We stayed at Hotel Familia while in Paris. The staff were accommodating and friendly. We loved the old world charm of the hotel. Each room is equipped with the most charming balcony facing the street. The area is very quiet. The only critique was that the toilets need a little more power in the plumbing. Otherwise, highly satisfied with our... More

I needed a quick and inexpensive getaway for a week in Paris. I found it at the Hotel Familia. I just wanted to go for walks, sit by the Seine, drink wine and read, so the room size didn’t make that much difference to me. But the single room at the Familia was actually a reasonable size, compared to some... More

Went to Paris VI for a workshop and had a single room in this hotel. Location for my purpose was perfect (location is also great for sightseeing). Metro station, Carrefour and many small shops and restaurant are close by. Room was super-tiny but equipped with everything one needs: clean bathroom, air condition, safety box, etc. Price was good (for Paris).... More

This was a great hotel for those looking for smaller, more personal accommodation. The staff were very friendly and the room small but clean and comfortable. It was very quiet despite being in the heart of the restaurants and bars. The location was excellent and we were able to walk to tourist hot spots such as Notre Dame within 10... More

Stayed for 3 nights at the end of June (nice time of year to visit Paris) Hotel is good value for the price. We had a double room, which was WAS small, but adequate. Bathroom good sized, great shower. All very clean. We loved the quaint decor of the hotel. The best part - we paid a little extra for... More

I stayed at Familia Hotel for one night on the 11th August with my son, sister and nephew. We booked two double rooms and despite arriving early our rooms were ready for us. While the rooms were basic they were perfect for our needs and were clean and comfortable. We felt the price was excellent for the location. The continental... More

On the Left Bank, easy walking to Notre Dame and Louvre. Next to Boulevard St. Germaine, close to metro. Charming, clean. small hotel. We were fortunate to have a balcony and we ate there overlooking the street. On Bastille Day we were able to see the airplanes flying by in formation. When we return to Paris, I can see us... More

We stayed two weeks in this hotel with a one-night break in the middle. The service is outstanding with the staff efficient, helpful and friendly. On our one-night break in our stay they stored our bags for us and when we returned they'd put our bags in our room. The location is fabulous and the beds comfortable and rooms clean.... More

Locate on the Left Bank, above the Latin Quarter you could not find a better location if you want to be away from the constant flow of tourists but close to everything. Three metro stops within about five blocks and a nice walk to Notre Dame, Luxembourg gardens and the Pantheon. Easy walk from the RTR station where the airport... More

This hotel is charming, well run, clean and comfortable. Let's talk location: nothing nicer than strolling down Boulevard St. Germaine a street away as the city comes to new life each morning or winds down each night. Had two lovely triple rooms for family of six. Both opened onto the street, Rue des Ecoles. People on this complain about street... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
