This hotel is the epitome of my notions of romantic Paris. We four stayed two nights in a first floor suite. The courtyard was irresistible with its window boxes and curving staircase. The location was right on the metro, which made our visit very convenient. Day two we walked to a patisserie for croissants, ate them at a little park, and then walked to the catacombs. (Skip the line there!) From there we easily took the metro to the Eiffel Tower and then hopped on the Big Bus! We used a taxi to CDG both ways. The hotel will call a taxi for you for a slight charge.
In April my wife and I stayed at the Hotel des Bains and really enjoyed ourselves. The hotel is excellent for visiting Paris and they do have a garage that you can use during your stay at the hotel. Our room is a suite with two rooms and is ideal for us. The hotels is very close to the metro and many excellent restaurants. The staff is also outstanding.
The location is perfect, in a nice and rather street with typical French shops (butcher, traîteurs), some local pubs with terrace on the sidewalk. Very close to 2 metro stations and train station. Saturday French market, Sunday art market. We had a room on the 4th floor. It was clean, the bed (queen size) was good, but the size of the room very tiny, and the decorations somehow bizar. Friendly welcome!
We had a great room, two twin beds over looking an interior courtyard. The room was quiet and clean and amusingly decorated. The bathroom was awesome. This is not the Hilton, it means that sheets are a bit thin, towels are not huge, no room service, etc. but the room was clean and fresh and we got fresh towels and the beds made each day. We were on the 6th floor, and there is a lift. But be aware that you have to be able to climb a half story, as the lift accesses halfway between floors. The only downside was that at peak moments of use age the water pressure was a bit scarey, it would drop to a trickle and then start back up.The neighborhood felt very safe, full of cafes, creperies, and restaurants, and the hotel was a very short walk from several different underground stations. We loved it and would definitely stay here again! ESP as the rooms were 85€ per night.…
I'll start with the positive things because it's really short: 1. Great renovated shower. 2. Convenient location near several options of public transportation. Unfortunately it's surely not enough and from years of traveling and especially in Paris I know for certain that for the same money you could do much much better: 1. The service was horrible: the not so kind receptionist gave us a room that was tiny compare to others (small by not so tiny) with no closet, no space to put anything in the bathroom, a broken lock on the door and a safe that can't be closed either, hence we can't use it! only after a very assertive complaint he was willing to give us the room next door that surprisingly enough was already renovated and we can actually close it's door, put our clothes in the closet, use the safe and a have a little space in the room. 2. The Elevator is practically not useful: when we came the elevator didn't work at all and we have to carry our suitcases in a very narrow and twisted staircase. When the elevator did work it was of no use since it's not really gets to the level of the room. you have to take a few steps down and then some more steps up in order to get to it, so we didn't use it till the last day, then after a very long wait we could use this tiny elevator with our luggage after we carry it on the stairs.. 3. The worst was the deceive/negligence of the lady that was in the reception on our last day: she promised and we verify twice the price for a taxi to CDG airport and she seems very experienced and confident in herself. She indeed ordered the taxi or us but at the evening when we arrive to the airport the driver demanded 24% more and we didn't have a choice but pay him and hurry to our flight!…
We booked 2 months in advance. when we get to the hotel the elevator was broken. after climbing the stairs with the luggage we found out that we got an old room: the safe wasn't working, the closet was tiny and the door didn't lock up. after complaining at the desk they gave us another room at the same floor, a renovated room. we found out that some of the rooms are not renovated & they tried to forced us in one of them. The elevator is a joke, it's small and serve 5 floors. when it finally work, you find that it's not stopping at the level of the rooms, need to get down some stairs and walk up some stairs again in order to get your luggage to the room. the renovated shower was the only plus in this hotel. the day we left we found out that we can only live our luggage a non locked room without any markings from the hotel. We asked the woman at the desk if the hotel works with a driver to get to CDG. she told us that they have a driver for the price of 50 EUR, and we don't need to worry - she will order it for us. when we got to CDG it turned out that we got a regular Taxi and the driver demand us to pay 62 EUR. Never in my more than 30 years visiting Paris i came into a poor service like this! I don't recommend this property to anyone. stay away.…
Clean, quiet, accommodating, friendly and helpful is how we’d describe Hotel des Bains. Close to so many attractions and walking distance to beautiful French cafes. Reasonably priced and offers air conditioning!
We chose this hotel because we’d be able to walk to and from Gare Montparnasse - Bienvenue easily and because it had good reviews and a reasonable price. We were quite happy with our choice. The hotel is very old world - beautiful wooden-paneled lounge with red leather furniture, quality art displayed throughout the building, including an interesting Picasso-esque lamp in our bedroom, tiny elevator... Our room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom updated and nice. Our window was the French balcony style, looking out over the street below. The neighborhood was amazing! So many restaurants! We had a delicious dinner in a restaurant where the majority of customers were French people, not tourists. It felt like an authentic Parisian experience.
We loved this hotel on Rue Delambre. We stayed for 7 nights and were so happy. It was quiet, classy and has some beautiful furniture pieces in the rooms. The hotel living room is a beautiful place to relax, with great art and furniture. The street has a great selection of bakeries and other food shops. Right around the corner is a street full of creperies, including the fabulous Creperie Josselin. There is a metro on both ends of the street. We could walk to the Luxembourg Gardens for picnics in 10 minutes. I can't say enough about how enjoyable this hotel is, and a great value.
We stay 2 night for New Year’s ! Is a very nice, clean and tidy hotel. Very close to all the attractions in Paris so you don’t need a car to visit them. A lot of restaurants around. The only bad problem was that the site took us all the money for it when we book it and we pay again at the hotel when we arrived there, we get them back but after almost a mouth. But I will still go back there if I will visit Paris again, although I will reserve it strait to the hotel,no more websites.
