on the table, looked at the bank notes again and again at the notes. This went on for 10 minutes. At some point he said: "Please sit down. I have to check with my manager." I have never encountered this behaviour ever before (I mean, 4 star hotel.. come on), so, a little bit perplexed I sat down. At this point, I genuinely felt like a criminal although I was certain I didnt do anything wrong. However I was treated like one. After 20 minutes of him clicking something, calling different managers and silently freaking out behind the desk, he asked me to the table again and told me he wanted to make a copy of my passport. I asked whether there was a problem, to which he responded pertly "I told you what the problem was." I couldnt stop myself from answering "This is normal european money, i dont see the problem." Which he just ignored. He took the copy and gave me my change back. NOW if you think this is it, just read on.. it gets better. Because we had an entire day in Paris before our flight, we gave our luggage for safekeeping. My friend gave her suitcase and I gave my leather jacket with my pollover on top of a rucksack with the suitcase. When we came back (a bit stressed because we though we would be late) we got our luggage back and left. Only after I realized I didnt get my leather jacket back. Now, this is not some small item easy to oversee, it's a black, heavy, genuine leather jacket. I immediately phoned the hotel and told them, to which they responded i should write an email (instead of just looking to their right and tell me whether they see a jacket or not) after many emails and me getting more and more nervous, I finally got the answer that my leather jacket was not there. You have to know, on this day it was 30 degrees in Paris, there was no way I was going to the town with a leather jacket. So basically, I have to assume someone took it from the SAFEKEEPNIG room. So to conclude, first I was treated like a criminal (in a four star hotel in the middle of europe) and after I didnt get my jacket (which I bought 3 years ago in New York.. so good luck finding it again), the only thing they had left for me was a "I'm sorry" email with very poor english wording. Will never go back, will never recommend.

Let me reaffirm that this case has been take extremely seriously with extensive investigation carried out. Please be informed that the safety of our customers and their personal belongings are priority to us. Following the loss of your jacket on Sunday, I answered to all your emails immediately, I phoned you, left you messages and you haven’t reply to me request to talk to you on dircet. On Sunday, a lot of bags and belongings were left in the luggage room under direct supervision of my most trusted receptionist. On that particular Sunday I was on site and I am absolutely certain that no suspicious activity happened and no items has been left in the hotel. I cannot tolerate the reliability of my team to be questioned especially when our process has been in place for many years now. Since you did not mentioned any missing item when you left the hotel, may be your jacket has not been left in the hotel (may be left on the way to airport). Furthermore, I understand your frustration about us checking the 500€ bank note. You must know that authorities recommend not to use it. The hotel is located in a nice area close to the main train station but in a clean safe area. the staff are very friendly they help us pick restaurants and book airport transfers. The breakfast is nice and fresh very France.

Tucked away in a quiet part of Paris, but close enough that everything is nearby. The service and staff here are great beyond words. We had an issue where my significant other forgot her passport in the lobby, but we didn’t realize it until we were at the airport. Upon going back to the hotel that night, they held the passport, offered us complimentary tea/coffee/water to help us feel comfortable, arranged for an airport shuttle the next morning, and when someone did not show for their reservation, allowed us to sleep in a room free of charge. They went above and beyond to take care of us, and I will absolutely be staying here the next time I am in Paris.

I found this hotel to be a charming, clean little oasis. The staff was helpful and spoke excellent English. Staying here enhanced my visit to Paris. I'd recommend Maison Malesherbes. It's not in the middle of the tourist district, so it felt like I got a taste of how real Parisians live.
