In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.

Room 25 had a smelly toilet, non-working Jacuzzi, and no screens for the open windows. There is no air conditioning throughout, so the windows and a borrowed fan were the only ventilation. Oh, and did I mention the bites on my wrists and hands after a three-day stay? Management s

When we fly all the way from Chicago to Paris, I want that "pinch me I am in Paris" charm, not a generic, Courtyard by Marriott kind of feeling. We always stay in the same left bank neighborhood. We are a couple in our 50s travelling for fun.

Hotel d'Angletterre has that old Pa

How can a hotel with no elevator and no air condition be rated fabulous?
Dear Madam, Thank you for your email. Regarding your question, it is not quite right, we have a hotel with 26 rooms and we do have an elevator. To be accurate, the elevator serves 18 rooms and 2 rooms are on the ground floor. Only 6 rooms are not served by an elevator knowing that 3 rooms out of 6 are on the 1st floor only. About the air conditioning, our hotel has an internal courtyard that diffuses natural ventilation but we also have fans available. Hoping that this description has been helpful, Regards, M Silva Manager

We will be travelling with our family - two young couples each with a baby about 12 months old, and a single friend. I have booked 4 rooms from July 11 - 1 junior suite for us, 1 comfort room for Leslie Demeyrick and 2 larger rooms for our two sons and their wives and babies. Could we please have quiet rooms (facings the courtyard?) and near the elevator. Also. Is it possible to gave two cots for the babies? Many thanks. Phillip schudmak.
I did not bring children when I stayed in Hotel d'Angleterre. Your requests are very specific so I suggest that you contact the hotel directly (see Hotel Website for email or phone number). Say something like this: "We have booked via xx site for these dates. We have children and we need.... Is this possible? Please confirm.
