We chose this hotel through their website, trusting the reviews and attracted by the location and what was on offer. We were positively impressed by the value for money and the friendliness of the staff, as well as the location, which was truly fantastic. We will definitely return to Hotel des Bains next time in Paris!
Although the hotel location is good, in terms of price/quality I would not recommend it. The rooms are very small for the price they charge and they are poorly heated, which is not a minor issue during the winter season
We were lookin for a good family size room and at Des Bains Hotel we found a good double room with one good size bathroom, really well located with a average price. We spent 9 days in Paris and really enjoyed our time there. The wi-fi quality wasn´t very good.
Very good location and relatively low price for the hotels in Paris. But the soudproofing was not so good. And it is relatively small, but that is normal in Paris. No bottled-water is provided in the hotel.
Hotel is placed in a very convenient location with a lot of places to go to, like cafes, restaurants, market places, parks. The staff is very nice and professional but the rooms/bathrooms are rather small.
We booked last-minute; our 4-person room was awesome. Plenty of space, large bathroom, comfortable beds. Great location - easy walk to stations on 3 different Metro lines. The best part was the helpfulness of the receptionist.
Great location, close to two metro lines (4 & 12), Edgar Quinet market around the corner on Wed and Sat, couple Patisseries, fresh fruit and grocery stories near by, next to a lane of creperies, bank, pharmacy, Pizza Delambre, other cafes, bars etc Hotel room itself was okay for two petite people. Bathroom and shower tight and worked for us. Shower did not drain quickly, fills up in 30 secs and starts draining out into the room, so only a quick rinse was possible. Tight elevator, will not take big baggage or more than 2-3 people without bags. Circular stairs, top floor tricky passage from elevator to room door. Staff walked for cleaning even when the door sign said do not enter. Hotel staff changed furniture on us without informing us when we were out! We had left our stuff spread out inside the room, had the do not enter sign on the door and yet walked in late evening to find headrest, side table, writing table etc replaced!…
We absolutely loved this unique hotel filled with art and charm! We chose this hotel because it reminded us they way Paris hotels used to feel before they modernized them all. The bathroom was very nice and the view was great out our balcony.
This hotel is the epitome of my notions of romantic Paris. We four stayed two nights in a first floor suite. The courtyard was irresistible with its window boxes and curving staircase. The location was right on the metro, which made our visit very convenient. Day two we walked to a patisserie for croissants, ate them at a little park, and then walked to the catacombs. (Skip the line there!) From there we easily took the metro to the Eiffel Tower and then hopped on the Big Bus! We used a taxi to CDG both ways. The hotel will call a taxi for you for a slight charge.
In April my wife and I stayed at the Hotel des Bains and really enjoyed ourselves. The hotel is excellent for visiting Paris and they do have a garage that you can use during your stay at the hotel. Our room is a suite with two rooms and is ideal for us. The hotels is very close to the metro and many excellent restaurants. The staff is also outstanding.
