This is the fourth time I've stayed at the Hotel Claude Bernard. A stones throw from the Notre Dame, the Latin Quarter and the Pantheon, Hotel Claude Bernard is excellently situated. The boutique hotel offers modest rooms at reasonable rates. Continental breakfast provided in the basement, and the staff were helpful in securing airport transportation. I've stayed here with my... Dear Customer, All the team of Claude Bernard Saint Germain, thank you for your loyalty and your comment. We are aware that your lift is small and the project of a new elevator is being studied. This historic hotel is wonderful, Clean and the staff were all friendly. The morning complimentary breakfast was simple but fresh with a Parisian flare. We have been here 2 times and will be back again soon

We (me, wife, two kids) stayed at this hotel for only one night while in Paris. It was the perfect location for a whirlwind tour of the city. If we had more time I would definitely stay in this part of the city again. The receptionist was wonderful, spoke English and was able to recommend restaurants and answered a few... More

Location was excellent. Receptionist always was ready to assist us. However, rooms were small we slept well. The street was not quite. Though the windows killed the sound. U should book rooms on the higher floor.

My wife and I stayed in a standard double room, and honestly I haven't stayed at any place bad - in terms of state of the walls, room etc. We only went their to crash - nothing else - really. The staff is good - they are helpful, the lift is pathetic.. It can't fit two people properly.

My room was quite small, with a window facing a wall at a short distance. The telephone in my colleague's room and the computer in the entrance hall were not working. A terribly loud alarm rang without any reason at 3 pm, waking me up suddenly while I was having a rest. The alarm kept ringing more than ten minutes.... More

The photos advertised by the hotel are much nicer online than in person. I was shocked when I arrived in the hotel and did double check to ensure the hotel was the same. The rooms are clean and ok, the staff is very nice, but the hotel is terrible especially the entrance and restaurant where they serve breakfast. Although I... More

I have stayed at this hotel four times over the last seven years, typically booking two rooms for me and my traveling companions. Make no mistake: the rooms are small, and some of them are terribly small (e.g., room 45). Two people with suitcases will find things tight. That being said, I am not in Paris to sit in a... More

Thanks to the very helpful and pleasant staff at HCB. The hotel is very clean and the service is fabulous. A great location right near the pantheon, close walk to Notre Dame and right near the restaurants and bustle of the Latin Quarter. Fabulous stay and highly recommend to anyone.

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
