This is one of my favorite hotels I have stayed in. The location is excellent - right in the heart of Le Marais and near to metro stations. The rooms are very charming and quaint and decorated in an old style format. Our immaculate corner room smelled of soap and lavender every day and had a balcony with a wonderful view. Even though we faced the busy Rue de Rivoli, it was very quiet. The beds have been described as hard, but I would say they were firm. I have slept on harder beds in Asia. We each had two excellent pillows to choose from - soft and fluffy or one that was more flat. The bathroom was very small as was the shower, so I would not advise this hotel room for people who are....."XXL". I think my wife and I are normal size, and had no problem. The shower, by the way had excellent and easily controlled water pressure. The temperature in the room was also easy to control. We were on the third floor, and took the short stairs up each day instead of the very small elevator. Again, people who are "big" and coming with lots of luggage might find this hard to navigate. I would therefore suggest another hotel, or even city. It you need the Marriot or Hilton, this hotel is definitely not for you, but, if you want a hotel with personality and a taste of French style charm, it is ideal! I loved it!

I've been staying in this hotel for over 20 years. Always a pleasure. The rooms are wonderfully decorated, clean and comfortable enough, staff is friendly and reliable. Location couldn't be better: in the Marais, close o metro lines 1 and 11.

A French gem, a change from the usual mass 'characterless' modern hotels, Has a feel of French interior authenticity. A clean warm hotel in a great location, lots of cafe bars, and restaurants 'on the doorstep', Metro stations nearby, and within walking distance of the Latin quarter.

This hotel is infested with bed bugs. So much so that when we went to notify reception that there was bed bugs in our room the exterminator was already at the hotel! Our room was fumed twice. Once with our knowledge, second fumigation without our knowledge until we entered the room and had to open windows due to smell of chemicals in our room. Staff could not confirm second fumigation. Everyday there was different staff. Communication seems to be very poor between the staff members.

Hotel de nice is in a good location, being very close to a couple of metro stations, the river seine and notre dame. The room itself was compact but good enough for our needs. I found the bed very uncomfortable as it was too hard but my husband found it OK. There was Aircon which was a godsend. The bathroom and shower cubicle were too small. Even I struggled to wash myself and I'm 5ft 4 and slim. If you're tall and of a bigger build, like my husband,it was like mission impossible to give yourself a good scrub. We only had breakfast on the last morning as we had an early start, and at only €7.50 each, it was OK. Just very basic.

Stay away from this hotel. They cancelled our hotel room without explanation two days before our trip and then charged a cancellation fee. When asked about it, they claim that they haven't charged us. This hotell has literally stolen money from us. In the middle of a cost of living crisis. They have absolutely no shame. STAY AWAY!

The location of the hotel is the only selling point. The room was sufficient; the bathroom shower was a true highlight - excellent pressure and temperature. Our worst nightmare was going on during our stay - construction in the hotel. During our stay, we were awakened every morning by pounding and drilling in the room directly next to ours. They also have a weird rule about leaving your key at the front desk when you leave. We returned one evening and had to wait 15+ minutes to get our key back as the receptionist had "stepped out for 5 minutes," probably to have a cigarette. I was beyond annoyed.

Pro: LOCATION Cons: I like the idea of the place decorated in old style, and was prepared for an old hotel/room but the place is just very poorly maintained. Bathroom door didn't close, hair drier had a bandaid on it (!) And didn't function for more than 30 seconds. The closet was just disgusting on the inside, I opened it and closed it. AND I paid €180 for this room...

We only visited the balcony. They let me stand on the same balcony that my father did in August 1944 before the liberation parade. I took a similar picture. Very emotional moment. High marks for working with me. Rooms small but great location. Visit the sock store around the corner.

“Charming” and “quirky” are fair descriptions. I honestly cannot tell if I love or hate the place. American travelers: there are no toiletries if you were packing light and leaving shampoo, conditioner and lotion at home. There are no wash cloths. There are no cups, so when you pick up that delicious wine from the store down the street, get cups or plan to drink out of the bottle. I am not a large person at all, but the shower was a challenge. I’m all banged up from just trying to raise my arms to wash my hair. It’s literally the smallest shower I have ever been in. It has a door, not a curtain, so no wiggle room. The location is terrific for tourists. The wallpaper in my room would cost a fortune in the US. It was over the top and gorgeous. I was fine with no bathroom tidy up during my stay. They did make the bed every day, and I liked the bed. I suppose if I wanted new towels, I could have asked. But I did not need that. It’s very old school. You get an actual key for your room and turn in you key to be placed on a hook when you are out. Some ppl will not love that. It was a hassle, but fine by me. I did not partake in the 10€ breakfast, but the breakfast area looked lovely. Small, old, sort of out of a movie. I just did not want what they offered. I went to various cafes around here, and there are a ton! Again, not sure if I loved it or hated it.
